Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Stayed at POFQ over Christmas & NYE. Building 4, 3rd floor facing parking (but it was really a courtyard). Great location. Close to foodcourt & quiet. We opted out of housekeeping for $10 a night which was worth it. Getting new towels etc was very easy. I do miss the old foodcourt with the giant mardi gras heads though. Its kind of boring now. Food choices were good however we walked over to Riverside as they have a better foodcourt IMO. Some great CM's too. Such a pretty resort & even though it was the holidays it never felt overly crowded. Enjoying talking with the greeter one day. There was music nightly at Scat Cats. Beds were ok but noisy. Just loved it.

Does anyone know if FQ will ever have the murphy beds installed, so that families of 5 could stay there? Wishful thinking that they would do that with this upcoming refurb. We have stayed at Riverside, but the alligator bayou rooms/decor aren't my favorite. Have always wanted to stay at FQ.

I stayed at FQ from NYE - Jan 4th and had a great experience. I was worried about the beds, after mixed reviews of their matresses. I was pleasantly surprised the bed was soft. I prefer soft rather than firm. Stayed in Building 1, standard view andhad no problem with the neighbors. I wish there was better weather, as we only had 1 good pool day, but no controlling that. All in all, i would definitely stay in FQ again...holding out hope for a building 3 room.

We stayed over Thanksgiving week. Building 3, I had requested top floor, we were on the ground level. I was worried about noise above us and we had no problems. Very quiet, nice location, close to lobby and transportation. It was very peaceful even during a busy time. We loved the boat to DS, this was such a nice relaxing ride. Our room was a bit dated and worn but very comfortable and a wonderful shower. The water pressure and hot water was perfect. We thought the beds were comfortable and we slept well.

We enjoyed it so much we are going back in April and staying at FQ again. Our last trip on AP before they expire. Very excited to go back.
I think I will request building 3 or 4, these are perfect locations.

I wish! We stayed there last March and loved it. But now our youngest will be over 3, so we are bummed we can't stay there anymore!

Does anyone know the latest time that the boat runs from Disney Springs back to POFQ? We have a reservation for 9:15pm one night at Raglan Road and I want to know if taking the boat back a little later in the night is an option.

Does anyone know if the firmness of the beds is the same in certain buildings or if it's random? Had a split stay (two different room types) and building 4 had the softest comfiest bed and building 2 is hard as a rock. Guess which one I stayed in for 2 nights and which one was 10 nights??

It is either 11:00 or 11:30 . They will make an announcement on the boat and there is a sign at the dock in DS. If you are running late there is bus you can get to go back. Buses are in the Town Center area. The Boat Captain will also say how late the buses run.

Thanks. That should be late enough, but if it isn't at least I know we'll have a bus to get us back.

Well..... I did it..... I booked a room at FQ instead of our usual POR. I am SUPER excited to give it a try! It's also our first time with a river view. I am really hoping to secure a BB offer when I am there in Feb but not too optimistic given the lack of available discounts for this resort (which has kept me from booking it in the past). So tell me, what are your favorite things about this resort?

I will be staying at POFQ for a few days (Jan. 24th - 26th). We have stayed here before and absolutely love this resort. The benefits include the intamacy of the of the resort, the beautiful grounds, the wonderful food court, and the ability to walk anywhere withing the resort in under 10 minutes. The pool is so much fun for kids and the boat to Disney Springs is such a nice ride and so convenient. We usually stay at Carribean Beach resort becasue it is my daughters favorite, but both stays at POFQ have been amazing. You will absolutely love everything about this resort. Be excited!

The size. That is it really. It's size is the stand out thing about FQ

Breakfast in the Foodcourt.
The proximity of all rooms to everything - nothing is more than 4 minutes walk away - buses, foodcourt, pool, boat dock, concierge.
You can walk to POR for a change of scene.
Boat service and Bus service to Disney Springs.

Enjoy!

It's a bit random at the moment, as some have been more recently replaced than others (and some virtually-new ones were sent over from POR when they had a 100% replacement process last year). They will all be replaced as part of the POFQ room refurbishment program which started this weekend.

This was my first time at WDW and i told my mom that i think we were immediately spoiled. I LOVED that there was only 1 busstop. We knew all these people here at this stop were all who needed to get on the bus and that stop was 7 min at most from our standard view in Building 1. That works for me.

I've actually yet to stay, but this is our first trip with a stroller. While I LOVE POR I didn't feel like paying for a preferred room in POR, and decided the POFQ would be better with a stroller.
