Are there any new styles this year? My girls are excited to start picking out what they want for our October trip.

I have heard that they are no longer using gel, bummer. We loved the longevity of the past styles.

There is a bun with a donut and hairnet. You can choose all the hair up or only half. There are two braids. You can choose all the hair braided in two braids or half the hair braided in two braids. None of the styles hold up well. They last a few hours, tops. It's also very quick. Our first time there we spent nearly an hour and this time it was maybe 20 minutes for hair and make-up.

Definitely bring some spray. They may have used one spray on my daughter's braids. She had them done at 1 and by our 6:00 dinner I was re pinning and spraying it to fix it. My DD still loved it, though.

Definitely bring your own hair spray! My daughter chose the braids to go with her rapunzel dress. They had the choice of pink, blue or purple ribbon that was clipped into her hair.

I hope they bring back the gel! We loved the styles and made them last 3 days, minimal touch up. I didn't even care that it took 20 mins to take out the style...hahaha.

I would like to budget and may bring our own dress, but would like to know exactly what we get and how much. Like if I do the crown package...do we pay extra if there is a certain color or style that she wants? What exactly comes with it...? Sorry, we have never been before and really need to know how much we will spend so I can figure out what we will do...

Also, how much is the Halloween one?

The crown package includes the same hairstyles as the upper packages. One upgrade includes a tutu and BBB shirt and one includes a necklace, gown, tiara, and wand ($199.95).

I bought the exact dress, wand, and tiara that she would get from BBB through the Parks App when they had 25% off so I saved even more off the cost by purchasing before hand and I will just get the crown package when we go. Even without the 25% off, it is still cheaper to buy separately unless the necklace is worth over $30 to you.

So does the hairstyle come with the tiara on the bun on the crown package? Do you have to pay extra for anything with the crown package...? do you pay extra for different styles?

The prices vary based on the package you pick, which is based on the outfits you opt for, or if you opt to add nail polish

It wasn't. It was part of the 2nd tier package every time we've done it. That was the only difference between the basic, cheapest package and the next one up. The other package included the dress.
Last time we went was April 2016 so maybe they got rid of the cheaper one without the polish?
What where the names, Castle, Crown and then something else for the one with the dress?

Yeah, I think when they added that T-shirt version they must have done away with the cheaper version that didn't include nail polish. The non-nail polish one was only like $10 or $20 less anyway

Wow...they have REALLY cheapened the experience without changing the price. I'm glad I cancelled our reservation as I would have been super disappointed. Seems to be the way Disney is going...increase costs and decrease quality.
