DIS Exclusive Backstage Magic Adventure 12/2 - 12/7/2018 - SOLD OUT!

We'll definitely spend a couple of pre nights somewhere. I'd like to see the Farmers Market, so we may choose to stay 1 or 2 pre nights in Hollywood. But then I'd like to go to the Napa Rose and that might be more convenient during pre days rather than post. So, I'll probably be indecisive for several months of where to spend the pre nights.

If you plan on Napa Rose you might consider their Chef's Counter. Its a truly amazing experience. Val & I are fortunate to have done it twice.

Jen and I have done chef counter numerous times. I've also done it another 4x then her on my solo trips. I am also thinking of prenighting at DL- I think candlelight will be on the 1 and 2. The Disneyland version of on the same songs and show takes place on the train station -it's first come first and hard to see but I think it's very special to see at Disneyland.

So, this adventure officially starts one year from tomorrow!!! I know that Val & I will already be in Hollywood a couple of days beforehand.

We cannot wait. We are looking so forward to this tour. Even though we have been to S. California many times this will be a new experience for us. We are also planning on arriving a few days early.

Looking forward to this tour. Candlelight might be on the 1st. We might prenight at DL to see it. Looking forward to imagineering

Never gave the Candlelight a thought. We have seen the WDW version many times but never the DL version. We were planning on arriving at least a couple of days early so will have to give this a thought.

Wow! So far away, yet I know the time will fly. So looking forward to being there and having my mind blown.

It will go fast.

I see several people mentioning doing stuff at DL before the start of the actual ABD. Just keep in mind that this ABD starts in Hollywood (you stay at the Loews at Hollywood & Highland) which is quite a ways from Anaheim. If you're going to do DL stuff beforehand, you'll probably need to book a hotel at DL separately and plan on your own airport transportation to that hotel, plus transportation up to Hollywood for the start of the ABD.

Nothing insurmountable but it does add some complexity. OTOH, you could add days on the other end of the trip to spend more time at DL which would be logistically easier.

Candlelight is very different - no tickets standing room only

This is a good point. I also need to figure out plan to get from San Diego to LA area and back. I might train. Normally I drive but no where to leave car with the move. Candlelight is a big draw for us. We find it very moving

Good info. I think we will prenight in the grand so we can do candlelight plus or minus napa

Morgan and I cannot believe it is under a year. Morgan works retail so we really can only be gone the 1-7. We have decided to add a day on each end. If we fly in early on the 1st we may go to the Farmers Market for a few hours. Thinking about Universal VIP early for the 2nd. Then be back in time for dinner

I am also excited. You would think that living in Southern California I would've done the VIP but still on my to do list

Thanks Kevin, and hello everyone! I am super excited to be joining all of you on this trip! This is my first ABD and my first time visiting Disneyland. Forgive me if I'm bouncing off of the walls with excitement this whole trip. I am a huge Disney fan and I've been to World many times. This trip is like a pilgrimage to the motherland for me :worship:.

213 days to go!
