Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

Do they still do the princess cake packages at CRT? I can't find any reference to them now? It's my daughter's 18th when we are there and I've booked for the evening? Is my only option the slipper desert? Many thanks.

The only thing they offer at CRT now is that standard slipper dessert. They may still do the glass slipper, tiara and other non-food items. You can contact them at WDW.CRT.Special.Events@disney.com.

So I tried to read as much as the thread I could so I didn't ask a question that had been asked a 100 times but I don't think I saw the answers.

1) Can you have a mini cake sent to Ohana
2) Can you have a mini cake sent to your room at Poly or GF?

Does anyone have a list of the non cake options that can be ordered at either GF or Poly?

No need to read the whole thread! All this info is in the first two posts! :thumbsup2

As it says in Post #2, you can have mini cakes delivered to restaurants and rooms at the Polynesian Village Resort. You would contact Private Dining at the Grand Floridian viz the number in Post #2.

As mentioned in Post #1, each resort offers different non-cake specialty desserts, but the selection varies and there is no master list. The closest you'll come is each resort's private dining menu, but those can be scarce online. I've attached the Grand Floridian's Specialty Cruise Menu, which is basically the same thing as their private dining menu and lists a few non-cake desserts...

Just ordered a 'castle' mini cake for arrival day. $30 and includes a glowing castle.
Excited, just what we need to get in the mood when we arrive :welcome:

Sad News - Cake was not delivered during our reservation, after a few phone calls and 2 days later they 'found' the cake.
They asked if I wanted it delivered (was checking out and headed back to west coast)
I told them, no, there was nothing I could do with it at this point.
Requested a refund, will see when it comes

Oh no! How disappointing! Thanks for reporting your experience. Where did you order it, the Grand Floridian?

Thank you very much for your reply. It's so disappointing they no longer do custom cakes in MK :(. The slipper desert is just not the same. We had the Mickey head for my hubby's birthday last summer so don't want that for her 18th (Big birthday in the UK!).

We are staying at Beach Club so might get one delivered there at breakfast! Not quite the same, but at least we can put it in the fridge after! Does anyone have any photos of Tangled cakes?

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that! :worried:

Ordered by calling (407) 827-2253, selected the Polynesian, then Ohana ... woman who helped on the phone was wonderful, very helpful and great customer service. Seems the snag was at the restaurant, I spoke with the manager at Ohana, she was very apologetic, but still was upsetting.

Just returned from celebrating my NYE birthday at the Grand Floridian. I had opted out of doing a custom cake, and it was a good thing, because my husband surprised me with an in-room delivery of the Mickey Celebration Cake with chocolate-covered strawberries and balloons. He ordered them from the Club concierge one day prior, and asked for delivery by 1:30 PM, when we expected to return to our room after lunch. When we returned to the room, the delivery had been made, and we had a great time celebrating. Presentation was great. The cake was presented on a small room-service table with dessert plates, forks and cloth napkins along with the strawberries and balloons. The cake was absolutely delicious, and being a baker, I'm very picky. At the price offered, and given the perfect size and taste and ease of ordering, I honestly don't know why anyone would want to spend more or go through the hassle of ordering a custom cake. And did I say I'm a baker and I love custom cakes?? My family of 4 ate half of this cake on my birthday, stuck it in the fridge and finished it off the next day. Here are some before/after photos.

Has anyone ordered a cake from Via Napoli? The prices posted on the 1st page seem really reasonable but I was just wondering how they taste and look. My DD9 insists this is where she wants to eat on her birthday. I guess my other option would be to order a custom cake at BW bakery and bring it to VN. They'll let me come back into EP with a cake, right?

You just made up my mind! I’m going with this for our graduates in June!

This cake looks awesome! It says on the disney website though: "Due to their size and design, Mickey Mouse celebration cakes are not available with custom flavors or writing" so I was planning on custom but would rather go this way! I just want a simple "welcome to disney" cake for my kids. We are staying at AKL not the GF though. I guess I will just call and ask =)

They can write on the ears, so I think a "welcome to disney" would be easy to do. You'll note mine had Happy Birthday on one ear and my name on the other ear - and the writing was very well done. Go for it - it's a delicious cake at a great price. My kids thought it was super cute and fun, which it is. Not a boring old run of the mill layer cake.

Pat at the GF just made this cake for me this weak.

Figment Cake.

Inside is Vanilla cake with Strawberry choc mousse and butter cream.

Had it delivered to Kona Café. I originally called Kona but they redirected me to Pat and they had the cake delivered to Kona.

Can I ask how much this was - Love it!

So now that I read this I realize I ordered just a regular “celebration” cake for my son and daughters 5th and 1sr birthdays in Feb. they don’t look very kid friendly... would you cancel? I really want like a Disney sheet cake delivered to the room (BWV)... I called thru floral to arrange balloons etc and asked for other cakes and they just said they had one type. Obviously i now understand i wasn’t speaking to the cake people- but annoyed they didn’t mention that. Thanks for any advice!

I would cancel and call BW (# in first post) and get the kind of cake you want. You’ll be able to customize the cake so much more.

Going to EPCOT in two weeks to celebrate hubby's 50th birthday and I really wanted to get a custom Mr. Incredible cake but we are dining at La Hacienda de San Angel. I see by this forum that it is serviced by an outside vendor. Does that mean they won't do custom cakes? If not, could I purchase and pick up at Boardwalk bakery and bring it into the park myself to be served at the restaurant?

One DISer was able to get San Angel to have their vendor slightly customize a cake with a screen print and some colored piping, so you could try that. But you could also do your idea of picking up a fully custom cake made by BoardWalk Bakery.

Anyone know if I can have a cake delivered to a CL lounge? Long story....we are checking out of AKL CL on my DD birthday but will be spending the day at the resort. It would be nice to do the cake in the lounge on her actual birthday but I wasn't sure if this could be done.
