>> Smoking at Disney Resorts FAQ <<

Yes--the relocation area was opened on or around May 16, 2017 when we were there for the AP preview of Pandora. It is in a location that was previously used--tucked up in the woodsy area (with a COVER) just past the drums/merchandise cart in Africa on the walkway to Asia. If you are approaching from Africa, it will be on the left and up a hill--there are entrances from both ends and did I mention, it is covered!

Great! Thanks for the info. I'm surprised, actually. Covered DSA's are so rare, and this is a better location since it's more accessible from Asia.

I like the locations but sure is a "hike" for those on the "MK side" of the Lodge! I've been expecting the one at the bus stop exit of the Lodge to disappear for years now so not surprised with that all . Will sure miss it though :(; I loved that place; good place to go out at night and in rainy weather. At least the one by the Villas isn't to bad. Would really like to see one on the side of Whispering Canyon...a spot to enjoy "one last one" before boarding the ME for the airport. Could always watch for the ME arrival at the eliminated DSA but certainly not at either of the current ones. :tink:

Something worth noting.....

JUST to avoid inadvertent FIRES, in the area(s) of the new cabins? WL will likely need to establish a DSA In the NORTH cabin area. They really don't have to.... their choice.

But currently? There are ZERO DSA's targeted for the MAIN HOTEL. Now - we are DVC owners at BRV.... no effect, we HAVE a DSA.

But it might be a good idea to have ONE DSA for the main WL Hotel? Currently, there are ZERO.

Oooh! Is that the one that had been recently used a character meet and greet? That's fantastic. I love the DSA's that are off the beaten path and won't bother others. This used to be one of my favorites.

I'am not a smoker but that is crazy, people are going to smoke in other places if they don't make the dsl's more convenient.
That is my fear. I'm so allergic to it and have had to leave DCA in an ambulance because someone decided to smoke by the lockers for GRR. I quickly turned around when I saw him smoking and as soon as I could I grabbed my inhalers from my backpack and started using them but it was too late. First Aid was called, then I was whisked out of the park. I highly doubt the smoker knew what he had done to me.

DH vapes. I can't find a list of acceptable e-cigs for the parks. I want to make sure he brings a disposable (is that the right term?) if necessary. Can someone point me to a list of what's accepted? I searched the WDW rules and couldn't find specifics (unless they fall under glass container restrictions).

I'm not sure what you mean. They have to be smoked in a designated smoking area, not just walking through the parks. I haven't seen any restrictions if stuff isn't allowed to be brought in.

Disney doesn't specify brands or types of e-cigs that can or can't be brought into the parks. The only restriction on e-cigs is that they can't be used outside of a designated smoking area.

This was stated on the first page. I thought it was part of the FAQ, but apparently was a comment:

"- E-cigs and similar are considered smoking in disney. Check the allowed items list, not all e-cigs are allowed into the parks. (allowed list was recently updated and the old rule of refillable ecigs was removed, you might want a non-refillable backup with you)"

So I went to restricted items and couldn't find any information. I wondered whether this was so, and if it was, what types I should tell DH to bring.

The FAQ is in the very first post in the thread. I see the comment you mentioned, but it's either outdated or incorrect information. The Park Rules page is linked off that first post and contains the list of prohibited items, but I'll put it in this post, too.

Walt Disney World Park Rules and Regulations

There's no mention at all of e-cigarettes in the list of prohibited items.

I've never had an issue bringing my refillable ecigs to the park and I've never seen anyone else have an issue either.

Can anyone clarify the location of the DSAs by the feature pool at the Boardwalk Villas? I know there is one, if you are standing at the pool looking toward the villas, in the left corner of the villas. The map shows one toward the right corner, but it shows the symbol on the roof and I am not sure if it on the feature pool side or the leisure pool side. Does anyone know for sure?

Best bet - and it is NOT certain.....
Pull up MDE on your cellphone. Go to "Guest Services". Pick "Designated Smoking Areas - Find on map".
Now zone in our YOUR area. What you see are the current, OFFICIAL DSA's. PRINT this, if you can, CLOSE to your vacation period. Carey it, and present it to CMs, if needed.

I personally HATE to do this :(. But WDW changes official DSA's faster than a teenager changes their underwear :(. This hurts both those that DO smoke, and those wishing to AVOID smoke :(.

From the maps on the Disney site it appears Epcot is the only park to not have a DSA outside the park. Is there one?

accrding to allearsnet, the DSA at all star sports is not near the laundry and bldg 1, but is outside the back door to the food court, near the touchdonw section.. this has been corroborated by recent guests. I hope themoderators will update the DSA info. it's important for those of us who want to request a room near them and it's important to thoses with asthma, etc. who want to request a room away from them. thank you.

Note: The previous version of this thread has been closed and is no longer a sticky. It will remain on the board for reference if needed.

Resort Maps

kindly fix the DSAs on the all star sports map. those who want to request a room close to them tahnks you. those who want to request a rom away from them thank you.. you have them wrong. the DSA is not near bldg 1, near the laundry, it is near the back entrance to the food court, nearer bdlg 6 and nearer the touchdown section. this info need to be kept updated as it's important to a lot of people.

Does anyone know about smoking at Fort Wilderness? We have a cabin for our trip and this resort is HUGE. If we can't smoke outside the cabin we will have to drive a golf cart to kingdom come just to get our disgusting habit fix. There are 4 of us and 3 of us are smokers. There is a grill at each cabin so I assume we should be able to have a cigarette in the same area as flaming charcoal? Please for the love of all that's holy, say yes!

Note that at Ft. Wilderness, smoking is permitted at campsites, on cabin porches and in designated smoking areas. Smoking is not allowed inside the cabins.
