Prayer and pixie dust requests--Updated May 2

Thank you. We were there late into the night without much relief. Going to be looking for a specialist. She's staying home today.

It's been over a year since I updated about my daughter-in-law Lysa and her battle with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. After her chemo was completed last January, she went back later for her PET scan and it showed that the cancer was still active. In August, she underwent radiation and more chemo but the ugly disease was still rearing its head. On September 30, Lysa underwent a stem cell transplant in which her sister was her donor at Stanford. Lysa was to remain there for 90 post transplant. Her doctor allowed her to come home for the holidays and on December 30 had to go back to have another PET scan, biopsy and removal of her central line. She went yesterday to see her doctor and she and my son received the news that she is now CANCER-FREE!!

This has been a long, tough journey for their family including her being separated from her baby boy for long periods of time during her ordeal. They are now going to get back to trying to have a normal life once again and loving their little boy Aaron who is now almost 19 months old.

Thank you to all who said a prayer for Lysa.

Don't usually view this thread but noticed this morning that Nancy (Meriweather) had posted on this thread so I quickly opened it. Thank goodness all is well with her but so happy to see that all is finally well with your DIL, Mrsheppo. I'm sorry your family had to endure all this but so happy with the outcome.

Really good to see this good news, Barbara. GREAT news!!!! Such a tough time for a young family to go through. Tough for anybody, but seems even moreso for a young person/family. So happy to know Lysa is doing well now. Your son has to be ecstatic! And what a great picture of Lysa and little Aaron...very pretty, very handsome. Thanks for sharing, Barbara. Wonderful!!

I will certainly pray for those listed here.

I wonder if my son and I could be included? I was in the bad wreck six months ago and I'm still trying to get back on my feet. My husband died and now my son has way to much responsibility to deal with. He takes care of me and now the finances are starting to look a little grim. I'm praying that the life insurance finally comes through and that I soon become less of a burden.

Praying for you and your son and sorry for the loss of your DH. Your son sounds like a strong young man. Hopefully the insurance company comes through soon for you.

This is the first time I opened this thread. So sorry for your loss. I will definitely be sending warm thoughts your way.

My mom was diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer's right before my dad passed away, coming up on 3 years ago. It was very stressful -- along with everything else -- waiting for the life insurance funds to come through, especially as we needed them to pay for my mom's care. While it did take a while, it DID come through and we were able to do what we needed to for her up until her passing about a year and a half later. Loss + financial stress is a very stressful combination.

I am sending you lots of . :goodvibes

Wow, you had quite an ordeal! I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

It has been about seven months of waiting for the insurance now. I made sure that they had all they could possibly need in the past month and we are still waiting and waiting.

Thanks for the kindness. :)
