Hey guys,

My college in Canada requires you to do a $3000-4000 certificate course at UC Riverside in California before you get to do the 5.5month internship at Disneyworld. This obviously makes the trip super expensive.

If I decide to do the trip AFTER I graduate through Disney instead of my college, would I be allowed to (as a Canadian) and how would the application process be any different - and I wouldn't need to do the certificate for tourism in California, right?

Thanks :)

You can do the Disney J1 Cultural Exchange Program instead of the academic exchange program! The cultural exchange is a 3 month summer program (May-August). You don't do classes when you do the cultural exchange and you can apply while you are in school or within 6 months of graduation! I did the cultural exchange program last summer and have applied this summer as well! It was an incredible experience and definitely recommend it. You will also save more money than having to pay to attend a school on the states for those few weeks before. Some schools in Canada also accept the cultural exchange program as a co-op opportunity!

My daughter wants to apply for summer 2018 and we are wondering if the arrival date works fine with Cegep students, since it usually ends around May 20-25. Can you please let me know the dates for 2016 and 2017, if you have it?
Thanks!

My daughter just got accepted to the Cultural Exchange program for this summer! They have two start dates: May 1st and May 22nd. The end date is Aug 3rd.

Hope she will have an amazing summer! Where did she go for the audition?

Thanks, she's really excited! She was interviewed at the Toronto Simcoe Place office. We live 15 mins from downtown. But she told me a girl and her dad flew from Nova Scotia for the interview!

My DD18 applied last month for the Summer 2019 program. Her application is still under review, but I am curious what the timeframe for the application and interview process? They are still accepting applications with no cut off date listed at this time. When should she expect to hear from them if she has moved on or not? What month do they do the interviews in Toronto? How did your daughter like the experience?

Quoting as hope to follow- my DDis 14 right now, but hopes to do this when she's 18 :)
