Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We are staying at RPC GF for the first time. Do they still have greeters or do we check in at the front desk? Any suggestions for room request? We would prefer a theme park view.

We will be staying in Hawaii during our upcoming trip--standard room. We will have up to 8 devices that will need to be charged in our room during our trip (iphones, iPads and headphones). Do we need to pack a power strip?

DSS couldn't do anything for me. I was a little disappointed in the way they said no not the fact it is a no. I asked about Rivers of Light dinning for October since it isn't on the website. I know previously the resort specific people would at least confirm to you that it is still on their schedule and it should come out soon so they'll put it on your file to book when available but I got a response of it is not yet bookable and will need to call or email again to check at a later date. I asked about Bon Voyage and instead of just saying unfortunately unavailable the response made me feel stupid for even asking because they replied that it is a brand new offering and has been bookable through them for several weeks so there is no way I can get a reservation now. Thankfully I do have on for our last day but just wanted to see if DSS had openings for earlier in our trip.

This is my point exactly... it isn't that the answer is no, it is just the impression I am given that they do not really care and they are not going to do much to try. That being said, I looking forward to a great trip in less than a month. We will have a great trip even without the extra mile by DSS.

Yes, I would pack one for that amount of devices. Poly rooms have a little bit of that "designed for 1971" setup in that the outlets aren't all that plentiful or convenient, for modern day standards at least. You can find 8 plugs, but they'll be scattered all over the room. With a power strip you can put it on the desk and plug in everything there.

Also the current outlets tend to be very loose, especially for an Apple charger. I've had times where I 'thought' my phone was plugged in overnight but it had slipped out just enough. I would be tempted to bring a power strip mainly for this reason alone.

There are two USB outlets in the clocks they put in last year, which is nice - although I found them incredibly slow at charging for whatever reason.

Hope you have a great trip!

Since it seems like it is not just me with problems with DSS, does anyone know where to make a complaint. Disney prides the self on great service, but when you pay extra for that service and get told call yourself, we can't do it, or we will get back to you and never do, that is poor costumer service, but I feel they even lied to me, they could not get horsebackriding for the time I wanted, but half hour later I was able to get it exactly for that time, they could not get Spirit of Aloha, but I was able to. I pay extra because I don't want to spend every lunch on the phone with Disney, they should just do away with the service like in DL, and lower the price for CL. I understand them doing that, but lying just does not go over well with me.

You can always write the guest services email address (unfortunately I don't have it handy) and email email the VP of Hotel if you think it warrants that. Again I don't have that email but I'm sure someone does.

Bailey's is my fave - they did NOT have it at YC when we were there in April, although I know you're more interested in Atrium Club. They had something that they said was similar, but not so much...

Was it possibly Amarula? That's what they had at AKL CL, too, and I agree - it just isn't the same!

I'd keep expectations somewhat low for an actual greeter out front, but just start telling everyone you encounter that you're checking in CL. They should escort you up to RPC to check-in at the CL desk, but your mileage may vary.

TPV rooms in RPC are a bookable view category. If you booked a TPV room, you'll have a TPV. But if you booked one of the other view categories you won't have any TPV given the configuration of the building, although I could see tiny slices of MK and Wishes from my standard room last Feb (definitely nowhere near enough to be considered a TPV room).

If you can say which view cateogory you have, that will help folks provide good input on room requests. :thumbsup2

So I called SS today to see if they could get my MVMCP tix for me when they finally go on sale. After waiting for 5 minutes to talk to a real person I was told no they can't do that since they haven't been released yet and that they don't do the private tix events. I stupidly accepted that answer and let her go. I was still half asleep so probably my fault that I didn't tell her that I would put a CC on file for them to use when tix go on sale. Has anyone had success with them getting your party tixs?

What is Bon Voyage?

Is it fair of me to be annoyed by these two points on our current stay at BWI CL?

I asked for a glass of Cabernet, he asked me if that was white, I said that it was red, he went into the back, poured me a glass of Chardonnay, he handed it to me, I said that I asked for a Cabernet, at which point he told me that they don't do red wine until 5pm. Weird... considering I got Cabernet Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Is this standard?

Also, no one greeted us at the front on Sunday. We arrived by car. This is the second time staying at CL that this has happened. Had to go to front desk, find someone, and then we were taken upstairs.

Am I wrong for just being irritated by these points?

We had stayed at the BWI this past November and I inquired about this as well (the greeting thing- not the wine thing) and they said that they had gotten rid of the curbside welcome for various reasons (none of which I was told). My guesstimate was that it was the new GM's call and he/she felt that the front desk staff would be able to take care of that for you Kinda sad but not necessarily a deal break for us. I dont think BWI is alone on with this- I think a lot of CL have.

What is Bon Voyage?

New character breakfast at Boardwalk. I did it on Easter Sunday and know my batchelorrete party will enjoy. We all love Flynn Ryder. (And of course Ariel, Prince Eric and Rapunzel)

I booked a standard room online and the description was listed as "Views of Courtyard Pool, Magic Kingdom Park or Seven Seas Lagoon"

Got it. You're in for a treat! Here's my advice. Any GF pros please correct me if I slip up anywhere.

The Touring Plan resort room finder site can be somewhat helpful in getting your bearings for RPC, but it has some flaws (inaccurate views, some bad info, etc). Here's a link: https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps...[sound]=&filters[balcony]=any&date=2017-05-03

Here's a rundown by floor:
Floor 2: Only TPV rooms I think.
Floor 3: The CL CM desks are on this floor with a stairway that leads up to 4, room types include TPV rooms, standard rooms, and various other suites/Deluxe rooms that I won't go into for these purposes.
Floor 4: Very similar room type options to 3, the lounge is on this floor.
Floor 5: Mostly suites and fancy room types.

Generally speaking with the Standard View rooms, you'll be on the 3rd or 4th floor. This room map is of the 4th floor, please forgive the crude labeling. There are two sets of Standard View rooms, both in green below. One set faces the Courtyard Pool, the other set faces the Main Pool/Poly/GF DVC direction. Again, GF pros please chime in if I've messed up the map. Some of those other room types confuse me a bit.

I stayed in Room 4418 Feb 2016. It's the red dot you see on that map above. I LOVED this room. I liked being on the same floor as the lounge and I liked being just a few steps away (although no room in RPC is particularly far from the lounge). I think the two requests I sent in at the time were "fourth floor, close to the lounge" if I'm not mistaken. This side of the floor is relatively close to the "secret elevator" you can use to get down to the pool/boat doc/Gaspy's a bit easier.

Here are some view pics:

View left. This is what I meant earlier by seeing a little sliver of the MK. You can see Space Mountain there in the distance. The tippy top of the castle is that little spec right next to the turret on top of the SL building.
4.jpeg

A lovely and unexpected fireworks view, although minimal to no audio from here.
5.jpeg

One of my favorite sunrises last year.

Hope that helps! I've heard the views from the other standard rooms that face the other direction are quite nice as well. For us, I would request this room/view again. From a pure "I love this room" perspective, it was among the tops in my travels.
