Thanks for the pics these are great.

The rooms r on the 4th floor the lounge on 6th.

When the hotel first opened floors 5 and 6 had slightly larger rooms called deluxe. They turned these 5/6 floor rooms to DVc. 5th floor dvc only and 6th is dvc cl rooms . The floor is small so not many and they book up by owners fast.

Is it inconvenient to have the regular club level rooms on the 4th floor and the lounge on the 6th at AKL? We will be going with our 2-1/2 year old.

Well compared to others resorts it's farther. However it's a lovely walk with a nice view of the lounge as you head to lounge. Did you fined the pix I posted of hallways and where elevator is? That will give you an idea what I'm talking about.

Honestly I would just take a stroller. The lounge is large and you can just park it in case you need it .

You can request room closer to elevator that may help.

Trishadono - we are taking our daughter for a week at the end of May-1st week of June 2018 and not sure which resort to stay at between YC - boardwalk view and AKL savannah view. She will be 2-1/2 years old. She loves water but won't really be able to swim. We originally picked YC because of the pools and location. But our daughter loves animals and zoos. We will be driving so now considering AKL since she would be able to sit out on the balcony and see animals and it sounds like there are more activities for her at AKL than YC. We will be spending one full day at teh resort and going back to the reosrt daily for afternoon naps. Which would you recommend? Also, if we do choose AKL is the upgrade to CL worth it. We are thinking about it because of the lounge.

Now I'm looking at all the pictures from @Ewoks and @trishadono again and missing AKL! I think I'm going to be making butter chicken for dinner tonight.

I didn't think it was too inconvenient since the elevators go right to the lounge area. I stayed last month with a 7-year old and my grandmother who has trouble walking long distances - none of us minded the walk to the lounge.

Anyone have any recent (within the last week) experience with Disney Signature Services via email? A couple of months ago I sent them my flight info for DME and I had a response within an hour. We actually had a little back and forth via email that was very prompt and helpful. I emailed yesterday with a flight change and I didn't hear back until I replied again 6 hours later and I still didn't get an updated itinerary. None of this is a big deal at all. I just like the itinerary they provide because we have recreational reservations that doesn't show up on the app or online. I like one inclusive print out.

I posted this on the June Discounts thread yesterday but didn't get any bites, so i'm going to try here:

I am super confused about changing my WLCL reservation. I have the summer discount on a CL room for 6 nights in June. I need to change it to 5 nights, but when I try to do that the summer rate is taken away. It allows me to increase my reservation by 1 night while keeping the summer rate, but not reduce my trip by 1 night. Has anyone heard of not being able to keep a discount while taking 1 night off of your trip?? As far as I know there isn't a minimum night requirement to get the rate. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Looking to see if anyone has recently stayed in one of the updated YC CL rooms. Looking at the pictures of the rooms with no carpets and wanted to hear thoughts on it.

I had some good, swift responses from them on Thursday and Friday. Not immediate but both within a couple of hours. Maybe they were just particularly busy yesterday?

So we are finally back and settled after our quick trip to AKL CL. Already missing WDW, but happy to be back in a routine!
AKL was only our second CL stay & unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. I think we were spoiled by CR CL and the ease of the lounge on our first trip. We had used the lounge at CR as sort of a living room for DH and I to relax after the kids went to bed. I just wasn't comfortable doing that with the kids 2 floors down and on the opposite side of the lobby. AKL also didn't seem to have the same personal touch from the CM's that we had experienced at CR.
We did have a few positives: the food was amazing and the choices in drinks was plentiful. The ability to have bunk beds was great too! However, I don't think the positives outweighed the negative for us.
I can see why people love it, but it just didn't suit us.

Hi, all! We have a BWI and a YC reservation for Memorial Day week. But we cannot decide which one to choose! We have stayed at both resorts before but only done CL at YC. We actually stay at YC quite frequently as it is one of our favorite hotels, but we have been wanting to try BWI recently. I have been reading through all of the posts and the BWI reviews of CL seem to be amazing while the YC reviews seem to be mixed. My husband and I usually make a meal of the evening appetizers so it is important to us to have good options (and a good wine and beer selection too!) we also have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old. Our kids love storm along bay and my husband and I aren't very excited about the BWI pool. It's just not as fun or exciting for the kids (or for us!) but all of the food in the BWI posts looks amazing! Can anyone give a rave review about YC evening offerings? Does the YC have a chef who prepares things in the lounge as well? I feel like I am leaning towards the BWI for the lounge but in all other areas my gut is to go YC. We will also have a double stroller so easy access is big for us.

I'm so not a fan of the Clown Pool. DS went on the Albatross Pirate Adventure Cruise two years ago when he was 9, and one of the stops was BWI, aka "Clown Town." (The CMs' name for it, not mine!!!) He came back completely creeped out. This is truly disappointing because it's a beautiful resort, and it's now on my list of places to visit when he's not in tow, especially given the raves the CL service is getting.

Circling back around, our experience at YC CL back then was just wonderful, but the recent reports have me concerned, and I'm anxiously awaiting replies to your question as well!!!

Is the 4th floor just club level rooms or is it both regular and club level rooms?
If you look at the akl floor map on previous page. The rooms in pink are cl and the white are not. The pink are facing inside towards the animals. The center rooms have the "rock" feature in front. The farther down the hall the better animal view. Look at a picture or google map and you will see better. Hope that helps.

I can totoally relate to your post.

I just wish CR wasn't always booked and almost double the price of akl then we would get what we want ;)

We didn't do cl until mine were 16 and 14 so it's harder for me to compare.

However at all resorts when my kids were younger we always went to bed when they did. Or we split one adult with older child for an hour or two and let the other one get the younger asleep.

So what do you do at bedtime? If u all settle down in the room ( sleep or not but just stay put) I would do akl. If one of you go fetch food or likes to hang out and the other stays put where does that adult want to be?

If you wanted to leave child in room and go to lounge those may not be best choice. ( I like to see door if possible )

Pas130 was just at ya cl and was disappointed with offerings . Her post shouldn't be too many pages back.

Last ds was 6 when we first went to akl. He loved loved loved it. You can also go in the halls because they have huge picture windows and can see different animals that way. There is a check list on the desk and even at 19 ds did that again.

Last when not staying cl I stock adult beverages in the room and buy my own snacks for bedtime. There are many great choices.

Hope that helps but ask more if needed.

@qbmillar, would you mind sharing your room location and what your view was like? Ironically, we are staying at CR CL in May with DS2, and plan to book AKL CL in July, but just for DH and me. I can totally understand your hesitation to be 2 floors away with kiddos!
