Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Our school calendar for next year has just been released and we will get out closer to Christmas but stay out further from New Years. As a result, we are considering a stay at the Boardwalk Villas at the end of next year. We plan to rent DVC points and check in on 12/29/18 and check out on 1/6/19. What are the odds that we will be able to secure a studio 11 months out? Are they all gone immediately? Thanks!

Just wanted to add my experience. We rented (through Davids) a studio this past October. I had contacted them 12 months ahead to get my name on the list, and had no trouble getting a studio (but not the cheapest standard). I know October is very popular due to food & wine, so you may have a good shot for your time frame. Obviously nothing is guaranteed. We loved our stay!

Just booked an AP rate for Feb 5th-8th at the BWI. We stayed at the Villas last year and loved it, so now we are trying out the Inn. Looking forward to it!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the AP rate? We are considering AP's and have read about discounts but were curious as to what they were. Thanks!

Looking at the resort map trying to decide what area to request. Is there a good mix of different villa types in each section? For example if I booked a one bedroom, how would I know what sections of the resort those are at?

We're booked at the BWI, Garden View room, from Friday 4/6-Monday 4/9. Disney blocked out our military discount for the days flanking Easter this year, (boooooo), so we'll be somewhere else Tues/Wed/Thurs. I've never stayed at the Boardwalk before, we're pretty excited.

Just like the previous post, the AP rate was $295. Pretty rare to see the Boardwalk cheaper than WL but it was about a $30 a night difference.

There are 1 bedrooms in all three view areas: Standard view, pool/garden view, and boardwalk view.

Just got back from our first (hopefully not last) stay at BWI. We were in Standard room 5306 from 12/21 to 12/26. It was fantastic seeing Illuminations every night right outside our window. Other than the nightly fireworks it was super quiet. Very relaxing. Front Desk and Mousekeeping were great. Here is a pic from the balcony should anyone be curious (fyi There is also a great view of Spaceship Earth too during non-fireworks).

However, Big River Grille was very disappointing in the beer and food. The menu, food quality and overall atmosphere needs a serious revamp (it would not take much). Servers were the only good thing going. Avoid at all costs. In all my years going to various things Disney this was probably the worst meal I have had. Pete may have a new place to add his extreme dislike of Tony's and Hollywood and Swine with this place. Shame because its a great location. :-(

We were pretty swamped with other things to do so we didn't get to explore the other resorts and activities in the area. Something to correct next time. All said would not hesitate to stay there again.

You were our neighbor for a night. We were in 5304 from 12-16 thru 12-22. We loved the location and the great views, too!

I just checked out of 5306 this morning! Checked in on 12/27. I requested 5302 so I was thrilled to be given 5306. Awesome location and view!

For those of you who have stayed in this set of rooms on the fifth floor, are the balcony railings open (slatted) like on the lower floors, or solid and closed in like the top floors of the WL and GF? The location looks fantastic!

Can someone remind me what sort of soap the dishwashers use in a 2 BR villa? Powder, pods, either?

I can't remember, but they provide it for you and I believe you can call Housekeeping and get more at no charge if you need it. I think it was powder in an individual packet?
