Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

We ordered a cake from Yacht Club private dining for our Illuminations cruise. It was displayed nicely by the captain and we could have eaten it there if we had wanted to. However, this was a surprise for my family and they all ate dessert at our dinner before the cruise, so they weren't hungry. We boxed it up and took it back to our rental house.

Thanks! That cake is really pretty.

Does anyone know if this is still the current email address to use to order cake @ the Contemporary? wdw.contemporary.cake.order@disney.com

That's the correct email, but you normally have to call to place the order depending on where you are having the cake. I typically email for information to work out design, price, etc. and once it's all set call the appropriate phone number to place the order.

Thank you - yes I wanted to email the 'design' and figure out a price, then call to order it once we have that figured out. Is it still Brian?

He is one of the pastry chefs there, but there are others. I've dealt with him, Donald, and Jason, but I just read Jason is with the Epcot team now.

where can I find this email to send the ideas to Pat? No one is answering the line when I call. I also left a message yesterday and today. Any advice?

To reach the GF there is only a phone number that goes to voicemail. It can take a few days to hear back sometimes but they generally will get back to you. If you don't hear back after 2 days I'd try and call again.

ok thank you
I was just wanting Pats email to send her the pics and write up but ill wait for the callback.

she called back. I admit I was not fully blown away. The cake I wanted was quoted 50 and added a cupcake for my son at 6. so 56

I'm getting a three inch mini castle cake, with blue and white buttercream, an Anna/Elsa sugar stand up piece, and a cupcake with lavender color and green vines (like Maleficent) it sounded good for 36, but then told it was 56 i was reluctant to say "but it was 30 for other ppl) but I didn't. I don't know if I should have. I still think it will be nice, but im afraid when my hubs see's it he will say "that's what we paid 50 for??")

I am hoping to get the mini cake the last day goes as well and cheap as I've been told that would be. I don't know if I could do another 50 for something worth 35.

my understanding is it's the character sugar stand up that jumps it to $50.

just my mini cake was 35, but when I requested an ariel stand up, they said oh that makes it 50.

hum, I was not aware that would make it so pricey. Thought the 2d thing was cheapest. but thank you. I am hoping it tastes delicious and looks good maybe we will be blown away and think its worth it when there. I am also super happy right now. Just found out I do get my carry on's. I thought somehow I lost those due to basic economy but I read something wrong so *dances*

The minis can be more expensive sometimes than getting a 6 inch cake when things like 2D imagines and extras are added. For comparison, the cake I posted a couple pages ago with the lighted white chocolate castle and flowers was a 6 inch cake and only $43. Different bakery though. I got a 2 tier mini once but usually go with a 6 inch cake anymore as the price seems more reasonable for what you get. And I'm always happy with leftovers. :-)

That sounds right. It's been a while since I've seen an itemized pricing of the cakes we've ordered, but a few years ago it added $15 to have a white chocolate slipper added to a cake and the same for a white chocolate 2D printed character.

Pat at the GF just made this cake for me this weak.

Figment Cake.

Inside is Vanilla cake with Strawberry choc mousse and butter cream.

Had it delivered to Kona Café. I originally called Kona but they redirected me to Pat and they had the cake delivered to Kona.

Had my birthday brunch today at Dinosaur Lounge at Animal Kingdom. Wonderful meal and this was my cake. Chocolate with vanilla buttercream. It was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted. $65.
Quoting myself! Do all the bakeries use the same recipes? The above cake was sooooo good that I'd like to get it again. We are at Boardwalk Villas in January. If that bakery baked the cake, what are the chances it would be as good. The above cake was made by the In Park Events pastry team.
