I would double check as well at Disney Springs. On a regular basis they have signs at each garage saying that vehicles left after 2 or 3am, I forget, will be towed
Last year, Resort Guests reported parking their cars at Disney Springs during Matthew and left the cars there until Disney Transportation began running to DS.

I'll keep checking. They may have told CMs not to park there to make it easier for Guests.

Depending on curfew and all that for tomorrow night, I might go to DS and check it out. That would be a great alternative to parking the car

Whenever we're assigned to DS, we are told not to park in the garages. That applies to DS CMs as well. There are designated parking areas for CMs.

Hurricane Irma Update: Resort to Close at 7pm on Saturday, September 9 – More Details Below (updated 9/8/2017 at 12:30pm)
Out of concern for the safety of our Team Members and our guests, Universal Orlando has made the following operational changes due to Hurricane Irma:

  • The theme parks and CityWalk will close at 7:00pm tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 9). We will be fully closed on Sunday and Monday. As such, Team Members scheduled to report after 7pm on Saturday night should not report to work on Saturday night. We anticipate normal operating hours on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
  • Our on-site hotels are currently at full capacity and will remain operational as they focus on taking care of our on-site guests.
  • As previously announced, we will hold our Rock the Universe event at Universal Studios Florida tonight, Friday Sept. 8 and will welcome Saturday ticket-holders tonight as well. The event will be cancelled on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Our son is evacuating tonight. He had to take care of things where he works and then will travel northward. I hope he goes far enough north! He lives in Fort Myers which is south of Orlando I think 2 hours. I pray for those folks who are unable to vacate. So many elderly live down there. It must be so scary to wait, knowing you're in Irma's path! I get a sense in this thread that it has gone WAY past being concerned for our trips and is more focused on those poor residents of the states Irma is heading toward and has been. Bless you all for having such caring hearts!

My daughter is CM at Disney World, Fantasimic show canceled tomorrow night. Disney will be phasing out closures starting tomorrow and will be closed through Monday.

Based on the latest forecasts for Hurricane Irma and keeping safety top of mind, Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Disney Springs, Water Parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will begin a phased closure to be completed by 9 PM on Saturday, 9/9. These areas will remain closed through Monday, Sept.11 with the hope of resuming operations on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Check the Walt Disney World Resort website for updates: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com

Disney’s Blizzard Beach: Closed as of Friday, 9/8 – Monday, 9/11
