Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

It's so tough when you work in a school system! Ideally, it would be nice to enjoy 1/1 and fly (or drive, but it sounds like you fly) back 1/2, which is tough for school personnel. We're going in April so it might be a hard sell for me next NYE, but DH knows it's on my bucket list! When the school vacation aligns in such a way in the next couple of years, I'd like to do a trip that maybe is post-Christmas to NYE without missing more than a day or two of school. Hopefully, we shall meet in the Poly lounge to enjoy champagne and fireworks!
It's a date!
I would love to go away right after Christmas but my husband refuses to travel for Christmas week. He's such a scrooge. I think I could probably sell a NYE trip as he would get to be home for Christmas and we never go out for NY. Yes, we always fly. We're in NYC and people drive all the time but I would rather poke my eyeballs out then drive with the kids.

Thank you! Looks like all the rooms are good ones in that building. :)

Yes, they are all fine. There is one room that looks directly into a tree, however. It is the first room off the atrium on the LHS facing the courtyard. I forget the number. Sorry.
The good news is that, although the view is limited, the balcony is very private. We wanted to move when assigned, but couldn't be moved until the next day. By then we were settled in and decided that it wasn't worth packing/unpacking again.

If you want a quiet room and a better view, I would request a room away from the atrium. None of the rooms are very far, the atrium can be noisy and the tree is Very close.

Hi All! I guess I'm staying Sugar Loaf at GF our next trip due to the Tiki Gods not smiling down on the Poly for good discounts this go round. The last time we stayed GF CL it was gifted to us for one night because of some issues we'd had at the Poly. What is my best resource for info on GF and CL? Does GF have someone like the Poly has Tikiman? TIA And can I still say Aloha as I walk around the GF grounds or would that be weird?

As GADisneyDad posted, this thread is a great source of info, as is the GF FAQ. There are some very knowledgeable posters on that thread that don't frequent here, but could offer some great advice/suggestions :).

well I bit the bullet and booked a few nights of atrium CL at the contemporary for a mother/son trip. I've wanted to try it and a short stay seems like a good opportunity! I'll probably be spoiled forever... do these rooms ever come up for the AP discount when it is released? I imagine I would have to be pretty vigilant in my checking to snag one.

Congrats on biting the bullet and trying CR CL! Good luck with an AP discount :wizard:.

Good luck with the AP discount. Unfortunately both the general and AP discounts have been a bit lackluster lately, it seems??? :upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow

I agree, and CR CL usually seems to be one that gets the lower discount compared to other CLs :(.

Took advantage of the new offer today and bumped us up to CL at AKL for April 16th - 21st! We batted around BW and I know there are a lot of BW fans. I'm sure I will be second guessing for a while - I am a restless resort booker, so to speak! Excited for AKL but keeping my eye out for AP discounts, although I know they are often slim pickings!

Congrats on the discount for CL. Hope you have a great time :goodvibes.

I'm tossing around NYE at poly cl too just from reading this thread. I know my husband will nix it but it seems like fun. I'm going to start stalking airfare. If I get a reasonable price it may work.

I think NYE at the Poly would be a lot of fun ;).

Ok, I just saved my cart lol. Now how to convince hubby.

Book it now and work on hubby throughout the year ::yes::.

Yes, we always fly. We're in NYC and people drive all the time but I would rather poke my eyeballs out then drive with the kids.

Me too! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes, we'd want quiet more than anything. We are quiet ppl, our children are older and we trained them up in the ways of quiet too. Think 1950's...that's us. We're old before our time. LOL!

I agree on requesting “away from the atrium.” I think the noise from the middle rooms is tolerable, but it was not quiet during certain times in our experience.

The trade off is that rooms further down either hallway are a bit more likely to have trees/plants right outside, but to me that’s OK.

Have fun!

Just going through my Poly CL trip photos from this weekend. I'm going to feel REALLY bad if this was anyone on this thread, since I know there were some folks there this weekend too.

This was sometime after midnight. Not sure if those partaking were coming back or had abandoned the fun? Part of me laughed while part of me thought it was pretty rude to just leave their mess like this.

And then part of me wanted to walk off with the Kettle One bottle, which had at least a few drinks left in it! :rotfl:

(In full disclosure, whoever did this could have still been on the beach celebrating and came to clean up later).

Anyway, nothing good seems to happen when the lounge stays open until midnight! :drinking1

Not it! :rotfl:

There seemed to be a lot of people in Poly CL last week who left messes similar to that but sans alcohol. Considering what a short trip it is to put things away, I will never understand those who just leave everything on the table. The CMs were fantastic about it, though - they had tables cleaned really quickly, and kept telling people who were cleaning up after themselves that they were going to hire them! Haha.

Yeah, I felt the same. It was the usual mix of people leaving messes and some busing their own. CMs were great though, if not a bit stressed. Sometimes I wish they’d add one more person per shift.

I did feel the lounge was pretty crowded / hectic when we were there, especially 12/31. It didn’t help that it was colder so a lot of people were hanging out in the lounge vs say, at the pool.

BTW, I’m not going to participate in that “DND” thread going on right now, but will post my experience here, just FWIW.

Aside from the different door tag (below), I would have had no idea there was any change in procedures at all.

We never used the DND sign before and didn’t use this sign. We didn’t nap in the afternoons but were probably 50/50 resort vs parks in terms of our daily schedule. Never had anyone knock, didn’t see anything unusual in the halls.

All-in-all, a total non-issue for us.

wow, those new room discounts are meager for the room categories that are even available. There is no pixie dust flying around.

We are staying at the AKL Club level in August. We used to contact the AKL IPO office about 10 days prior to the 180 day mark with some requests. However, I thought I heard that they now have one central IPO for all the resorts. Does anyone have that email address that they could send me.

Thanks!

I would love to go around Christmas or New Years too. We still have some young ones so Christmas is out for a few more years. Thanksgiving has been the closest we've gotten, but maybe New Years would work depending on school schedules!
I hope it all works out for you!!

Sorry GADisneyDad14, messed up my Quote "It was the usual mix of people leaving messes and some busing their own. CMs were great though, if not a bit stressed. Sometimes I wish they’d add one more person per shift.

I agree about it being a mix. Some folks cleaned up after themselves and others didn't. We always did, but there were times the CM took it from us and wouldn't let us clean up!
We did have a day where a family was having a rather large birthday party which was not a big deal but they left the biggest mess with food, dishes, cake and all. I was pretty shocked. I would have taken some if it had been the kettle one!!:drinking1
They really have some great CMs there!

Exactly the same for us. And I posted in that thread a few times with my updates (of nothing changing) without doing any good. Such is life.

I always request housekeeping come before 1pm (so that kids can nap) and I was impressed that the Poly housekeeping did that every day (over the 8 day trip). Our previous experience was about 50% success rate at other resorts.

How did you communicate that request? I’d like to do that too.

Had that ! Ends in 10. We kept it because it was private and still a nice pool view.

We have decided to do a club level split stay. :rolleyes2 We are beginning our trip May 18-23 at the Wilderness Lodge Resort and then ending our trip at our beloved Boardwalk Inn May 23-27. We are excited to try another club level resort and just could not give up staying at the BWI so...split stay here we come. I am very nervous. We bought 9 day park hopper tickets on the wilderness trip in hopes I can make fast passes for all of our days. Have any of you ever let guest services make your fast Passes? I’m so OCD, I’m not sure I can give up control, but I would love to give up the stress. Also I would love to hear about recent club level stays at the wilderness lodge.
:thanks:

I can’t really help with your question but just wanted to say I’ve always loved your screen name and Avatar! Makes me smile every time.

As to WL CL, I was there over a year ago at this point so my feedback is not recent at all, but here are some links to my posts at the time that may be helpful, if you haven’t seen them. Posts I’ve seen since then seem to indicate relatively consistent offerings, although things do change over time.

WL CL Food - November 2016

WL CL Lounge - November 2016

One nice thing WL CL does that others don’t do is calling guests a few days before check-in. These calls come from the actual WL CL CMs, not DSS. It’s a nice touch for sure.

Curious, did you book “Standard Room - Club Level Access”? The “access” part of that is a recent change and I’ve been wondering what exactly that meant. Historically that means “a room not on the CL floor” but not sure what is up with WL in that regard?

FYI, with a split stay your first resort 60 day mark opens up your FP window for both trips, assuming, like you say, you have proper park admission to cover the entire length of both stays. So you have a nice long window to book!

Hope that helps!
