Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We are booked at the GF SL in August. I'm sad to say that this is our first trip in almost 5 years because of my girls sports are all consuming...ughh! Anyway, if you are staying CL and taking Disney bus to GF do they still meet you at the bus and check you in your room or at CL? That is what happened last time we were there at RPC.

Your mileage may vary but here was our SL experience last Saturday (although note, we didn't take MDE). There were no greeters outside, only bell services. We walked inside and there was a CM with an iPad who I told we were checking in CL. She handled everything from there and gave us a brief overview of the resort - although it was somewhat odd just standing there in the middle of the bustling lobby. She introduced us to the bell services CM who got our bags and took us via golf cart to SL.

The bell services CM was AWESOME and knew SL/CL top to bottom. He could tell us about service times, what kind of beer they had, etc. I was very surprised at his level of knowledge.

We totally bypassed the SL CL CMs but not really by choice... we just followed the bell services CM's lead. Not sure if this is normal at SL? Last year at RPC I did the check-in process at the CL desks on the third floor there.

@Chavaleh covered the second part of your question, but as to if you can get them to "watch" and book if something becomes available, there's no harm in asking. Generally speaking DSS is better suited for "one and done" transactions where they can do what you ask and move on to the next guest. But you occasionally see reports around here of DSS booking something proactively after the fact like that. I'd ask and see what they say, maybe you'll get a nice CM who stays after it. Let us know how it goes! :-)

Thanks! That was pretty much the response, it's unavailable to book as of now, they would be glad to book me a regular dinner ADR at Tusker House but no offer to watch. It's ok, I was really going to be watching daily anyways :)

IPO use to have a list of things we were waiting for and would check periodically. With this change, I was told by the CM I spoke with that they don't do this (no idea if that is really true or not) and that I could keep calling and asking them to check. I gave up and just got a FP for ROL since all the dinners were booked.

Sadly, we are back from our WDW Spring Break trip.:sad::sad: Already in withdrawal, so I need to turn to DISboards to cope.

For this trip we did a GF/CR split. 4 nights at GF SL and the last 2 at CR Tower Club, our first time at both respective CLs (although I've done RPC and Atrium before). We enjoyed both, although the Tower Club portion definitely overshadowed the trip.

I now see why those that have been generally have good things to say about Tower Club. What a wonderful experience. I don't mean to sound too gushy about Tower, but it was really, really good.

I have tons of photos I need to get through and will post more thoughts soon. In the meantime, happy to answer any questions!

Sounds like a great trip, Split between GF and CR I'd love that!
Are there differences between CR atrium club and Tower club? Aside from location. We are booked Atrium just because that was what was available online. Thanks!

DSS has told me a few times that they are not "looking" for me. Of course they say it in a kind CM way. lol

Glad to hear everyone are having great trips. Can someone explain how it works with Dss and securing reservations? We have only stayed CL once before and we upgraded a month before our trip so tbh we had already booked all dining so didn't use the service. And it was ipo not Dss then. When we booked the Cm said we should be emailing two weeks before our 180 days and they would book everything for me?
I am a bit of a control freak, does this actually happen? I like to hook as soon as possible as we want some of the hard to get bookings like crt and rol tusker house. I'm worried they will leave it for a few days and we won't be successful. Am I being worried over nothing? Or is it better to do the harder ones by yourself and send them the ones you are less worried about?

Just popping in as I'm waiting impatiently to be back "home" - we are heading to WDW for a quick weekend trip in 3 weeks and are staying with friends for most of it - but we did get a room at BWI CL for one night - I'm excited to try it out! We haven't stayed there yet. And then we just have to wait another 7 weeks to be back down for our BC/Poly split stay - we decided to only do CL at Poly as we are doing heavy touring for our BC portion and wouldn't really take advantage of the CL there. Can't wait for that 2 week trip!

I can't wait to hear about the Tower Club experience! And is it kosher to ask you to ballpark how much extra a night it was from Atrium club? Totally understand if you don't want to give that detail, but I'm hoping TC is in the cards for us in the future. Thanks!

With these reports of DSS not "looking" for particular reservations, it has me wondering exactly what do they do with regard to "special" reservations like the dessert parties or say an Illuminations cruise?

I'm asking because we are having a fairly special trip coming up, my oldest DD's final trip before HS graduation as well as DH and I celebrating our 20th anniversary.

To put it more bluntly-am I going to have to look/book myself? If so not sure I'm happy with this DSS change.

Hi, first time CL, staying AKL 10-4 through 10-7. Made other ADRs today but hoping for a ROL package. Can I ask them to watch for me and book when available? I've seen it before in this thread but can someone please give me the contact # or email (did try searching). Which is easier? Thanks

Your questions have been answered, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Yes, we are DVC and own at AKL but it's the first time we've ever used our points here. The villa is fabulous, it's 6208. Even though it's classed as partial savannah we've barely seen any animals as the location is at the end of the savannah.

We're having a great trip but if we were to return to AKL I'd book a normal savannah room. We're returning to SL in the summer.

Glad you are having a great time. Hope you have a nice time in SL this summer :).

My husband called Signature Services today to make arrangements for our trip in June. They booked our Star Wars Dessert party, a Fantasmic dining package and an evening at Lilo's Playhouse for our 9 year old so we can go out for a date night. He loves basically any excuse to call Disney and always ends up in lengthy bubbly Disney conversations. He's a cutie (I think I'll keep him). Anyway, they were very lovely and set it all up and then sent us an email with our itinerary because she said things like Lilo's Playhouse don't always show up in MDE. I got a silly tickle out of seeing the Polynesian logo at the top as I assumed with the merging of the IPOs it would all be generic "Disney". I'm easily amused. June can't get here fast enough.

Glad DSS was able to get what you wanted. June will be here before you know it! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Glad you had a great time and enjoyed both CLs. Can't wait to hear about both stays as well as see pics :goodvibes.

I read on this post

That resort deliveries are to your room at club level and not the gift shop. Is this true? Does it just happen naturally or do you have to ask?

AFAIK, packages are still delivered to your room when you stay CL. However, with all of the changes Disney has been making lately, that could have changed. Hopefully others will be able to clarify that or correct me if I'm wrong :flower3:.

It should happen naturally but sometimes it didn't. We did this all the time - it truly depends on the CMs who is checking in the packages in the gift shop. If it wasn't delivered we had to call a couple the gift shop. Sometimes we went to pick it up but most of the time it got delivered. It is a nice perk.

I have questions about turn down service. How does tipping work? Do I tip twice a day? Once for daytime mousekeeping and then again for turn down? If so, how much?

Also when do they normally do turn down service? Late Afternoon? Early Evening? Do I request it with the CL CMs at check in for our length of stay or should I request it daily?

Thank you this is the first time for a stay at GF CL SL. Stayed at the YC CL hope will not be disappointed.

Very personal choice with no right/wrong answer (in my opinion), but I do try to tip twice. I tip the daytime mousekeeping more than turn-down service if I have the right bills handy. There have been times when I haven't physically been back in the room between services, so no evening tip in those cases since I haven't been there to leave one.

With the old style smaller chocolates I found the amount of chocolates left was directly proportional to the tip. :sad2: Lately since everyone has gone to the larger Gharidelli (sp) chocolates, I seem to only get two per bed no matter what. Disney must be counting. But I did get a boatload at CR one night this past week. Your mileage may vary.

Timing of turndown service has been all over the board in my experience with minimal consistency, although since I'm not often around it's hard to say exactly. Roughly 7-9ish to give an approximate range. One time at CR it was after 10pm one night, which I thought was pretty late. She knocked on the door during Wishes!

No need to request turndown service, they should come every day automatically. I think AKL dabbled in it being by request only sometime last year, but that didn't last long to my knowledge.

I will occasionally have an evening or two where I mysteriously don't get turndown service for unknown reasons.

Hope that helps!
