Circle of Life Closing

So it's been reported by WDW News Today that Circle of Life is closing at EPCOT and you have to wonder about the point they made. With the Disney Performing Arts workshops previously being held in a trailer between Germany and Italy and now it's moving to that theater space, could we be seeing the beginning of another country, specifically Brazil finally?

wasn't there also a rumor of another ride coming to an existing country in WS/ Given the location maybe it is to clear space to do the Rhine River Cruise in Germany

Shame that Epcot is losing another "attraction", but my guess would be same as yours, that it is closing to make room for something else.

I am sure it is an underutilized attraction anyway, I know we didn't go see it despite spending almost 3 hours in the Land paviliion between Soaring, lunch at Garden Grille and Living with the Land boat ride.

Frankly, I am not even sure anyone noticed it ..(I knew it was there as I remember the theatre from its original show). I never saw Circle of Life, but I doubt I missed much. I was turned off to all the "edutainment" movies that filled Epcot (especially in the World Showcase). They put a bad taste in my mouth about Epcot and frankly I am glad it is getting such a major redo.

We saw it in Dec 2016. It was aging but serviceable in the space. I won't mourn the loss unless it becomes another EPCOT dead space.

I think that is one concern I have with everything like this, especially in EPCOT - that they close things and just leave it empty and don't replace it ... but hopefully with all the plans for EPCOT this is just part of that and not a stand alone decision to close something and replace it with nothing

I enjoyed the film. We didn't see it every time. Actually, I don't think we saw it the last three trips. It was more sentimental for me though, it reminded me of my aunt and uncle who both passed years ago. We shared several trips to Disney World with them.

I think it's time for an update there. Like others, I just hope they use it for something long term rather than just leaving it empty.

I thought there was already an empty show building behind Germany that’s enterance was the mural near Biergarten?

I thought they had built the doorways but never built the actual show building but I could be wrong

As big of a lion king fan as I am I never saw this. Time and I heard it was actually pretty sad. Although the replacement is intriguing for the future...

I agree, one other trend I seem to notice (mostly in MK), is that there are either increasing dead spaces, or spaces filled with character meet and greets. As an adult who does not visit with children, I do NOT want anymore spaces filled with meet and greets as opposed to attractions.

I sympathize because my kids have no interest in meet and greets. Even last year at 5,5, and 7, they knew the person in the costume wasn't important to them. But given the lines for most meet and greets and the money made from autograph books and the fact that it is cheap entertainment for Disney to put on, I think you and my family are going to be on the short end of this.

Not surprised to see this film go. I saw it for the first time last September and it looked dated. Just a case of what they are going to use the space for. Personally I’d update it with Disney nature movie of some sort

Keep in mind two things:

1) Every person waiting in line for a meet and greet is someone who ISN'T in line for an attraction which does interest you.
2) If Disney had other plans for a certain space, they'd close or relocate the meet and greet in a heartbeat. The existence of a MnG doesn't mean you're missing out on some great new attraction.

Not a big fan of this attraction but hate to see more close Before new stuff opens. Would like to see some it announced stuff opened before closing more.

I think we saw it a couple of times in the 90s, but I couldn't convince anyone to give it another shot anytime in the past 15-20 years. Just about anything they could put in there would be an improvement.

After closing things I will miss ie Stitch and TGMR they are closing something that we have done only once (our 1st trip). I am hopeful that something will go in this space.

I am sorry to see it go. Whilst I didn't like it as much as the original symbiosis when it first came in, I think it should have been compulsory viewing in every classroom, making valuable points. I loved the live animal Circle of Life start

We would see it at least once every trip. theatre usually almost empty sadly

Has stitch closing been confirmed? It just seems they’re stalling for the inevitable
