Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I did, about 15 years ago. Actually, it's a suite (or maybe a junior suite...it's been a while). My husband and I were upgraded when we popped down for a quickie weekend trip. It was really nice, and super convenient to Epcot, of course...I just wish we had more time to appreciate it.

We were upgraded to 3501 once, same thing, when down for a quick weekend trip for MNSSHP. I think they call those the deluxe one bedroom suite? Had a king bed in the bedroom area, and a separate (small) living area with what I think was a daybed. Might have been a daybed in the bedroom too. Bathroom was off the living area, and if I'm remembering correctly it had the sinks outside of the toilet/tub area. I think that was the room with the awesome huge balcony that ran the length of the room on the woods side, overlooking the path to the secret door. When you stood at the end of the balcony, you got a lake view as well, and you could just see the DHS fireworks. Nice room, but I think they're pretty pricy since they're club level.

Please tell me about the secret stairs next to Cape May?!

Inquiring minds and all that. Thanks!
This set of stairs exits into the hallway that is next to the back exit of Cape May, near the restrooms. It is a convenient set of stairs for guests staying in the rooms above Cape May and the restaurant/service area of the Beach Club. The exit stairs were a bit tricky to find. I finally figured out where they exited on our floor by going up the stairs instead of trying to go down the stairs. ;) The stairs are located at the end of the short wing above Cape May, next to room 3638. There are also two other set of exit stairs in this section of the resort which exit into the kitchen and staff area. You want to avoid using those stairs. ;)

For our trip in December we (DH &I) are booked in a Garden or Woods View room at the YC. I was going to call and request a king bed room and now my DD told me she's flying down for the weekend to stay with a friend. She wants to meet us at the resort and may decide to stay one night... I figure I can go to the front desk to ask to have her added to the room for the night and pay the extra $25, but if not all king bed rooms also have day beds, she may not be able to. I don't want to add her on to the reservation since I don't want to pay the extra person fee for the whole stay and only the night she will be there. Could I even do that? Can I also request the daybed when requesting the king room? Should I explain the situation to the cm when I call to put in the request?
There are very few rooms that have a king bed so your chances of getting one are not in your favor. And king rooms with a daybed may be even scarcer. You can make your request up to five days before check in. That may give you a better idea about your daughter. But if there is any chance at all that she would be staying with you then I wouldn't recommend a king room.

With all the recent talk about the "secret" BC door - I've always wondered
Has anyone ever actually stayed in room 1501?? I'm really curious. :drinking:
We stayed in 1501 about 20 years ago, It was a one night upgrade and it was a nice room. Our girls were thrilled to have the separate sleeping area. But it was a bit noisy with people using the exit door. And anyone walking past the room can look in. It was not my favorite location by any means. ;)

Tell me about viewing star wars fireworks please. We've never seen them. If you watch from the resort area do you see everything besidesthe projections? Debating whether it's worth tbe crowds to watch them. We won't be camped out early for them if we go to the park at night so more then likely we won't be in front of the theater. Will it still be way better from inside the park?

If you do not watch them from inside the park, they will look standard fireworks. They are lovely, but you will not hear any music or see any projections or know that they have anything to do with Star Wars.

Thank you. In park it is then. My boys are star wars obsessed. I had the dessert party booked, then canceled and changed my mind again and it's sold out.

The Speedway (formerly Hess) Gas Station near BW resort (no delivery fee, but must walk or drive there)- walk through the BW parking lot and it's just across the street from the entrance gate for BW. It is a bit of a hike, so if you decide to walk over there for water or other beverages, we suggest you take an empty rolling suitcase to make the transportation easier
Does anyone know if Uber will take us to Speedway from YC, wait 5 minutes or so while we buy what we need, and take us back? Or would we need to order two separate one-way Ubers?

I havent used uber in FL but in NYC we were able to use the same uber driver. We asked him if he could wait for us to pick up our bags at the hotel then go to the train station. Once at the first destination, you go back into the app and can choose the same driver for the next leg. It should work for you but you'd have to talk to the driver before starting there.

I bit the bullet and went ahead and spent the extra $$ and ordered GG. I'm sure the weather is going to be hot and humid when we go, and I know we aren't going to want to either walk or get Uber to Speedway from YC to get our own beer, styrofoam cooler, water and snacks. We've always used GG, so why mess with a good thing. Hate to pay the extra $$, but also hate to take time away from our vacation. Thanks for all the advice.

Definitely keep checking back, the dessert party has a 24 hour cancellation policy, so you may still be able to get it back!
You can always get a dessert or snack at the park and still see the fireworks. That way, you get the snack you want, and save a little money too.

This week we made our final payment for BC, received our DME tags, confirmed the MB order, and finalized the FPs (for now). The only thing that's left is getting through this final stretch 40-something day stretch to the trip. Why is it that time moves so slowly for these few weeks but so fast the rest of the time?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

I believe others have replied to your question about luggage and parking.

Please let us know if you have other questions as your trip approaches.

Please do add me we are going from November 25th to December 9th :)

I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get nearer, reading along I have learnt a lot already.

We are currently at the airport waiting to head to Yacht Club. Room ready text indicates we are in 4173. Has anyone stayed in that room? Didn't get our King bed request (bummer) but it is a high floor(hooray). I assume these are all remodeled. It's directly above check in will it be quiet since it's all the way up on the 4th? I'm super picky about rooms in case you hadn't guessed.
