Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

If you want 100 degrees 24/7/365, you do realize you're living in the wrong place, right? I think the Congo housing market is good right now....might be more in line with your temperature choice. :rotfl:

Was just in Phoenix and it was about 102. Bit high for me. Prefer about 90.

rumor swirling that the Cubs are interested in Yelich from the Marlins....or as I have nick-names him, Sid from Toy Story or Pete Davidson from SNL

just what we need, another outfielder lol

lol, I know it drops below 100..spent many a summer in Pompano and then Naples. Hands down 100% better than IL.

Can I like this more than once??? As someone who doesn't like cold/snow, I can think of MANY places that would beat IL (at least during the winter). :p

To quote Terk from Tarzan....
That's freaky lookin', that's what that is.

Dex is never gonna hear the end of this, lol

RIZ GOES~WE GO! AND YES, HE IS LEADING OFF TOMORROW!(lets see how it goes, Jay did well as LO, Zobie did well as LO) Team sure did respond well to it...they were pumped the Cubbie Italian Stallion was tonight's pick. 1st, 2nd & 3rd basemen batting 1-2-3...so simple it worked.

Think we had a little bit of pent up payback unleashed tonight, lol

Congrats to Lester on his 150th W!

You get a home run, and You get a home run, and YOU get a home run x5(and Kyle got robbed)

Willy's leaping grab in the 9th on first base?

Ya think Lackeys a little surly right about now?:duck:Monty's probably like..well....wish we could bank those runs :rolleyes1

STL choking in game 2 of the double header, gee thanks birds.

Who are these guys playing the Mets tonight??

Hope they stick around...:worship:

Oh, and you heat-loving people are crazy!! Give me a high of 75 and I'm one happy girl! :yay:

I was thinking...some of you folks in Chicago...can you go to the park and ask the guys to either hit like that ALL the time or save some for the other games? Please? :rolleyes1

Actually, I hope Joe has had chats with Kyle and Ian...I think they're suffering from home run syndrome. You don't have to try to hit a bomb every time guys! Just hit the ball hard somewhere. The HRs will take care of themselves and there will be many less Ks.

I guess this year for the cubbies should be labeled feast or famine. :sad2:

If Rizzo leading off does that every night, Joe better not move him! :lmao:

Congrats to Lester. I read when asked what that means, Jon replied "I'm old" :rotfl2:

Everyone SHOULD love the Cubbies. I keep hoping the mentally challenged who aren't fans get therapy.

Yeah, too bad it's not like DVC points where I can bank some or borrow some. I do wish they'd spread the wealth out a bit. As I said...feast or famine. The feasts are great, but the famines stink.

As awesome as that LO 465 ft (his longest so far) bomb was, Wheeler did serve up a fresh baked cookie.(matter of fact it looked like Riz and Happ got the exact same pitch) I mean, Riz even stated to the media before the game that he was going to be ready to hit and hit it far being LO, lol. Harvey certainly won't make the same mistake, but Rizzo should see more pitches at LO than batting 3. Both Happ and Schwarb's need to find some middle ground..but at least Kyle has been drawing the walk. I hope Joe moves the #8 for that reason alone. JHey did fine in the #4. Maybe Joe said Rizzo will LO off again tonight, but is just messing? Guess we shall see later on. Addie's timing sure an improvement. Bummed that Kyles Tendon issue not healing as quick as hoped...and Zobies wrist too. Hoping Monty has his stuff tonight~ This start will feel harder than his first, physically. Also Jake with a small cut to his right thumb but not expected to be an issue.

Thrilled last nights game was nationally televised as we all saw history happen...first time in Cub history that the first 4 batters in the lineup all homered in the same game:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Actually, I live for this weather. I was so bummed knowing I was going to miss it, lol. (came back 2 days early for other reasons)The only crummy part is DH setting the AC to 72 (altho he adjusted it up to 78 after the house cooled) I'll take 100 degrees 24/7/365 :sunny: Will get the upper 90's today and then it's going to cool to the 70's & 80's :sad2:

I too LOVE hot weather. I was in Orlando last month and it the weather was perfect: in the 90's with low humidity.

Dex is never gonna hear the end of this, lol

I think that one of the things that has been missing with the Cubs this year is leadership. We all know that Dex and Rossy were great clubhouse leaders, and having a leader also be your leadoff hitter gets things going. I think that Rizz can be a leader and maybe moving him to LO will be the charm to get the team to gel again.

Well...never the same lineup twice, lol~ But Rizzo gets the LO again. Miggy experience should help Monty., and in the clean-up? GO MIGGY! JHey, Addie and Willy get a day of rest. Zobies wrist must still be bugging him. Jay...hope JHey giving you "how to fly" pointers, lol.

RUBBER MATCH~LETS GET A SERIES ON THE ROAD!!!!!!!

Hey Cubs Fans! My DH will be at tonight's game!
I'm guessing no chance he was willing to take the lucky bracelet along on his road trip? lol

Ty Burrell from Modern Family was at last night's game, maybe he is there again tonight your DH will see him...I mean, he fist pumped Rossy's ring, it could happen!
