Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

Ooh! Baby chickens! Pictures, please.

I actually don't have any still pics yet but here's a quick video I took!

The tan-ish one with the crazy up-do is a Golden Polish -- that's HeiHei. The gray one is a Blue Andalusian and her name is Maui. The black is a Black Australorp (best I can determine but still not 100% pos.) and she's Moana. ::yes::

....mom is visiting from Puerto Rico [for her annual follow-up visit at Deborah Hospital] and, since she's been here, it's done nothing but rain, accompanied by the chilly temperatures. Her return flight is tomorrow - it'll warm up DRASTICALLY within 24 hours.....something like an average of 58 degrees to almost 90!

We still follow NH weather a bit because of family back there, and this week it showed a high of 50* on Tuesday, and will be 93* by Sunday........ THAT is just nuts.

Sorry I disappeared! I haven't posted this publicly anywhere but the baby has reflux and it's been a process. Of exhaustion. And trial and error. And then he gains weight, outgrows his meds, and we start all over again. And that's pretty much what the past two weeks were like. We finally got to see a GI specialist last week and it has definitely been helpful. I just want my little bugaboo to feel well. That's all. And I think his new med is finally taking effect and he's doing a lot better.

Just in time for the last week of school and MJS to be gone on a work trip. What fun is! These are the days of our lives. :lmao:

Anyway! I hope you're all doing well. I did, of course, get to see Pirates. I sort of put my foot down about it, and I went by myself. Loved it. Not my favorite, but still enjoyed myself nonetheless.

@TarzansKat - I didn't know that about your little one; hope it gets resolved soon! I know LL went through that too for a while.

How's everyone today? Can't complain here. Going to get hot by this weekend. I'm going to have to start getting my runs in much earlier in the morning.... Still have my eye on the Disneyland Half Marathon next year. I should find a local 5k for later this summer or fall. Having a more immediate goal can help when you feel a slump.

I'll be heading to Anaheim later next month -- no parks but I will get in some good Downtown Disney time! I'm good with that. Plus you can walk right to the entrance esplanade and just sit on a bench and listen to the BGM. DS15 is going to a shoe convention (he restores vintage Nike sneakers) so I'm taking him up and having a little "mom" time.

So glad it's Wednesday hump day!

I can't complain here either....aside from being cold.

@LegoMom3 - have fun at Anaheim. I need to get off the couch and get some motion happening. Been lazy for way too long.

I've definitely put on weight since moving..... Part of it is not being as active on a daily basis (used to work a busy 30-hr week; now down to about half that). I'm sure part of it has been stress (a 3k-mile move isn't without its challenges!). But, sadly, I know a BIG part of it is that wonderful time of life when our hormones run amuck and our bodies go crazy trying to adjust...

I'm making a huge effort to be more active, and I have GOT to start eating more conscientiously. No boredom eating, no mindless snacking, and way less sweets.

Rats.

Well, by way of encouragement (I hope...!), I've gotten in a run [read: walk/run splits...I alternate, doing each for one minute] four days in a row this week. I have also managed to keep my eating in check. I hit a real low earlier this week and that may have been my proverbial kick in the pants to snap out of it. I know it'll take some time to see real results, but I already feel better!

Thank you! We had a rough go for a while there, but we just started a new medicine and for the second time, I am working on phasing out the old one. It is going much better this time around, and it's a lot less stressful right now.

I haven't talked about it online at all. Some days I don't even know what to say, and I think part of it is guilt because I should be grateful to have this baby after I had a miscarriage.

For all of you who didn't know that lovely tidbit, I had a miscarriage before Baby Boy was born, and that was really rough on me. As a result, I've done a lot of things with Baby Boy that I never thought I would, like co-sleeping. I had such anxiety when we first brought him home about something happening to him. It's definitely gotten better now as all those crazy pregnancy hormones have dumped out of my system, but every now and then I still get nervous, like when he spits up in the middle of the night and sounds like he's choking, or projectile vomits everything in his stomach.

You can do it!!!! I have faith in you. I've actually debated finding another race to train for or training for an online 10K again. I do really well when I have an actually training schedule in front of me.

....MISSED you....

I missed you too! All of you, so much. :goodvibes
