~~~~ Sew, help me... A bittersweet "Epic Girls Trip"... January 2018! ~~~~ UPDATE 1/7!!~~
Merry Christmas!!
Make the shirt!!! I’m sure it will look great!!
Yay for the boyfriend, how exciting!!
Hopefully they will be able to fix your car in a speedy time. Chris was heading to his work Christmas party the other night and a deer hit him too. I swear we haven’t had a great time with vehicles in the last 3 years. My Kia the newest car I ever had got t-boned by a kid who just pulled out an alley without looking, then I barely had it back from the shop and we were 3 Days our from driving to dis year when a huge deer came out of no where. Then last March a gas and oil truck was on my side of the road and clipped me when trying to not hit me head on. Thankfully he wasn’t in the Kia when this feedback hit bc I think the the Kia is cursed lol.
My shop and prep list was huge. I went shopping after work yesterday and then. Came home and tried to get a bunch of stuff done m, I did great until 3pm then Chris told me I had to go lay down for a few hours well 15 hours later I woke up lol. Now I’m snuggling with my cat, a cup of coffee and the dis...next I need to get cooking.
Merry Christmas.
In other news... V has a boy in her life (Carter) - that became "official" last week. :lovestruc We are hoping to meet him soon - he lives about 1.5 hours away, they met through a girl that V works with... She took my car the other day to visit him - and on her way home, she hit something - well actually something hit her... So, I guess I will be taking my car in to have a repair estimate done on it. Sigh. It's not nearly as bad as the pictures make it look... The grill doesn't have any damage, just my hood.
That is nice that Victoria has a boyfriend. :) But not good news about your car. That happened to me when our son borrowed my car and it got hit by someone making an illegal left turn,. It wasn't his fault but was definitely a big inconvenience. I hope the other driver will pay for all the repairs to your car.
I have to brave the madness of "day before Christmas" shopping today - as I need ONE brick of cream cheese for my potatoes... I had it on my list - but I thought it was to remind myself for Allison's cheese ball she made to take to work... Not for me. LOL But it was for me. I think I am losing it.
I made a mashed potato casserole one Christmas. Unfortunately, I was the only one who liked it. Everyone else in the family wanted the normal mashed potatoes instead. :(
The grocery store was crazy busy yesterday. The check out line was ten people deep at each register. I still need to run out for a couple of items. I spent yesterday making Christmas cookies but we still haven't finished decorating the house for Christmas. We don't have our party until Tuesday so we have been procrastinating very badly this year.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. :)
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Kids are pretty excited here, because it has been snowing today and they are hoping for a white Christmas. It will be the first we have had in quite a while.
Congratulations to V for having a boy in her life.
I'm so sorry to hear about your car. Crossing my fingers it won't cost too much to fix it.
Good luck with the masses out Christmas shopping today.
I can't wait to see your new shirt.
My new computer couldn't make a recovery disc which I wanted to make just in case I would need it in the future.
So I set my PC back to the state it came in and then it wouldn't go on the internet. My computer is a Dell computer. My last computer was also a Dell computer and I got so good support for my old PC that I just had to get a new Dell PC because of the good support. Well, since I couldn't get my computer on the internet all of the sudden I had to call support last night. I got help and after about 45 minutes on the phone I got my computer back on the internet. Crossing my fingers it will stay on the internet from now on.
I had to go out of the house today to pick up the Christmas gift from me to Ulf that my sister who lives in England had with her to Tromsø. Ulf want's a long night shirt and they doesn't sell those in Norway. Last time he needed one we bought one when we visited London, England. So I asked my sister if I could order a night shirt and get it mailed to her house so she could take it to Tromsø. She was kind and said yes. I also decided to get my car washed since it's 26.6ºF outside and it's going to stay around that temperature for the coming week. When it's cold outside the car will stay clean longer since it's not so dirty out side. The car wash is near the mall and there was a lot of cars on their way to the mall. I'm so glad I didn't have to stay in line with all the cars that where on their way to the mall.
Last night it started snowing again. We got 1.5 inch of snow during the night to today. It's not snowing today.
Thank you Lillian! :lovestruc
Hopefully your computer is now up and working well. We always order from Dell too - can't beat the good customer support!
That was very nice of your sister to pick up Ulf's gift from you and bring it with her. I love it when people can coordinate gift giving like that - in order to get something that someone really likes. :) Great job!
Merry Christmas Lillian! :hug:
I need to check off my grocery list too and clean the house because I am hosting. Breakfast here on Christmas morning, 5 out of 6 kids live local and 5 grandkids. So 14 people at my house. I love having the grandkids and I'm so blessed to have them live close by. Sorry about your car, I hit a deer a few weeks ago... first time that has ever happened. And I just got my car back yesterday, luckily the damage wasn't too bad, but the cost is always$$$. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
WOW!!! I sure hope you were able to get everything done and ready in time... You are likely cooking right about now? ::yes:: Enjoy every moment!
Yikes!!! Glad you were able to get it fixed... I probably won't even get mine in for an estimate until later this week.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. :lovestruc
Sorry you couldn't have Jonathan for Christmas but he'll probably be happy with his foster family.
Too bad we don't live closer. I have an extra brick of cream cheese in my fridge you could have. It looks like you'll be busy the next few days.
I have to brave the crowds on the roads to go to work in little while. they are feeding us all weekend,though.
Congrats to V. for meets someone. Hope you get to meet him soon.
Speaking of things running into cars, my daughter saw on her way to work Thursday when a deer ran out a side street and into her Jeep. There's a big dent in the left quarter panel where the gas cap is. there was deer fur stuck to it. He managed to side swipe the whole left side. She was not hurt and the deer was okay. This was the second time her Jeep was hit. The first time someone didn't use her parking brake and the car rolled into the Jeep. Of course the girl didn't have insurance.
Have a Merry Christmas and try not to work too hard.
Liz
Yes - he is just as happy with them as he is with us - he is easy to please. :)
Hahaha - thanks! I would have taken you up on that offer too! ::yes::
I hope you have a nice weekend - bummer that you have to work.
It looks like we may be meeting him on Wednesday... :scratchin
Yikes! I have heard of deer doing that, that and jumping over cars - but using the car to propel them further - so denting the roof. :eek: So glad she is OK - hopefully she is able to get it fixed quickly. ::yes::
Merry Christmas Liz! :hug:
Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you too!
Hahaha, yes I will be making the shirt... I made a "test" one the other day - and whoa - my sizing is weird... I need an XL for the body portion and a small for the arms. :lmao: Talk about awkward! I think I may need to start to up my bicep curls? LOL
New boyfriends always make me nervous... ::yes:: I am sure he is nice... I just trust very few people with my girls. ::yes::
Jeez! You too???? Yikes! Glad he is OK - but yah - I'd start to think something was up with the Kia! ::yes::
LOL - I wish!!!! I have not been sleeping well at all lately... I slept really well last night though - but I forced myself to get up at 4 am so I could see Allison open her stocking before she had to leave for work... So, now I am up drinking coffee. ::yes:: I may try to take a nap later?
Merry Christmas to you and yours! :lovestruc
I'd just prefer that they never grow up at all. :lmao: Ahhh - but that's not going to happen. It looks like we finally get to meet him on Wednesday night. ::yes::
Yikes! No other driver in this incident... She isn't sure what she hit - it was dark out... She thinks it was a rock? Josh and I aren't sure? I guess, at this point - it doesn't even matter - we just need to get it fixed. ::yes:: I hope your son was OK?
I hate it when that happens... My make ahead mashed potatoes aren't really a casserole - well maybe? :scratchin It's just potatoes, butter, sour cream, cream cheese and dried minced onion... Salt and pepper too... They are really good - I've given out the recipe many times here and I know that many make them now for the holidays. They are the girls' favorite and we can't do any holiday without them. LOL
Our Target was OK the other day... That's why I am going to miss it... It was never hard to shop there. Oh well - next year, I'll be looking for ways to make my own cream cheese rather than go out to buy it the day before Christmas Eve. LOL Kidding - sort of. ::yes::
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well Sue! :lovestruc
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Kids are pretty excited here, because it has been snowing today and they are hoping for a white Christmas. It will be the first we have had in quite a while.
giphy.gif
Thank you - Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! We also got a very light dusting of snow last night - it was very light snow though and it's pretty much blown away during the night. ::yes::
Enjoy your day! :lovestruc
**************************************************************************************************************
Meh... I wasn't going to check in today... But I wanted to get up to see Allison open her stocking before she had to leave for work... The rest of the family is sleeping and updating my PTR is a nice quiet way to pass the time until they get up. ::yes::
I seem to have come down with a Christmas cold... Nothing too terrible... but enough that my nose is plugged and I couldn't taste the prime rib dinner last night that I've been so looking forward to for weeks. Figures... :scratchin I guess - a person can't overeat if they can't taste it. LOL Well, you can, but it's difficult. ::yes::
We've had a busy few days, prepping for our big Christmas Eve last night...
V even got into the spirit with the dogs... Sadly Allison was at work - like two ships passing in the night - I had to settle for one girl and both dogs...
216BE89F-70C6-4404-A15F-CC5D78B895EA.jpg
Allison stopped and picked up Grandpa on her way home from work last night - it was wonderful to have him here... Him and his darn hair - LOL - I combed it twice while he was here and it still was all over the place. :lmao:
3445B7E8-D43A-4CD3-B685-3ED2B4FF010C.jpg
Josh's Dad gave us fun shirts from Hawaii - and coordinating hats... We don't normally open gifts from other family until Christmas morning - but obviously - he wanted us to open these early so we could wear them.
45883DA2-9912-43FF-9815-6A5C5A9369F7.jpg
Dinner last night.... Prime rib, Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, Au Jus, carrots, broccoli... (on my Grandmother's China) I forgot to set out the wedge salads - so we will likely have those with lasagna today... From what I could taste of the meal, it was good. LOL I was a little bummed though - I've never made Yorkshire pudding before - this was an experiment - and I couldn't taste them anyways. They looked good though. ::yes::
From our table last night - and Josh being a goof ball because he didn't want his picture taken... :/
One picture from before we opened gifts... but otherwise - I took NO pictures of gift opening at all. Which is odd for me! I really just enjoyed the moment and watching everyone opening their gifts.
73890102-9F2E-4CA3-9541-1FCDFD72450A.jpg
We had my trifle for dessert, and then Allison and I took Grandpa home.
One of my gifts from Josh - How can anyone even take me seriously wearing these??? I love them so much and every time I look at my feet, I crack up. :lmao:
2237E629-0EB7-4C7C-8356-89F17470D343.jpg
I few things I received... A bunch of nice new tops - a Columbia fleece jacket from Josh - which is a size too small, so I will need to exchange it... V got me a beautiful Pandora bracelet (my first one) with some Disney beads and a Coliseum charm from Rome (these are now added to my Disney wish list while we are on our trip) and a beautiful holiday Alex and Ani bracelet. :lovestruc From Allison - I got a new Fitbit Alta band (my polka dot one has been utterly destroyed because the dots were peeling off - you can kind of see it in the above photo of Josh and I) - a new Disney shirt with a puffer vest - a pair of polka dot Isotoner mittens... And from Josh - a few new shirts, my new slippers, a GIANT portable battery for while we are in WDW... I feel like I am missing so much. I am just grateful for everything - and KNOWING that all of us saved up, budgeted and paid cash for everything - it's just the icing on the cake. :lovestruc
This morning... Since our house is "grown up" - and no Santa gifts under the tree... We still open stockings, and then we open gifts from other family members... Grand parents, aunts, uncles, friends. :lovestruc
Today, V is off, but Allison works until 2. Allison will pick up Grandpa after work again today and bring him out for dinner... Lasagna. Today will be a much shorter day for him, and he will likely want to go home after dessert (leftover trifle).
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are surrounded by those who love you! :lovestruc
I hope you get well from the Christmas cold soon :hug:
Nice pictures of you all. Looks like you all had a good time last night.
Your Christmas dinner looks really good.
I love your new slippers. :lovestruc
We were 14 people celebrating Christmas at my parents house last night. In Norway people open their gifts in the evening on the 24th December and since my niece and nephew was celebrating Christmas with us this year Santa Claus came to visit with gifts for everyone. The children was so tired after dinner at 6pm so we had to call Santa and make him come before we had dessert. After Santa came with one gift for everyone at the party we had dessert and then everyone except me and my dad goes around the Christmas tree singing Carols. My back hurts really bad if I try to go around the Christmas tree so I've stopped doing that many years ago. I sit in the sofa watching everyone else going around the Christmas tree and singing along while my dad plays the piano. My nephew who is 2 years old was so tired by now so he went to bed without opening any Christmas presents. He will open them when he wakes up in the morning.
Afterwards it was time for the rest of the Christmas presents. After all the presents were opened my niece who is 4 years old also went to bed. The rest of us (all grown ups) continued the party with cakes and chatted for a long time. Ulf always celebrate Christmas with my family and this year was no exception. At 10.45pm we went home.
Today everyone is having dinner at my grandmothers house. After today I'm done celebrating Christmas. Ulf and I are as usual invited to my parents house for Christmas Eve. They have the best view of the fireworks.
The stores are closed until Wednesday, but then I have to go to the store and get some groceries and the Christmas sale starts then and I have a few things I need that I didn't bother to go and buy before Christmas because of all the people in the stores. And one of the things I need (two new pillowcases) are on sale so they are even cheaper than they were last week.
I love the Christmas shirts!!!
I know, my nieces who are like my own have all started dating, and I am skeptical of every boy they bring home lol. Is anyone ever good enough for our babies though? I am so glad Carson isn't into girls at this time and date lol, that all may change in junior high!!
Awesome gifts all around, I think I am going to start collecting Alex and Ani at WDW, I bought a few for gifts this year and really liked them for myself also lol.
My hubby, bought me a wine cooler, we love wine and live near Ohio Wine Country so we take several trips a year to restock the wine cupboard and I have been asking for a wine cooler, so he bought one, then it got credited back to his account, so he bought it again, then that one got credited back and he didn't get an online confirmation for either, so he went to the store and bought it in person, now we have 3 sitting in my garage :tongue: so he is supposed to take 2 back today "hopefully".
Merry Christmas! It looks and sounds like you had a great holiday! My grandmother always made Yorkshire pudding as she is British and it’s something she used to eat all the time when she lived in England. I love Yorkshire pudding but haven’t eaten it since she passed away. I must try to find her recipe in my mom’s recipe box and make it. Our holiday was very nice, too. Today we are doing absolutely nothing and I’m loving every minute of it!
Sorry about your car. That stinks! My car got a nice dent in it, too, a few weeks ago when it was parked in a parking lot. It was definitely hit by something - another car or a cart? I don’t know for sure but no paint came off. I’m trying to decide if I should get it fixed or not. I’d like to fix it since it’s only four years old and we plan on keeping it forever. I just don’t want to pay for it, lol.
Enjoy your time “off” this week. I know I will. :D
My apologies - no time for replies this morning... I just wanted to stop by and post a few Disney/trip related pictures... :lovestruc
First off is the Pandora and the Alex and Ani bracelets I received for Christmas... the Pandora bracelet and 2 of the beads came from V, and 5 of the other beads came from BMTL - it's a great start! Then V got me the holiday AnA collection of the Moon... She plans to get the coordinating Stars set for herself - so we have a set together. :lovestruc
Another gift I received is from my good friend Lillian, who I've met through The Dis... Every year she sends me a calendar from Norway and I hang it in my sewing room - I love this because I get to learn more about her country/City/traditions. :lovestruc Thank you Lillian for thinking of me!
Finally - I made the shirt to go with my Toy Story set for our trip... I am soooooo excited about it! :woohoo: I don't often get to work with knits, and when I found knit cow fabric - I couldn't resist... This was a new pattern to me too, and I couldn't be happier with it! It's a little more "out there" for me, as I typically don't try to match this much... :scratchin
561A670C-2663-48EF-AB93-4795A5CCA6E0.jpg
I'd love to make a couple more of these for our trip, but we'll see... I am sort of running out of time. ::yes::
I hope you all had an amazing holiday! Prayers and pixie dust to all! :lovestruc
D~
Lovely bracelets you got for Christmas :lovestruc
I'm so glad you like the calendar from my home city (you probably would call it town. We are about 59 000 inhabitants in Tromsø city). It's fun to be able to show you some pictures from Tromsø
Your Toy Story set looks great. I can't wait to see the shirt on you.
I had to go to the grocery store at the mall today to get food that can last until 2nd of January. The stores are open from today until Saturday and then they are closed until the 2nd of January. I was afraid that there would be A LOT of people at the mall since today is the big exchange day at every store. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. I got almost everything I needed at the store. I had forgot to write down what I need to be able to make homemade ice cream and they didn't have the vanilla I need for the ice cream so I will have to go to another store tomorrow. I also had a few things I need at 2 other stores that is located at the mall. I got the pillow cases I wanted and went back home. When I came home a discovered that the pillow cases I bought was too small. Clearly my had wasn't with me when I was at the store buying the pillow cases. I decided to drive back to the store to exchange the pillow cases while they still have the ones on sale left in the store. I was afraid that there would be even more people at the mall now because of the time of the day. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. I was able to exchange the pillows cases to the right size and drove back home again. I was sure that now it had to be a lot of cars on the road, but it wasn't. So it went fast to get back home again.
Today fish is on the menu for dinner. Normally I have fish for dinner 2 times a week, but now because of Christmas it has only been meat on the menu.
Ulf is going to make cured salmon. It takes 3 days until it's finished so I will have that around new year.
Hey there Dorine! It has been a crazy few days lately and just got caught up. January is almost here for you!!!
Tyler and Ariece got in very, very late Saturday and we left almost immediately to a late showing of Star Wars. They saw various friends Sunday and went to an early afternoon church service then met us at my SIL house. Usual crazy Christmas Eve at my SIL. Then Monday was our day to open gifts and eat and eat and eat and catch up. It was wonderful. They went home at lunch time Tuesday. I am back at work today and missing them like crazy.
Your Dad looks amazing in your photos. I cannot believe how "adult" your girls look. Its like you know they are adults, but where in the world did that time go? I have seen them really change the last couple of years. They are so beautiful, inside and out. I cannot wait to hear more about Carter.
Your Christmas Eve dinner looked delish. Well done. I love the festive shirts and hats. Your bracelets are so beautiful. Your girls did good.
I have more down time now and I will be anxiously following along. I am loving all of your outfits. Good job on the packing! I am the worst of the worst at over packing.
Sending love and a huge hug.
I am going to join in on the fun. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Pictures aren't downloading tonight for some reason so I can't view all of your lovely Christmas gifts right now but I am sure they are awesome. Love all your bags, have checked them out on FB. I still love my Toy Story bag I purchased from you, I carry it with me to all places. One of my favorites.
I hope your son was OK?
The airbag saved him from getting injured. And since it was mostly a head on collision, the airbag cushioned it well. Thank God for airbags!
I guess - a person can't overeat if they can't taste it. LOL Well, you can, but it's difficult. ::yes::
That's a good way to turn lemons into lemonade. Your dinner looks like it was delicious. :)
Josh's Dad gave us fun shirts from Hawaii - and coordinating hats... We don't normally open gifts from other family until Christmas morning - but obviously - he wanted us to open these early so we could wear them.
Those shirts are great. Now you have a new Christmas tradition - crazy Hawaiian shirts. ;)
One of my gifts from Josh - How can anyone even take me seriously wearing these??? I love them so much and every time I look at my feet, I crack up. :lmao:
Those slippers are really cute.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are surrounded by those who love you!
We had a lovely Christmas with most of the family. It is always nice to have everyone together. :)
First off is the Pandora and the Alex and Ani bracelets I received for Christmas.
Now you have something to shop for in Disney. ;)
I made the shirt to go with my Toy Story set for our trip... I am soooooo excited about it!
That shirt is adorable. I would love to see you wearing it.
I haven't commented in a while but I do check in every day. Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! So nice your Dad was close by this year. We moved my mom here over 4 years ago. Yesterday I drove to her town to close out a bank account and realized how very tedious that drive was. So glad that's behind me! We had a great Christmas and so enjoyed our 1 year old grandson. He sure livens up our house! Your trip is coming up fast! We were there Dec. 2-9 and it was wonderful. Great weather, crowds more than I would have liked but very manageable. I will be anxious to read about your girls trip!
I love the Santa shirts. I have to find them for next year! I like your toy story top. I have one or two dresses that I love that I wish I had in a bunch of colors and have always toyed with making my own . ahhh new years resolutions to be craftier? :-) Enjoy the new year and stay warm. We are single digits here for a few more days but not as cold as I saw the upper midwest was. Just think how warm the Florida sun will feel after that! Work has been swamped and home is equally crazy so I haven't stayed caught up. Safe travels if I don't get back here before you trip.
I hope you get well from the Christmas cold soon
Nice pictures of you all. Looks like you all had a good time last night.
Thank you - I am feeling much better... It was honestly a tiny cold and I truly wasn't miserable at all... Just couldn't smell or taste anything. ::yes::
Thank you Lillian - we had a wonderful Christmas!
It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas too! I love hearing about your traditions! :lovestruc
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Your Christmas eve dinner looks very good. I like the shirts and hats from Josh's dad.
It sounds like you got a lot of nice presents this year.
Max still doesn't loos thrilled in that picture with V.
I'm going over my daughter's later on for dinner and then coming home to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special.
Enjoy your day
Thank you - same to you Liz!
Yes - those shirts are very nice... Mine is quite big, but Josh assures me that is the style of them. LOL
I did - we are very fortunate.
LOL - MM is never thrilled when he has to wear a hat and beard. LOL
I hope you enjoyed your Christmas too! Happy New Year!
I love the Christmas shirts!!!
Awesome gifts all around, I think I am going to start collecting Alex and Ani at WDW, I bought a few for gifts this year and really liked them for myself also lol.
My hubby, bought me a wine cooler, we love wine and live near Ohio Wine Country so we take several trips a year to restock the wine cupboard and I have been asking for a wine cooler, so he bought one, then it got credited back to his account, so he bought it again, then that one got credited back and he didn't get an online confirmation for either, so he went to the store and bought it in person, now we have 3 sitting in my garage :tongue: so he is supposed to take 2 back today "hopefully".
Thanks! They were so fun to wear! We also have some from the 4th of July from him from the same company... We have tons of matching shirts between the two of us, and I think 90% of them come from Josh's dad. LOL
Yes - it's definitely a nail biter when they are interested in a new boy... This one seems OK... And bonus, Josh tolerates him. I wouldn't go as far as "like" yet - but tolerate is a good word. ::yes:: I am pretty social with everyone - so there are few people I don't enjoy. LOL
I love my AnA bracelets... My collection is quite gigantic - there is no way that I can wear them all at the same time anymore, it's just too much on my arm. I am still trying to decide which ones I want to bring down to Disney with me... Probably my Disney ones? :scratchin But I just haven't decided yet. You really have to watch them though - some of my very first ones are very tarnished, and it's very difficult to clean them - so they look pretty terrible. I hardly ever wear those for that reason - sadly they are all Disney ones that I paid a fortune for. :(
Hahahaha! Sounds like me with my winter coats! Hopefully the 2 extra got returned and you are enjoying the one you do have! ::yes::
Merry Christmas! It looks and sounds like you had a great holiday! My grandmother always made Yorkshire pudding as she is British and it’s something she used to eat all the time when she lived in England. I love Yorkshire pudding but haven’t eaten it since she passed away. I must try to find her recipe in my mom’s recipe box and make it. Our holiday was very nice, too. Today we are doing absolutely nothing and I’m loving every minute of it!
Sorry about your car. That stinks! My car got a nice dent in it, too, a few weeks ago when it was parked in a parking lot. It was definitely hit by something - another car or a cart? I don’t know for sure but no paint came off. I’m trying to decide if I should get it fixed or not. I’d like to fix it since it’s only four years old and we plan on keeping it forever. I just don’t want to pay for it, lol.
Enjoy your time “off” this week. I know I will.
Merry Christmas to you too! I wish I could say if I liked or disliked the Yorkshire puddings... I am going to have to make them again when I can taste them. LOL I hope you find your grandmother's recipe, I wish I had some of the recipes my grandmothers made...
Well... I took my car in this last week to get the belts replaced - just maintenance stuff - and my awesome mechanic got my dent out for me! :woohoo: I didn't ask, and he didn't charge me for it! There is still the tiniest ding there - but it's barely noticeable. Needless to say, we got him a nice gift for going over the top like that. ::yes:: I'll have to look at it closer - but I do think I can get away with just leaving it and not having it repaired. :woohoo:
Hopefully your car isn't too expensive to repair. ::yes::
Thanks! I am - it went by too quickly! ::yes::
Lovely bracelets you got for Christmas
I'm so glad you like the calendar from my home city (you probably would call it town. We are about 59 000 inhabitants in Tromsø city). It's fun to be able to show you some pictures from Tromsø
Your Toy Story set looks great. I can't wait to see the shirt on you.
I had to go to the grocery store at the mall today to get food that can last until 2nd of January. The stores are open from today until Saturday and then they are closed until the 2nd of January. I was afraid that there would be A LOT of people at the mall since today is the big exchange day at every store. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. I got almost everything I needed at the store. I had forgot to write down what I need to be able to make homemade ice cream and they didn't have the vanilla I need for the ice cream so I will have to go to another store tomorrow. I also had a few things I need at 2 other stores that is located at the mall. I got the pillow cases I wanted and went back home. When I came home a discovered that the pillow cases I bought was too small. Clearly my had wasn't with me when I was at the store buying the pillow cases. I decided to drive back to the store to exchange the pillow cases while they still have the ones on sale left in the store. I was afraid that there would be even more people at the mall now because of the time of the day. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. I was able to exchange the pillows cases to the right size and drove back home again. I was sure that now it had to be a lot of cars on the road, but it wasn't. So it went fast to get back home again.
Today fish is on the menu for dinner. Normally I have fish for dinner 2 times a week, but now because of Christmas it has only been meat on the menu.
Ulf is going to make cured salmon. It takes 3 days until it's finished so I will have that around new year.
Thank you! I'd really like to find either a black bracelet or get a plain silver one for the charms - just so it's more neutral with what I wear most often... I wear a LOT of black/gray/red combos. ::yes::
I love flipping the calendar over each month! It's so fun to read more about your town! :lovestruc
Thank you - I really love that shirt pattern... I have plans to make a few more shirts from it. I am so excited to wear it in Disney! :woohoo:
Wow! So glad you were able to exchange the pillow cases - twice. Sounds just like something I would do. LOL Glad it wasn't too busy and you were able to get it done. :)
Mmmmm... That sounds delicious! I love salmon! We haven't had fish in a while - I think maybe we need to have it soon. ::yes::
Have a happy New Year Lillian! :lovestruc
Hey there Dorine! It has been a crazy few days lately and just got caught up. January is almost here for you!!!
Tyler and Ariece got in very, very late Saturday and we left almost immediately to a late showing of Star Wars. They saw various friends Sunday and went to an early afternoon church service then met us at my SIL house. Usual crazy Christmas Eve at my SIL. Then Monday was our day to open gifts and eat and eat and eat and catch up. It was wonderful. They went home at lunch time Tuesday. I am back at work today and missing them like crazy.
Your Dad looks amazing in your photos. I cannot believe how "adult" your girls look. Its like you know they are adults, but where in the world did that time go? I have seen them really change the last couple of years. They are so beautiful, inside and out. I cannot wait to hear more about Carter.
Your Christmas Eve dinner looked delish. Well done. I love the festive shirts and hats. Your bracelets are so beautiful. Your girls did good.
I have more down time now and I will be anxiously following along. I am loving all of your outfits. Good job on the packing! I am the worst of the worst at over packing.
Sending love and a huge hug.
Right! ::yes:: I can't believe how quickly our trip is coming!
It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas - with all of your babies home! Nothing better! I know you miss them so much - as would I. :hug:
Yah - Dad looks really good... but Allison and I were talking the other day - and he has changed drastically over these last couple of years. :( Time is taking it's toll.
I am so proud of the girls - I maybe shouldn't brag on them as much as I do - but as a mom, my only goal was to raise good human beings - and I feel like I did that. :lovestruc And they love me, so that's a bonus too. :woohoo:
Thank you - it was truly an amazing Christmas! We all enjoyed ourselves a lot!
Hehehe... I am going to have to rip apart my suitcase again, LOL... I feel like I have too much in there and need to weed it out a bit. Not only that, but I am seriously debating ordering new luggage... :scratchin If I do - I need to order it soon, so I can get it in time to repack for our trip. ::yes::
Sending you big hugs Carol!!! And wishing you a Happy New Year! :hug:
I am going to join in on the fun. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Pictures aren't downloading tonight for some reason so I can't view all of your lovely Christmas gifts right now but I am sure they are awesome. Love all your bags, have checked them out on FB. I still love my Toy Story bag I purchased from you, I carry it with me to all places. One of my favorites.
Welcome! My apologies that I am unsure of who you are? LOL I am so terrible with piecing Dis names to real names. :) But welcome just the same - it's great to have you here! :lovestruc
Hopefully the rest of the pictures show up soon. ::yes::
Thank you - I am glad you are enjoying it! :lovestruc
Wishing you a Happy New Year! :)
The airbag saved him from getting injured. And since it was mostly a head on collision, the airbag cushioned it well. Thank God for airbags!
That's a good way to turn lemons into lemonade. Your dinner looks like it was delicious
Those shirts are great. Now you have a new Christmas tradition - crazy Hawaiian shirts.
Those slippers are really cute.
We had a lovely Christmas with most of the family. It is always nice to have everyone together.
Now you have something to shop for in Disney.
That shirt is adorable. I would love to see you wearing it.
Yes! Definitely thankful for airbags! I have a recall out on mine right now - and according to the letter I received the other day - they are "working on a fix" and will notify me when they can fix it... Until then, I am not supposed to let anyone ride in my passenger seat - if the airbag deploys, schards of metal come flying out with the airbag, causing great injury or death. :eek: :(
LOL - I tend to be a "glass half full" girl - which annoys my family sometimes. ::yes::
Hehehe... They are fun! I think mine is a bit big on me, but Josh assures me that it's supposed to be that way. I love them though and they are unique and festive.
Hahhaa... Still wearing the slippers! I love them so much!
So happy to hear that you had a nice Christmas! Did you have to travel at all?
LOL - I have a LOT I can shop for in Disney... Too much sometimes. LOL
Thanks! I don't think we are meeting up that day? Though it was an option... I'll definitely have pictures of me wearing it though. ::yes::
Wishing you a Happy New Year Sue! :hug:
I haven't commented in a while but I do check in every day. Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! So nice your Dad was close by this year. We moved my mom here over 4 years ago. Yesterday I drove to her town to close out a bank account and realized how very tedious that drive was. So glad that's behind me! We had a great Christmas and so enjoyed our 1 year old grandson. He sure livens up our house! Your trip is coming up fast! We were there Dec. 2-9 and it was wonderful. Great weather, crowds more than I would have liked but very manageable. I will be anxious to read about your girls trip!
Hi! Glad to see you here and posting! :)
We did - thank you - it was so nice to have Dad here with us!
Oh yah - I can only imagine. I honestly haven't been back to Dad's old town since we moved him here - it's so nice to not have to do that drive anymore! ::yes:: Though I do need to go there soon to have some repair work done at my jeweler. ::yes:: My wedding ring keeps snagging things - so I think one of my prongs may be damaged. :(
So happy to hear that you had a great Christmas! I bet that having your grandson there was just icing on the cake! I can only imagine how fun it must have been for you!
I am hoping for great weather for our trip too... Believe me - I have lots of warm clothes packed. If it's nice out while we are there, I may be in trouble - or wearing the same 3 outfits for the whole trip. LOL
Wishing you a Happy New Year Rene! :hug:
I love the Santa shirts. I have to find them for next year! I like your toy story top. I have one or two dresses that I love that I wish I had in a bunch of colors and have always toyed with making my own . ahhh new years resolutions to be craftier? :-) Enjoy the new year and stay warm. We are single digits here for a few more days but not as cold as I saw the upper midwest was. Just think how warm the Florida sun will feel after that! Work has been swamped and home is equally crazy so I haven't stayed caught up. Safe travels if I don't get back here before you trip.
Thanks! I believe he ordered them from the Aloha Shirt Company - or something very similar to that. I know there is Aloha and Shirt in the name. ::yes::
Thanks! I am so excited to wear it on our trip - and the fact that it actually looks nice AND flattering on me is a true bonus! :woohoo: You should try it! I am having so much fun making a few things for myself these days - it's not often that I get to and it really helps keep me creative. ::yes:: That is a great New Years resolution!
It is very cold here right now... To the point in winter where it's just SO COLD that you can't even be cold anymore. LOL I will say that my long black EB parka is getting a lot of use right now - and I LOVE it so much! ::yes:: I am sure hoping that Florida is warmer while we are there.
Thank you! Happy New Year to you! :hug:
**************************************************************************************************************
So... I plan to do a trip update today as well for one of our days off... But let me update you on our last few days first... Anything trip related, I tried to BOLD, so it's easier to read/find, if you don't want to read all of the other chatter. ;)
Ok - so this week has been a little crazy! I thought, for sure, with both girls out of school and no such thing as "Christmas break" anymore - that this would be the last year I take a "Christmas break" for myself... Let's just say - I am so glad I did. ::yes::
With Christmas itself being on Monday - I lost that day to the holiday.
Tuesday - I couldn't even tell you what I did, LOL... I was so exhausted from Christmas activities and getting Dad situated - I think I just did nothing. :scratchin
Wednesday - I worked a really early and odd shift at Target. I am almost certain that this was my last shift there, due to all of the vacation time I had to use/lose - so I used it. ::yes:: Pretty sad, our store is looking very bare... Though none of it is walled off yet - it will happen very soon, as we don't have enough product to fill the entire space anymore.
Wednesday night - Carter came for dinner... V made spaghetti... He is a very nice boy and Josh seemed to be OK with him. This is good... I wouldn't go as far to say that he "liked" him - but tolerate is a good word. ::yes:: Let's just say - it could be MUCH worse.
Thursday was a big day - so this one will be long - all 3 of us girls had the day off - it was wonderful! It rarely happens. We hit Target first and purchased all of our Disney GCs that we needed for dining for our trip. :woohoo: So, that is done. All we have left to "pay off" is our resort (at check in), baggage fees and town car. Then we decided to go to the MOA to do a few exchanges... Roads were terrible and we saw many, many accidents on our way there - which made Allison and I VERY nervous... My car was still in the shop (routine maintenance) - so V was driving, and she didn't have much experience in her car yet. Let's just say that Allison and I each let out a few startled noises. LOL But we made it, and it was so BUSY! Let's see... We hit the Alex and Ani store - Where V purchased the matching Star bracelet to my Moon bracelet she gave me for Christmas... She also got the 9 3/4 Harry Potter bracelet... Her collection is starting to look much like mine. LOL
19A46F0D-9F14-4220-B3DE-DABA7DF41648.jpg
From AnA, we planned to go to Pandora to exchange my too big bracelet - but they were closed... Lights off, doors locked! We assumed it was the weather - someone couldn't make it in. So, we went to The Disney Store, where I exchanged the two shirts I purchased for V and I - they ran really small. I was happy that they had the exact same ones still - as I had purchased them back during Halloween time frame. Then we hit Box Lunch... And this is where it gets interesting... Allison found this sweater (now that I found it online, it appears to be a men's sweater - but I am not going to tell her that, as it looks really cute on her)...
http://www.boxlunch.com/product/harry-potter-potions-cardigan/10953313.html
Which in turn prompted the girls to decide to take a side trip to Universal while we are in Florida. :eek: Yes, FYI, a sweater CAN make a trip happen. LOL So, the girls are taking one of our days off to go to Universal and do Harry Potter... While they are doing that - I will be meeting Cindy to spend the day with her. :woohoo: I WAS going to go with them to US, but... Read below...
After Box Lunch - we hit the Apple store so Allison could get a replacement "dongle" for her Iphone. We went back to Pandora to see if they were open, but they were still closed. So we left the mall - it was so crazy!
Then we drove to another mall... I literally ran in, returned the too small Columbia fleece jacket Josh got me for Christmas (the replacement was already ordered and on it's way), and we left immediately. Both girls stayed in the car.
We stopped at Chipotle for lunch... Then we drove to my mechanic to get my car, because it was ready. I just love our mechanic - I know I've said this before... but we pulled up, my car was parked outside... no dent! :eek: Like literally - I walked up to my car and REALLY LOOKED at it - I could see the scarcest of dings - but the dent itself was gone! He takes such great care of us. We walked into the shop, and he was on the phone, so all 3 of us stood there with smiles... he told the person on the phone "I've gotta go - I swear I am looking at triplets that just walked into the shop" LOL... he cracks me up! Anyways... Not only did I get all new belts on my car - but he fixed my dent - no charge for that part. Just an awesome guy! I went back the next morning and dropped off their Christmas gift, which I didn't have with me then... We decided weeks ago - since they really do take such great care of our cars, we would get them a GC to their favorite restaurant. I was so happy to be able to do that for them - they work hard and take very little time off. :lovestruc
Phew - finally we were home.
Sitting on the couch - I was bored... So, I started looking at airfare. :scratchin Shame on me. ::yes:: And I started to formulate a plan...
Friday morning, I sent Suzi a message... I knew she was going to be in Florida in February to visit her parents... I sort of imposed on their family trip and asked if I could come down for a few days. I haven't seen Suzi (Mo or Ariana either) since November 2015... 2+ years. :eek: It's time. She asked her parents if I could come down and they graciously "invited" me... So, yesterday morning - I booked myself a flight to Florida in February (NOT Orlando, or anywhere near) - with Josh's blessing (he said I could have gone to Maine too, and he would have been more than OK with that, but who wants to go to Maine in Feb???)... I used some of my Christmas $$ to pay for the flight. :lovestruc And Josh gave me permission to use some of my severance pay from Target to pay for the trip itself, when the time comes. Therefore... The girls are going to Universal Studios by themselves and I get to go see a dear friend! :lovestruc
All of this happened before 8am Friday morning. LOL
So, then I went grocery shopping... I visited Dad, and I visited Allison on her lunch hour at work... I came home and unloaded...
Shortly after - V and I got a text from Allison... She has been waiting for a LONG time for confirmation on this one... If her vacation time wouldn't have been approved for our trip, she would have had to find replacements or call in for the entire thing - which she didn't want to do.
061E7AFD-3E8F-43E0-BFE1-99F9C545E339.jpg
So, not only did she get it off - but this is her first official PAID vacation. :woohoo: Super proud of this girl!
Today - I have no plans... It's VERY COLD here - our forecast says "bitterly cold"... I may run into town - as I forgot one thing on my list from yesterday, but I may wait until tomorrow too??? :scratchin We'll see?
I've been doing great with my eating since Christmas... I indulged a little bit during that time - but I tried VERY hard to limit it to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - and even then, it was just a few crackers and trifle. ::yes:: I feel like I did very good over the holiday - I don't feel like I gained, but I don't feel like I lost either. I have not weighed. Any bloat that I had resulting from that, is gone.... I have a trip to look good for approaching quickly - so that is good motivation. ::yes:: And another trip after that now - which has more swimsuit potential than the first. LOL
Looking ahead... I am back to work upstairs on Monday. :woohoo: I am going to start to work on some side projects too - maybe get a start on some of that for spring? I wasn't planning to start so early - but I am losing a little time with that 2nd Florida trip. ::yes:: I will be working on re-packing my suitcase again... Still looking at getting new luggage? I now have 3 trips this year, for sure. We'll see? ::yes::
I will be doing one "Day off" update this morning... Those are pretty boring, but it keeps this PTR on point. ::yes::
Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year!!! Be safe out there! :lovestruc
Day Off #1
Well, Day off #1 is now interesting...
The girls will be getting up and getting ready early... EARLY... As they will be headed to Universal Studios for this entire day. They are paying for this themselves. This is the first time I am allowing them to go off on their own in Florida. That being said - they are "technically" adults... but still. :lovestruc We have a GOOD friend who works security at U/S... So he will be watching out for them that day (they don't know that, LOL)
I will stay out of the bathroom and out of the way until the girls leave - then I will get ready myself. :lovestruc
I am meeting Cindy for breakfast at one of my favorite restaurants...
I will be eating all of this...
20160118_103309.jpg
And maybe I'll be able to get Cindy to "fill in" for the girls in this photo op? :scratchin
After that... Who knows?
I am sure that Cindy and I will do a bit of shopping... We are very good at that. ::yes::
And likely a little more shopping... ::yes::
Did I mention shopping??? :scratchin
Ok - you probably get the idea.
I honestly don't know what we will do with the rest of our day? We have a few options available to us. I really like to take these days and play them by ear... Wander and enjoy. :lovestruc And "rest". :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I don't know how long the girls will last at U/S? If they will go open to close or if they will tucker out early? We'll see...
We got our first snowfall of the season here in my part of Ohio. I dreaded the drive home this morning all night and even packed a day bag Incase I was snowed in at work. It has happened before lol. But thankfully the roads weren’t too bad. I hate driving in the snow.
Chris returned the 2 extra wine coolers, mine is out full of wine. Waiting for me to have a day off lol. I put it on the craft area chris built me in the new garage and Carson said it was he perfect spot bc I could now drink wine and craft. Lol
That child of mine.
Sounds like quite an adventure at the MOA I will make it there one day too. We live near Pittsburgh PA and hey have some awesome malls there so we go there to hit our shopping and we have some outlets near by.
My sister gave me the Deathly hallows AnA for Christmas. I was so excited to
Get it.
Sounds the boyfriend is off to a good start at least if Josh can tolerate him. That will be me with Carson’s girl friends.
Yay for the extra trip. Florida in February sounds much better than Maine in February although I’m sure it’s beautiful!!
Happy New Year!!!
We love dinner at The Wave and scheduled a breakfast this trip. Can’t wait to hear how it is. Enjoy your day with Cindy!!! How fun!!
It must be a weird feeling having your last work day at Target.
Sounds like you got a lot done on Thursday and had a good time while doing it as well :)
How fun that you are able to meet Suzi again. I'm sure you guys will have a lot of fun.
Congratulations to Allison for getting her first paid vacation :woohoo:
How great that your eating has gone well during Christmas. It's not easy eating well during Christmas.
I imagine that the girls will have a lot of fun at Universal. How nice that you will be able to spend the day with Cindy while the girls are at Universal.
It has been 19.4ºF here yesterday (Friday) and today. That is cold for Tromsø.
Yesterday I was at a geocaching event in town meeting good geocaching friends. It was nice meeting them and hear what they have been up to during December.
Today I've just been at home. I had to charge the battery on my car and today was a good time to do it since I didn't have any plans for today.
Tomorrow on New Years Eve there is a short geocaching event in town that I will attend and later in the evening Ulf and I are going to my parents house to celebrate New Years Eve.
Happy New Year to you pixiedust:
