Flying out of Bradley for the first time...

Ok, title says it all. I'm driving down from just east of Worc. Dd used to work at Six Flags, so I'm familiar with getting there via 91. Or, would 84 to whatever be better? Dd's boyfriend is from South Windsor, so familiar with 84 to that point.
Anything I should know about Bradley? Flying out at 8am, so plan to arrive around 6-6:30. Imagine traffic won't be an issue.

we use BDL often. we are about 30 min from there and use 91S. easy ride! Galaxy self park is cheap and close.

Hi Diane, finally trying Bradley huh? 91 south to exit 40 and a straight shot to the airport. I arrive 45-60 minutes prior to boarding and have never had to rush. What are you doing with your car? Cuz you know the taxi service offer is still open.

It was about $150 cheaper than Providence, and about the same ride.
Thanks for the offer. The kid's boyfriends family has offered as well. I just like not having to worry about delays and worrying about someone who's chauffeuring me. Especially in the bad weather months. Parking isn't too bad....not like Logan!!

DD lives in Newington and says using Bradley is a breeze compared to Logan (where we flew from until she moved). She says she plans to be in the terminal 60 minutes prior to flight time and always has plenty of time.

BDL is our home airport, and we commute to Hartford for work. You are correct that you will not have competing traffic that early. I-91 will be better. They highway bypass /connection in Springfield has been improved in last couple of years. If you go I-84, which I would not, you still essentially need to get back to I-91.

We use Roncari parking (with a shuttle service). It's very close to the terminal, but there are five or so good services if you choose to park at a private parking lot. The airport operated lots are not much less expensive. Roncari website has coupons and/or 20% off for various memberships (Costco, aaa, even your Stop and Shop card!)

Inside terminal, after security, there's Dunkin Donuts and a McDonalds that are open early. Barring some oddity, gettting through security is usually quick that time of day. Maybe 10 minutes.

Thanks all! I'm pretty familiar with the whole Springfield stuff....dd worked at Six Flags for two summers so I spent a fair amount of time on 91!
Getting there an hour prior would be great. Thanks for all the info!!
