We are going down next month. Is it worth taking a child that age to DC? Do we have to pay for him?
Otherwise we'll probably just leave mom and baby at hotel.
Was thinking about doing a day at SeaWorld so this would save having to buy a separate ticket.

Children 2 and under are free of charge but you will have to include him on the reservation - you will see the place for "2 and under package" when you go to book.

There won't be anything for him to do specifically, except play in the sand, but at least mom will get to go and enjoy the day! :)

If you are a strong swimmer* you could put baby in a floating thing and ride the lazy river. Be warned though that there are 2 water falls to go through.
Although there are plenty of shallow water areas to splash around as well.

*I say strong swimmer because the depth of the lazy river varies from 3-8+ feet, so if toting a little one you need to be able to tread water for a little bit while doing so.

Do they have little life jackets for the kids?
Do you use tubes in the lazy River?

I've been a few times but don't really remember. I'm all about the snorkeling when I'm there

I've seen families there with young ones, not many, and they pretty much spend the day sitting in the sand by the warm water. They will be required to wear a wet suit to enter the water but there are also some life jackets hanging around for you to use on top of it.

The lazy river is very strong and deep, not sure the rules on what you can bring in for them. There is an aviary, some small animals they bring out to meet and live music by the dining area.

It will mean someone who has paid a great deal will be spending their day babysitting rather than getting their monies worth. Or folks have to keep splitting up to be with them.

Yes, I figured we would take turns watching him. There will be three or four adults. Can he go into that new exhibit with the monkeys?

I suggest you arrive early so you have the pick of your lounges. Most are in sun but there are a few in shade and with small tables. This is the area (lime green) I suggest you go because it's right next to the shallow warm pool, the snack bar and dining area. A quick walk to aviary and the water that goes around some animals you can take them in. Lazy river starts/ends there. Convenient to all areas for the little one and when the adults go off an easy walk to Grand Reef.

We went in March with our 16 month old daughter. Was fun but my mom was with us, we rented a cabana and daughter and grandma spent a lot of time there. We will be going back in December, daughter will be 25 months, no grandma this time and I'm confident we will have fun. Daughter loves playing in the sand and splashing in shallow water. She liked the animals before, will probably like them even more this time.
