2018 Princess Half Marathon

Based on these medals, is everyone assuming the theme for the Half is Snow White? Probably an obvious question, but just wanted to be sure. Love the apple medal!

Makes sense. I mean, since I land (usually) in the early morning and wouldn’t be able to get to the expo until 9ish anyway, I would never consider Vip as being a perk of race retreat. But now...

I’m doing all 3 races so I’m really excited about the medals! We hadn’t planned to go to the Expo until mid afternoon so the noon opening may mean it will be more crowded than in the past at around 3:00. Oh well, we’ll just enjoy the day and rest up for the craziness of 3 races!

Haha well I guess I should switch my HM outfit to the 10K now! I'm glad Merida is a race outfit I was already planning on wearing, but I already ran as Snow White for the 2015 PHM, so I'm wondering if I should do it again or switch it up.

I am so excited for these medals!! I absolutely love Brave (ran as Merida last year) so am beyond thrilled that the 10K medal is Brave. The half and challenge medals are both gorgeous!

So first, the 5K and 10K go through EP, but start and end in the parking lot, so all race participants will finish outside of the park. You can turn around and walk back into EP after the race, once the park opens, but you'll need a park ticket to do so. Both races start at 5:30 and the very last runners will start by 6:30, so you'll start sometime within that span of time, depending on what you entered for an estimated finish time (faster times start earlier.) If we assume a 6:30 start and the full 16:00/mile pace allowed, you would be done with the 5K around 7:30am, and the 10K around 8:10am - tack on another 20 minutes for getting medals, taking pics, getting food, etc. and figure you can be walking to your car by 8am for the 5K and 8:30am for the 10K. Plenty of time to get somewhere for breakfast!

While there is a lot of information for the events, I still feel a little overwhelmed with my planning for this trip! I don’t really know what to expect so it’s been difficult to plan accordingly, but your reply was a huge help!

You are most welcome! I found the whole rD thing to be super overwhelming my first couple races, too, so I'm happy to share any experience I can do to help others work it out.

I think I'm one of a few who doesn't love Snow White, but the medal is pretty and on the subtler side so I'm not complaining! I am in LOVE with the other medals!!!! So excited! I've always been nervous racing in costumes but I did a Santa 5k earlier this month dressed as a Who so I think I might try to come up with some ideas for Princess. Does anyone know of a good company that will let you put custom lettering on decent workout wear? Racing in a cotton tee sounds absolutely awful.

I have used different shops on Etsy that have had really good quality shirts and skirts for running. If you search on there I am sure you can find something that works! I have used Rock City Skirts, Fit 4 A Princess Shop and BlackbirdFly Boutique.

Iglowrunning is another option, As is Raw threads shirts for simpler look. I personally love Sparkleskirts for bottoms
