NEWS 5/17: Late 2019 itineraries released - link in post #1 (2020 watch thread will start soon)

Ok so I want to make sure I didn't violate any rules here, mods can you jump in? I posted about the rumblings of opening day being near. I mentioned a poster but it looks like he is affiliated with a TA? I edited my original post to exclude his name, is this ok? I was just trying to communicate that it feels like its getting close.

This might be a silly question but does anyone who’s sailed the TA before have a preference of EB vs WB? Is the sailing smoother one way vs the other? Why is it your preference?

From people's reports and postings over time, it seems the EB can be rougher seas, depending on the route and month. We did the WBTA 2007 and the seas were like glass, but the EBTA that same year had a horrid crossing. Route and month and other factors contribute to it, so one never really knows. And as a PP said, the time changes going over can be tough as many have posted as I think you lose an hour a day for one segment.

On that note, I'd still be willing to try an EBTA as I like their itinerary this year and have a quote request in with my TA whenever they open the beginning of 2019! Guess it's not going to be this week though!

What time of day are new itineraries typically released? In the past has it been first thing in the morning or sometime throughout the day? Wondering if today is already out.

Yeah, if itineraries were already released, this board would have blown up LOL

Good on them for finally doing this right and giving a few days for people to review and digest the new dates/itineraries before immediately opening for booking the next day.
