FAQ for Disneyland Brides

I hope none of my friends sees me post over here because there is nothing official as of yet, but has anyone done an Escape (that's the small one, right?) at Disneyland and stayed around the $5000 mark (not including a dress)? The DL website doesn't even let me look at an Escape wedding for DL right now.

Thanks!

I have so many questions about DL weddings also. I've tried calling 3 days in a row now and nobody answers and online they only give you the wishes option. I tried joining the fb group a few days ago but still waiting on that as well.

We added additional floral, upgraded chairs and Mickey and Minnie and in total it cost us 7500 dollars for the escape package. In hindsight I would have skipped the characters as they didn't add much for the cost. Other costs not included with the package included a DJ, hair and makeup for me, my mom and my bridesmaid, clothes for groom, me, best man and bridesmaid and photographer. We used all outside vendors not listed on the preferred list given to us by disney. We had a beautiful small wedding and enjoyed our early service.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Does anyone know of anywhere else you can get info? I want to know good locations for photography, etc other than what info DL can give you. Why is there so much info for WDW brides but none for DL brides?

What kind of info are you looking for? There are many wonderful places around the Disneyland Resort for photos. We were married at the Disneyland Hotel, so we did all kinds of pictures around the hotel including in the lobby, around the grounds, near the stairs by Sleeping Beauty Pavilion, etc. We also paid for an in park shoot in front of the castle and did those as well. What other sorts of questions did you have? We did a wishes wedding and not escape, so not sure how much of our planning process and day of is directly applicable to any questions you may have, but I'm more than happy to share any info I may know :) Disneyland brides are much smaller in number on these boards :/

Because there are far fewer weddings at Disneyland and planning them is more like planning a hotel wedding. Also, most of the brides are local, so they don't go online looking for planning resources the way we destination brides do for Walt Disney World. There's a Facebook group for DL brides, but they won't let you join unless you're actively planning an event there, unfortunately...

We got married at the grand Californian hotel and had photos taken all over. We brought a local photographer that we know with us and that was much cheaper than the California options.

What other info are you looking for?

Hey, everyone. I just got married in Disneyland September 23, 2015 at the Brisa Courtyard, and reception at the Mark Twain room. I am hoping to be able to provide newer info to anyone that may be able to use it, but am not sure where to start....

Thank you!

Yay you joined! I'm going to start my planning journal in the next week or two :)

Oooo yay another DL bride is going to start a PJ! I'm the only one to have one for over the last year :( I'm so glad you joined Molly :D Great to see you on these boards.

Just curious but because there is no Escapes option for Disneyland, does that mean the Disneyland brides have to have a wedding party of at least 20 to have a wedding there? No elopements or more intimate weddings allowed?

Disneyland does offer the escape package for weddings! It's for the couple and up to 18 guests (20 people total) and includes a ceremony with a 4 hour reception that has a 3 course meal and cake. It also includes personal floral for the bride and groom.

The package that Disneyland does not offer is the Memories package.

Thank you! I see where I got confused...through the Fairytale Wedding site it says you can't currently configure a Disneyland Escape wedding. But on the actual Disneyland Wedding site, it says you can!

wow. asesome. thanks for sharing. I have a friend who has been looking into getting married at disney.

Forgive me if this has been asked before in this thread, but is there a way to elope at the DL resort? I know there isn't a Memories package there but is it possible to arrange a similar type of ceremony at the Grand Cali? It seems like the DL weddings people are a bit more relaxed about how they do things than WDW.

Disneyland's DFTW offers their version of an escape package. The escape package for Disneyland includes a ceremony, officiant, bouquet/boutonniere, 4 hour reception with a 3-course meal, cake, and a bottle of sparkling wine. The package is limited to up to 20 people (so 18 guests plus the couple). Pricing starts at 5000 and it is an all inclusive package (meaning taxes and service fees are included in that 5k and not additional). There are a couple of ceremony sites offered at the Grand Californian Hotel.

This is the cheapest package Disneyland's DFTW offers. The Escape package can be booked six months out.

I'm really looking for something more akin to the Memories package, even if it isn't an official package deal. Maybe a few people in addition to the couple, just ceremony and the basics.
