I had plans to visit the MK on 4/24 and I have an 8am adr at BoG. Now I see that this day is an EMM day which I do not plan on participating in. Is this something that will impact our day enough that I should look at switching things around?

It will impact your day ONLY if you were planning to ride 7DMT before 9am. My understanding is that on non-EMM days, they sometimes start running 7DMT early BOG diners. But on EMM days, they will hold you in line until 9am

Hi, thanks for this thread OP and thanks all for the further insights and comments.

My friend and I will be visiting WDW for the first time this month. Given it was a spur of the moment trip and we're from New Zealand, we chose email confirmation for our tickets. We're staying offsite but as we have the blue barcode, I expected to rock up to the park entrance touch-points with the email confirmation + ID and get our RFID tickets there ....... then I discovered EMM :yay:

It turns out we'll be doing EMM on our first day at the Parks - 21 January. Does anyone know whether we'll be able to get our RFID tickets at the EMM check in? If not, does anyone know if the Guest Services outside MK will be open from 7am? We're looking to walk from the Contemporary rather than go through the TTC. Depending on the answers to my questions though, the TTC is still an option.

Hi there, thanks for the nice note. Sorry for being slow to respond, was traveling.

You won’t be able to get your park tickets from the EMM check-in.

I am relatively certain that the Guest Relations window outside the MK front entrance ‘should’ be open at that hour, although I’m not 100% confident in that statement.

Personally, I prefer dealing with Guest Relations there vs the ticket windows at the TTC.

Hope that helps! Have fun!

Thanks for the response OP. It was indeed helpful.

I have a short 3 day trip planned in July. We are arriving Monday and hoping to do EMM on Tuesday. I hope they have it that day because I'm really trying to maximize our short time at the parks.

I just booked this for my oldest son & myself for our Mom/Son trip!
This thread is full of great info, thanks for putting it together, Dawg!

We will be there March 4.

We are going the same day. We did this on October 1st and it’s worth every penny. Our son is only 2, so he can’t even ride 7DMT, but it allowed us to ride it with very little wait. The day we went they also opened small world early and we were the only ones there, which was sooo cool. We got some great photopass photos and also some great personal shots of my son running around in an empty Fantasyland. The breakfast is very good too.

That’s awesome to hear! My son is 17 & graduating this year. (I won’t cry. I won’t cry. lol. I might cry. lol)

I’m so sold on this, I may try talking my husband into it for our family trip in Feb.

See you guys March 4!

I'll be there on March 4 too with my 18 year old daughter who will be on her first spring break from college!

We are planning to do EMM on Sunday April 5th. Do you think we could do Indy speedway, astrorbiter, and space mountain and get back to breakfast by 9:45?

I assume you mean 4/15, right?

I volunteer you to try that Tomorrowland challenge and report back! Probably doable, but might be close! I'd do SM first. :-):-):-)

Thanks & yes, I mean April 15th!

We actually have never done space mountain or astroorbiter before. When we did EMM in August, my plans were a little messed up because Peter Pan was down the whole time but we did it’s a small world during EMM instead. Then at 9AM we did haunted mansion and went back to try Peter Pan but it was still down. We didn’t seem to have time to walk somewhere and do much, so we just did carousel & then at breakfast.

Would it be better to try for:
- space, astroorbiter, possibly speedway, or
- little mermaid, barnstormer, dumbo, or
- it’s a small world, haunted mansion

(Doing haunted mansion right when the park opened wasn’t such a good time in August because we went there as soon as they let us out of fantasyland but then we had to wait in that holding room until is was full...)

I would do Space and AO and then see what time it is. When we did it in August we arrived at 10 and there was still food. I wouldn’t come later than 10 though. Mermaid, barnstormer and Dumbo would be fairly easy after you eat as crowds build slower back there. Small world and HM take awhile to ride.

We've done EMM at MK twice and we did do it at DHS once... we LOVE it ... we are traveling back and were hoping to do it on Feb. 4 - we went to book it on Friday night only to see it was no longer available - it was available in the morning - so mad as I assume this means that it has sold out. Super bummed. I'll keep checking for cancellations - it is our fault for waiting so long - just were waiting until after the holidays to get our funds back in good shape - lol - If anyone knows of anyone planning to cancel on Feb. 4 let me know!

Waiting on July dates to be announced. We'll be there July 20-28, so I'm hopeful for something this year. We've always wanted to have a chance to try EMM but in all of our trips, Disney has never offered it while we're there. Given this, I realize there's a good chance Disney will do something like take the month of July (or at least the week we're there, like last year) off...but I'm still hopeful for now!

Ahhhh...I love it!! That’s going to be an amazing trip!!

Thank you! I'm so excited about this trip. I've planned a lot of surprises for my daughter with EMM being one of them! We both love 7DMT so she's going to have a blast! Today we are driving her back to college and she'll be starting her 2nd semester classes tomorrow. Enjoy your son's senior year. It goes by way too fast.........:( I miss my girl already.

I agree with the above poster. Try SM and AO and then see on timing. Speedway shouldn't be too busy by that time.

Funny that you said not to do HM, because that's exactly what we did at 9am and it worked perfectly. We were the first people on that morning. When we went, 7DMT was down until 8:40a. Because we did Rider Switch, we each only had time to do it once because we had to wait 3 trains each. But they did open Small World early so we were able to get that out of the way before 9am.

For anyone going, just be prepared that 1 of the 3 rides may not be running or will start late. They usually open another ride early when that happens, but it helps if you are mentally prepared if that happens. There were alot of unhappy people our morning, since many purchase EMM solely for 7DMT.
