January New Year, New You! Exercise Challenge

20 minutes yesterday (yoga) for 20/400.

I'm hoping to travel a few times this year:
We've got not-quite-finalized plans to visit relatives in Florida in February, and slip in a couple of days at Universal.
We usually drive out to upstate NY once or twice in the summer, but we may switch one of those to DC this year - haven't decided.
And the big one, DS has been asking to do Disney around Christmastime for ages, and we're looking into it!

20-minute walk

120/800

We have only one trip planned this year, but it's a big one -- Antarctica! Can't wait to see penguins.

WOW!!!!!! My daughter will be so envious. She wants to be an ornithologist, and her big dream is to be part of a research expedition to Antarctica to study penguins. I have a family member who has been on several research expeditions there already so she has grown up with livestreams from these trips over the years and been able to see the labs, the penguins, other wildlife, ask questions, etc that way but she would love to be there in person one day. Please share photos here when you go. What an adventure that will be!!!

+30 minutes for me today! bringing me to 95/660.
Congratulations to GrandAdmiralStrife and lovesmurfs for reaching "Bring It On" Blue and to Pollyanna Mom for reaching Overachieving Orange!

Today's question: What are you looking forward to this year (aside from Travel)?
I'm looking forward to the new Avengers movie and SUMMER. (I look forward to summer every year. I hate winter).

Killed it today with 20 cardio & 30 heavy weights! Even managed to hit some PR's on the lifts!!

Brings me to 147/1395
which I'm pretty sure brings me up to blue status?

ETA: This year I'm just excited for it to be a new year, crushing goals, living in a new city.
Also Infinity War!!
And 3 trips to Disney, including fall & spring Dapper Day!

Today's question: What are you looking forward to this year (aside from Travel)?

I am looking forward to getting my fence up for backyard. Once that is done I can start putting a garden together. With this new home, I get to start everything fresh. So I am hoping to put in some veggies, flowers, and citrus trees. I also want some sort of water feature, just not sure what yet. Oh and what is a backyard without a doggie LOL still looking into finding one I just adore.

Today went to Universal Studios and walked around for 2 hours :) My legs feeling it now. Since only slow walking I am counting just 90 minutes. So total is
90+30 = 120/930 :)

I didn't get much in yesterday. I just got 10 minutes of walking while at work. Today I get to work from home because of the cold weather. DH works from home normally so we are going to head to the Rec for lunch and get a workout in. Since working from also means no extra activity I am going to try and pace for 5 minutes here and there today. At work just to go to the bathroom I have to go down an escalator, walk to the front of the building, take elevator to the 18th floor and walk to the other side of the floor. Plus just to get from my car to my desk is a good 5 minute walk. When working from home it talks all of 5 to 10 steps to get to the bathroom. So I need to work on some steps throughout the day.

For the question today. Other then the cruise I haven't really thought about what I am looking forward too. Right now I am just looking forward to it being warmer. It is -20 wind chill this morning. By Thursday we will be at 42 and I can't wait. This is just too cold.

Good morning. FitBit says 90 minutes of exercise, but it was really only 75 minutes. Guess my heart rate didn't decrease in between walking from the train station and the gym.

459/2100

Looking forward to DH and my trip to San Diego in July. Not so much for the travel, but because I might actually not be THAT embarrassed to be seen in a bathing suit on the beach!

30 minutes walking, stair climbing intervals yesterday

145/1860

Other than travel, I'm looking forward to the return of This Is Us next week, seeing daffodils in bloom, May 25 (release date for Solo: A Star Wars Story), longer hours of daylight, and tomato and watermelon season (the last three being the only reasons to not hire Elsa to freeze out summer, IMO).

Adding 20 minutes today, bringing me to 115/660.
Congrats to katt789 and jaelless for reaching "Bring It On" Blue.

Today's question: What worries did you bring into 2018, and what can you do to tackle them?
This can be personal, so if you don't want to share, you certainly don't have to. I personally worry about my fulfillment at work and am trying to combat that by seeking new employment. Very daunting, but I'm hopeful!

145 minutes at the barn this afternoon

290/1860

Today's answer: I constantly worry whether or not I'm doing enough/the right thing as a parent. As far as tackling that fear, I'll just keep trying to be the mom she needs. Right now that's a dance between loosening the reins but still keeping tabs on what's happening in her world and letting her know I'm still here when she needs me.

I get to add another 45 minutes so total is up to 165/930

As for worries I brought new house. It is not a negative worry, is all good stuff, just kind of overwhelming at times knowing it is all on me. Big mortgage, if something breaks I have to fix, decorating it, getting backyard fence up, creating garden, lots of fun stuff, but challenging stuff. I cannot wait for the weather to warm back up so I can get more done.
