So, i could book a tier one at Ak, use it, then book a tier one at another park, or just tier 2’s? Sorry, I thought I understood this system but am confused for PH.
Here is my response a few posts up on this page:

You are able to hold a Tier 1 in each park. As soon as the FP system knows you’ve used a FP, you can book a FP for any Tier in Park#2.

But to get another tier one we have to use the tier one, right? And, we can look to see what else is available without cancelling what we have, then do we cancel and book or can we modify if its at another park?

As I understand you just have to use a fast pass at the first park - it doesn't matter if it's a Tier 1 or Tier 2 if the park is tiered. Once that first FP is used your account is open to book any FP at another park that has availability and that can be a Tier 1 even if you still have a remaining FP at the first park and it also is a Tier 1.

Wow this is a huge change, I like it! We booked everything thinking we had to use all 3 before we could hop and book a 4th at another park. This will make things so much easier. I'd still want to know how MDE will look when we are checking for another FP, if we still have the 3 booked? So, we use a FP at AK....but we still have two there. Then we want to leave and go to MK, so we check to see what's available, then can we just use the modify button or do we have to cancel one of the FP's and book the new one?

You must cancel them before you can book 2 FPs for Park#2.

Then you use the “+” to add FPs for MK.

Always remember a total of 3 initial FPs - this is true whether you cancel some and rebook. It’s always a total of 3 that are “initial” FPs.

After that, you move to one at a time booking and usage. Never attempt to Modify a Park#1 FP to book a FP for Park#2 - that will not work.

Okay, great, I do think I get it now. I do have to say this will definitely be an advantage, IF a tier one is available. I imagine they may be hard to get. But...I like it...a lot!

My husband and I have park hoppers. We will be there on January 31. Wed like to start at Epcot (a 2 crowd level) and go to Mk (a 3 level with evening extra magic hours).

I keep going back and forth with my fp+ strategy. Use a tier 2 at spaceship earth, head for Soaring at rope drop with a tier 1 at 10. Or assume short lines at Epcot which had evening magic hours the night before) and book fp for early afternoon at mk. I do have one for Peter Pan but not Sdmt.

SDMT always hard to get, the wait time seems to always be super long without the FP. We are going to rope drop MK many of the mornings to hit most of the rides without FP. I've never done it that way but my daughter insists that they get on everything with no waits doing it like that.

We used this guide two weeks ago and it worked flawlessly. We got the following done at MK by 11:00am with an 8am open:
Big Thunder Mountain (rope drop)
Splash Mountain (rope drop)
Jungle Cruise (rope drop)
SDMT (FP+; all others below are all FP+)
Space Mountain
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan
Pirates
Winnie the Pooh
Little Mermaid
Buzz Lightyear

This is so awesome, I guess my daughter knows what she's talking about...LOL! Good Times!

Question about split stays and FP+ window. If you do a split stay, say for example I do a 6 night trip and spend 4 nights at a Value and then move to a Deluxe for the last 2 nights would I only be able to book for the first 5 days, then the last 2 days separately or would the stays be considered a single trip and I be able to book for the entire 7 Days (including departure day)?

You'll be able to book your entire trip when you reach 60 days out.

Should be single trip but this post has a better explanation.

What is the difference between MDE and MDX...that I'm seeing?
MDX is the official initialism (by Disney) for My Disney Experience. It’s always been used in the FP FAQ and also in the Ticket Sticky. So for continuity across TPAS, it’s now the “initialism of choice.” :)

Alrighty then, I'll get on board. Thanks.
