We just booked our airfares and now cannot get any hotel at Value resorts. They are all blocked out.

Anyone have any info as to who (sport or cheer groups or whatever) might be taking up all the rooms???

Check David's DVC, here on the boards. There could be points to rent at the last moment.

Yeah, not going to happen this late. That is right in the middle of Free Dining, Room Discounts, and "value season", so they've been booked up for months and months. Also try looking at split stays, if one resort isn't available for every night. You may just need to go off-site.

Also, for airfare-most (but not all) airlines have a 24-hour cancellation option, so if you need to change your dates, do it ASAP!

There may be points available, but finding rooms available with DVC 2 weeks out is almost impossible. You may find a night or two, not the whole week.

Stay Off site. I'll be there for a few days during the middle of that time and I grabbed a hotel 5-10 min away a couple days ago for $60 a night.

Try looking on 3rd party travel sites like kayak, expedia, etc. for rooms. The will often have rooms when Disney is "sold out."

The good news is that even if you can't land an on-property room, there are a ton of off-site options.

If you are going this September offsite is your best bet. You are only a few weeks out and people with children who aren't school aged take vacation in the fall along with those of us with no or grown children. Plus there is the free dinning offer and Food & Wine.

Where ya staying? Been playing around with a few trips and for fall ... and Disney is only coming up rack rate.

Split up your stay to look for rooms.,often, it is just one night that is a problem. Start by splitting it into two searches.

I must have been doing room searches while you were typing.

If the stay is split 9/13 - 9/17 all 3 All Stars are available and then 9/18 - 9/20 also has values

I'm not Maleficent, but I've done that when I've found a crazy good airfare.

Me too - just did it a couple of weeks ago for a last minute December trip before the APs expire. I wasn't letting $70 RT from my local NY airport slip through my fingers!! Room inventory was really tight. Took some continual searching - multiple times/day - but, after a few days I snagged a discounted GF room.

Over Columbus Day weekend in 2010, I found $175 round trip including fees and taxes for two of us, Spirit from Atlantic City. I wound up booking us at All Star Music with the AAA discount. Probably the smallest discount I ever used on a Disney resort.

With such a short trip, we were in the parks two long, full days, and spent little time in the resort, only sleeping and showering. It was my first time at the Food & Wine Festival, and I LOVED it.

I'm going back for my fourth F&W next month, and I owe my obsession to that cheap airfare. :)

I understand not letting a good deal slip by, but you at least run a search for rooms on the same day before booking, right? Sometimes the price of lodging is so high that it negates the airfare deal, or vice versa. I'm not talking about Disney, specifically, but travel in general.
