So we need to find a new place to stay for our Summer '18 trip. Must have full kitchen facilities and at least one bedroom capable of sleeping 4, two bedrooms preferred.
Is this possible?

Very possible. VRBO is your friend. You'll find a decent amount of options in that price range.

I don't visit June-August but SkyAuction is a great place to find cheap prices on condos. In the under $500 range I like Wyndham Cypress Palms and Silver Lake. Summer could be higher though. You need to be very sure of your dates and watch out for seasonal surcharges but there are great deals to be had.

Yes it can be done, but you may be a little too early to see those prices. You will find that price range in more of a last minute rental specials. Or at less popular resorts. I'd suggest engaging in various forums and becoming familiar with various resorts and the rental process. As a previous poster suggested, SkyAuction is a good start. I prefer redweek and TUG but for the most part, they require a membership fee to take advantage of renting. TUG offers last minute deals that doesn't require membership, but you are too early for that right now. You have PLENTY of time to find exactly what what you want for the budget you have set. I think planning is almost as much fun as the vacation itself. Take your time...ask questions....get hints and advice. The end result is going to be GREAT!!! :wave2:

Skyauction can be ok but I'm having a heck of a time with the availability I need for August right now. Dates selling out quickly, and I did a Buy It Now on Friday for Wyndham Cypress Palms and still haven't heard back. I would definitely try the VacationcentralFlorida link above BUT.. they require a Saturday to Saturday stay and that was a deal breaker for us.

Thanks. We were looking early as many of the places in this price range seem to book up fast! One we found was already completely booked for next summer save for 2 weeks! :(

Wow....When you hear from them, please post the response. I have never rented thru SkyAuction but I am very curious to see how it all works out. Good Luck!!

I suspect they weren't open on the weekend and that's the reason for the delay. My card hasn't been charged yet, so I am not too worried.. and I got the insurance just in case. I've had good experiences with them before :). This time I need two units for a larger party and I'm date specific and I am finding it harder than before.

Just heard back, my date isn't available anymore. Back to the drawing board.

Bummer.....I don't have anything reserved yet either. But I am not worried at all. I always find last minute rentals at very reasonable prices. Last year I got a 2 bedroom at Wyndham Bonnet Creek resort for $599 !!!! I am trying this year for a week at Orange Lake and a Week at either Bonnet Creek or Westgate Resorts. I prefer a resort with a lazy river since I don't swim.

Question: Are you a member of TUG or Redweek? You leave 5 days after me so I am assuming your dates are midweek and not a weekend? What dates are you looking to rent?

Where do you get your last minute deals? $599 at BC is great!

We went with Silver Lake so I did another Buy it Now at Skyauction for $549. Now I am waiting to hear on that one. There was only two dates left, and one was mine, so I went for it.
$599 at BC is awesome. I wasn't very risk tolerant this time because instead of just my family of four we are bringing three more people and we are paying for accomadations for all, so I wanted to nail something down.
I definitely plan to hold out for last minute next time when it's just the four of us again. Good Luck with your search :).

On Redweek and TUG. But this particular Bonnet Creek rental came from Redweek. One of the owners had points about to expire that she couldn't use. She reserved a week and posted it for only $599 !!!
Lucky for me, the dates were exactly what I needed. The best part was, she was a VIP and well known at the resort. She must have a zillion
points and travels there frequently. They seemed to be VERY CONCERNED and attentive to ensure that I was enjoying my stay. I had stayed there
before and they never went above and beyond like they did this time. :woohoo:

I have thought about trying Silver Lake before but never got around to it. This year I am determined to find a last minute rental at Orange Lake. I am always pushing the envelope and booking very close to vacation. That is how I got lucky with Bonnet Creek last year. That rental price was insane and will probably never happen again. Especially now with Wyndhams new rules and booking system. Anyway, good luck with Silver Lake. Fingers crossed for this to work out for you!!!!

Airbnb has a million options. We have a 3BR with awesome amenities for $443 including everything - taxes, cleaning fee etc. - for 4 days. There were countless other options that were cheaper - maybe a bit smaller but great amenities, close to Disney, etc. Don't overthink it, just get on airbnb!
