Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Is there room for an air mattress in the 1-bedroom villas? I am trying to figure out if there is enough room for 4 adults (incl. 1 married couple) to stay in a 1-bedroom villa.
If you go back one page there's a pic of an air mattress someone used in a 1 bedroom villa.

Yesterday was our 60 day mark & I was able to get all the FPs we wanted! Starting to get really excited, though I do still feel weird planning & going without the kiddies (15 & 25) Not that I think it won't be fun, I know it will, it just feels odd. I told my DH it's like a page has turned.

Best of luck on turning the page and starting your next chapter! DW and I (no kids) made the Boardwalk our destination for many trips over 18 years and enjoyed every one of them. Two years ago we started our new chapter as snowbirds near Disney. Totally different life but still enjoying our visits to Disney. And still dreaming about a visit back to the Boardwalk.

Congratulations on booking your FPs and wishing you a magical visit!

Have fun on your adults only trip! It's a little different but you will have such a good time and before you know it you will have little ones to introduce to Disney. My husband and I have spent the last couple of years enjoying Disney without our son but I'm hoping in a few years we will have a grandchild to show all the wonders of Disney.

...I do still feel weird planning & going without the kiddies (15 & 25)...

I understand it feeling weird, but enjoy it ! It will be like going for the first time all over again. The wife and I did our first "adults only" trip when our son was 5. We went down for Food & Wine and left him with his Grandma. He didn't have any problem with it, and we had an absolute blast. It was like a whole new trip - going down without strollers or hours of packing and managing another person ... we just walked out of The Dolphin, threw a couple ponchos in a backpack and didn't have to worry about anything except what we wanted to do. Over the years, we've gone a few times without the kids and while they always jokingly complain about being left behind, we always feel it's really increased our love of Disney as a destination for the whole family. Now that the next generation of our family is getting older, they are all looking forward to joining the occasional "adults" trip (and soon enough, I suspect all of us old geezers will be excited about going down with the grandkids and great nieces/nephews for the first time.

Y'all are right. It will be nice not to have to fight to get out of the room cause DD isn't ready, is tired, or didn't put on sunscreen, etc.

I was just on the MDE app and was looking at the menu for the pool bar (Leaping Horse Libations). I noticed it is different from the menu listed on Allears. Does anybody know which one is accurate? We're heading down next month and are trying to get a good idea of where we may want to eat lunches during mid-day breaks. Thanks!

What days of the week and what time of day are the performers out on the boardwalk? We come in on a Sunday and would love to see them then. Thanks!

Here now watching them from our balcony:love: and it is 9:30. They were going about 7 when we went down to the pizza window.

Calling Boardwalk Inn experts! We're fortunate enough to have booked BWI, Deluxe Club level, Dec 9-15. I subscribe to Touring Plans and am considering their room request thingy. I know there are only 5 rooms on the 3rd floor and 5 rooms on the 4th floor for this room category. I've heard that the 3rd floor rooms have bigger balconies. I realize that we'll have to go up to the 4th floor for the club level lounge but I heard there is a secret stairway between floors....???? We're not afraid of it being "too noisy" from the Boardwalk so I'm wondering if a bigger balcony on the 3rd floor is worth a room request with TP? Anyone have any good or bad stories of the 3rd floor v.s. the 4th floor? Pictures of a 3rd floor balcony would be appreciated. Ok...GO!

We just got back from a few nights in this room category. I had requested a room close to lounge but we got the 3rd floor. It's July so really too hot to sit in the balcony much. We would dash out and enjoy the view here and there but that's it. Noise was pleasantly minimal. It was a bit of a hike to walk to stairway, up the stairs and back to our room. BUT the room was HUGE! Plenty of space for us all to spread out and my 17 yr old said the sofabed wasn't too bad.

I will be attending a conference at the boardwalk in October. I need your help getting excited about this resort. I have never stayed here before but have gone over and eaten and I has not done much for me. I have been to disney a number of times and this is my 3rd trip this year. My previous resorts have been GF, POLY, WL, AKL, POR, POFQ, AOA. Please tell me I am going to love or at least be happy with this resort! I am excited about the proximity to epcot during food and wine. Please give me your resort tips! Thank you!

I have only stayed at BWI once for a week long trip and holy smokes it's been 7 years since that trip! However, we always venture over there since we stay at one of the other Epcot resorts during our trips.

Where I can't say it's my favorite Disney resort (Polynesian will always have my heart), I can say it is a beautiful resort! The room we had was pre-renos and it was very large with a balcony overlooking a fountain, close to the quiet pool. If you enjoy a little afternoon pool time, the quiet pool is secluded, quiet, and lovely. Great place to relax and read or leisurely lounge in and around the pool. The clown pool is a tad creepy, but it's a fun slide and Leaping Libations is a great place to grab a drink.

Another great benefit is that it's close proximity to both Epcot and HS. The walk over to HS is a peaceful walk in my opinion.

I'm a huge college football nut, so during our fall trips a Saturday afternoon or evening visit to ESPN Club is always a must to catch a game and grab some wings and beers. There's lots of great entertainment on the boardwalk, which is fun and it's also a great place to people watch! Jellyrolls is another fun place to pop into if you haven't been - always a GREAT time!

At the end of the day, if you aren't enjoying the resort, pop over to visit your favorite for a few hours and just remember there will always be next time to go where you really want!
I haven't found a deluxe i haven't enjoyed yet. I like some more than others, but they have all had their own character!

Sorry for the long winded response! Enjoy! :flower3:

DW and I made many trips to the BWI over 18 years. We now snowbird near Disney but still dream of another visit to the BWI. We love the theming and especially the location. Being able to wander over to Epcot is wonderful. We also enjoyed that the rooms all have a balcony. We were lucky to have had views of Epcot, a courtyard, or the quiet pool. We also found the BWI to be a rather "quiet" hotel. I also like the little things like the period music playing quietly the background.

We like going out on the boardwalk, getting an ice cream, and just sit and watching the world go by.

Some folks complain about the lack of a dedicated, indoor QS restaurant. We were quite satisfied with the QS selections at the Boardwalk Bakery and the grocery selection at the General Store. Though most evenings, hopper pass in hand, we would just wander over the World Showcase to eat or snack.

My first visit to the BWI was, in fact, for a sales meeting that was being held over in the S/D. Since DW was coming along and we were staying on after the meeting I opted for a room at the BWI. And we just kept going back.

I am confident you will be happy with the resort and predict that you might be attracted to the Epcot Resort area.

Wishing you a magical trip!

I check out Tuesday...does anyone want our leftover waters and Capri suns? I'll also have some Chameleon cold brew left (yum!). It won't be much but I don't want them wasted!

I will be staying at BWI for the first time in November. How are the buses there? Do I need to get there super early to get in line? Thanks!

Part of the enjoyment of the resort will be diminished by the fact that you're there for work. I had a friend who stayed there for a conference and was so busy with the conference and work stuff, the location was almost meaningless. She had something like 3 hours of down time and the rest of the time was devoted to the conference. She did get over to Epcot during her 3 hours, had fun there, and was glad she could walk. Otherwise, the conference facility was good, wi-fi fine, and she liked her room. She was excited to have a conference there since she knows it is my favorite resort, but in the end, it didn't really matter where she was.

BWI is my favorite resort and we've stayed there several times over the last several years. Heading back in December. If you have some down time to enjoy the resort and the parks, I think you'll be fine. You'll be glad to be within walking distance of 2 parks.

Well add us to the list. We are going in early Jan 2018 to the Boardwalk Villa. We thought the kids were too old (19/17) but they still wanted to go so we are making it happen.

We normally do Pop or Art of Animation so this is a BIG jump for us, resort and price wise. However, we do so much in EPCOT that we feel the convenience of the short walk and the dining plan there will really be worth it.

We are in a deluxe room (not the 1 or 2 bedroom). Anyone able to suggest rooms we should ask for? We would like to be as close to possible to the boardwalk so easy to come/go to Epcot..

Thanks and happy to have found these forums!
