No Poland booth at Food & Wine??

Just curious...since it's come up...

How many times have people been to food and wine festival at this point?

...for research purposes...

11 years straight, multiple days each year.

No not specifically for it but did arrange Sept/Oct trips to fall within the beginning F&W dates.

Admit in later years, it became less a priority as it had changed very little, not upped their offerings, only upped the cost.

I still go, wander throughout, enjoy poking among the stuff but not a big deal if I missed.

And there's the other thing...boy, that didn't take long

Once, my first time as an adult 9 years ago. Didn't realize it was a thing as we were in the World for our honeymoon. Like the idea of going down again for the anniversary, but I live in a major city so I can find good food pretty much anywhere, so F&W isn't really a draw for me. Now, love gardening and would love to make it down for F&G but also coach a Spring sport, so that doesn't seem likely anytime soon.

Opposite for us, its the best Counter Service at WDW IMO.

Who stole my script?!?

Now we're not happy with how the crowds have picked up so much at that time of year, so we're thinking of making a change back to Jan/Feb but we will miss F&WF, so I don't know how long that will last.

That's what I was trying to sniff out...

I wonder when people will get the "enough" feeling...my anniversary is in Epcot during that time...and I said "I'm done" about 4 years ago.

Don't like the mets too much...I do love their sny broadcast team...but I love Mr./Mrs. Met and that picture is fantastic...

So you sniffed out it's so busy nobody goes there anymore?

No, Yogi...people stated to me my own reasons that I give when I say it's "tired"...

Doesn't change.
Crowds have killed it.
It's designed for those that eat bad food (the papa johns belt)

It was really a good idea and I don't think they would or should get rid of it...but like most wdw things - it's been Beaten pretty heavily after 20 some years...

No, it's designed for those that appreciate good food (and drinks) as CS-not burgers and pizza.

Not if you don't know any better. Fish in warming trays is passable...not gourmet.

I wish they would have attached the booths to the pavilions...that would help quality control.

Yeah, we were fed up two visits ago but my son turns three this Oct so we wanted to get a trip in just before his b-day since we still wouldn't have to pay for him. Otherwise we're done and wouldn't have gone this year for sure. Last year was real bad as well as 2014, but they weren't near as bad as Oct 2015- that year was shocking. We had such a horrible visit due to the crowds that even CMs said the parks & staff weren't prepared for those kind of numbers at that time of year. F&WF has totally killed the reasons we went in Oct and while we enjoy F&WF, A LOT, we've had enough.

Our broadcasters are second to none. Although, the Red Sox have some great broadcasters as well. When you're the Mets, you gotta have good broadcasters & a killer stadium since they're not offering us much on the field most years. :sad2: And who doesn't love Mr. Met?! He's the best!

I've never been and don't feel like I've missed much. It just doesn't interest me but then eating is far down my list when at WDW.

Lol...I'm a sox fan...they are embroiled in price/eckersley gate right now...

So that being said...you know who I DON'T like at all...john and Susan and that stupidity.

The last time...now that you mention it...we were in the parks during oct/nov was 2014 before a DCL...and Epcot was so packed it looked like they hadn't bothered to staff at all. Disgusting and substandard.

Then I saw Disneyland last October...and that was a Walmart on Black Friday class nightmare for the Halloween thing.

Yeah...I think I'm done. And it's sad. Can't associate good memories with that time period anymore.

It's a case of disney and the consumers feeding each other wha they wanted and strangling the ambience in the process.

My sister and I did F&W for the first time last September and are in no hurry to go back. It was fun, but we tried what we wanted to try and the crowds were not fun. We're going back to our regular early December trips.

It is almost a reflection of Epcot itself. They are dependent on the same old, same old. You can get away with that at a park with attractions because folks love to do them over and over ... and maybe we will see more of that at Epcot after the new ones announced. But refreshment is good, especially at a festival.

I get the whole if it isn't broke ... but adding a new country kiosk each year
doesn't make up for year eleven of beer cheese soup. :duck:

I get it, we used to eat quite a bit when we were on the DDP because we saved all the snack credits. But after all this time I have no interest in standing in long lines, balancing little plates of $5 bites, at least 5 or 6 times to not be hungry. I too have access to lots of good food so F&W is nothing special in the food department.

And there's the other elephant in the room...

Who stole my script?!?

YES. If you have access to good food, the food being offered there is nothing special if not generic at times.

Disney has been great at offering some new things lately, like Highway in the Sky and the Epcot Arts Festival so those will likely be the types of things I will look for. I get the F&W, if it ain't broke and they still make tons of money with all the overpriced drinking around the world and folks paying top dollar for a bite of food ... but it's very tired, very repetitive year after year and I'm just not very interested jockeying around the WS for the same stuff. AND if they aren't careful the Art Festival, Flower and Garden (also diminished) and F&W will all just merge into the same festival year round.

I do hope that some of these new rides that they are alledgedly chomping at the bit to put in Epcot will draw some attention away from the booth festivals...it's pretty slim pickings right now

Which late in the day...has the texture of a hockey puck...as an ode to Canada

Nice try. It certainly does not. Always been fresh. However "most" of the time we do CS at lunch and sit down at night.

Still side stepped drinks and wine at this point.
