Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

Odd question but do you have to be in your room when they deliver the cake? Could it be left as a surprise for our kiddos when we return from the park? We have had cakes delivered to dinner in the past which is great but I was thinking having it be an in room surprise would be cute!

As long as you are checked in, you do not have to be in the room to have the cake delivered.

Just as @lurkyloo said. We had one delivered our first night while we were in the parks once. Only downfall was that we were too exhausted to cut into it that night! But they left us napkins, plates, forks and a knife, in addition to the cake (which was fully boxed).

Thank you both so much! We drive from VA and will be arriving around 8pm so I thought it would be cute to arrive to a surprise "Welcome" cake!

At OKW, they said we would have to pick the cake up at Olivia's. They would not deliver to the room, whether we were there or not!

We had it brought out at our dinner at Olivia's instead.

We celebrated our daughter's birthdays on our recent Disney trip. We initially were going to go with two mini cakes, until I saw the option of doing individual cupcakes. Since we were going to be presenting them at our Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast, I didn't really want to have any cake left over. For us, this experience was definitely more of a "it's the thought that counts" vs. looking to do something with unique flavors, design, etc. We requested two chocolate cupcakes, one Frozen themed and one Rapunzel themed and were very pleasantly surprised. Each cupcake was $8.50 and ordered via e-mail. I received a very quick reply/confirmation from them. Everything was perfect! Our server was incredibly discrete in letting me know they would out shortly after our meal. Here are the pics for all of you looking to do something special, but nothing extravagant or an option that won't break the bank. ;)

Do you know if this can be done at other locations? Like Whispering Canyon Cafe?

Can i please ask, why aren't I able to order a mini cake from csr?

Is there any other way of getting one delivered from somewhere else so that it is delivered to our room as I'll struggle to collect one of from the boardwalk or disney springs?

Call the number for Wilderness Losge listed in Post #2.

CSR's food service is run by another company, not Disney, and they don't offer custom cakes. They do have cake squares at the quick service that you might be able to get delivered by Private Dining there. So your only other option for getting something delivered at CSR would be to find a local baker like It's Tasty Too who is willing to deliver to your resort.

Hey everyone, I called the cake hotline yesterday for All Star Movies and was directed to the voicemail so I left a brief message. I called again today and was sent to the voicemail again. I was hoping to get the cake for Saturday, March 11 to be delivered to the room while we're at the parks all day.

It's only two of us so I was thinking of getting the two tiered mini cake but I wanted it to be Star Wars themed, the top tier being BB8 and the bottom tier Chewbacca like this cake below just mini version. Is this possible? Unfortunately, I'm reading that many people are only being offered the standard castle mini or the Mickey mini but I've seen pictures of custom mini cakes before.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cool cake! Disney is not going to be able to do a design that intricate on a mini cake, unfortunately. :( What I'm more worried about is that you have 4 days left and no one is calling you back. Tomorrow I would call the main number for All-Star Movies and tell them you need to speak to someone in the resort's Food and Beverage department about ordering a cake for this coming weekend.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I shall do that tomorrow! What size cake do you think they'd be able to do that design on, just out of curiosity? I have 3 other family members arriving the next morning so maybe they'll eat some of the cake that's left over but it's the day we check out so I also don't want the cake to be sitting in the hot sun in the car.

They'd most likely make you order a full-size (like, wedding size) 6-inch atop a 10-inch (starting at $250 or $300). So you might want to just get a 6-inch of your favorite tier, or they might insist on an 8-inch.

Ouch, no need for a wedding sized cake haha. Thanks for all the info, really appreciate it!

Update: I've called the All Star Movies number, they told me they can only transfer me to the cake hotline. I've called about 5 times and still only get the answering machine. So I called All Star Music and spoke to a CM and she's sending my request over to a specific CM at All Star Movies!

I don't think so unfortunately. You have to order through your resort. If you try calling the bakery that delivers to them they generally send you back to the resort. Do you have any other options if they don't call back? Picking up at the Boardwalk or delivery to a dining reservation?

Got a CM at All Star Music to send my request to someone at All Star Movies, thank goodness. It's only two of us and I wanted it to be a surprise so picking up would be my very very last resort. However, if all hope is lost I do have a dining reservation at Hollywood Studios so if anything I can try getting it there. Thanks for the suggestions :)

I have left two messages on the Boardwalk Cake hotline and not received a call back. I'm not set on having a cake so I'm not worked up over or putting more effort into it, but it's still a little surprising.

Several cake posts coming up. First, a disclaimer - this is NOT my cake! I did not have this made! But my daughter and I went to the Perfectly Princess Tea at The Grand Floridian and this was the dessert served to the guests and it was absolutely delicious! It was vanilla cake with strawberry filling, strawberry icing, and strawberry sauce on the side. I had a lot of desserts this week, but this was the only one that did not have a crumb left!

We have been to the princess tea party twice so far and are planning to go again in September and we have NEVER been disappointed in the cake they serve at the end. I am not a sweet lover; when I get dessert anywhere I tend to go with fruit or sorbets rather than cake or icecream, but I have LOVED the cake served here both times so far. Although the design of the cake that is stationed in the room to look at has varied (and both that we have seen so far were beautiful), the taste of the cake has been spot on.

... and we didn't leave any crumbs either, lol.
