RUMOR: Future runDisney race weekends...California and worldwide.

Great I’m going to all the Asian Parks in May this year... I’ll be ready to run the Moosho Challenge, the Emperors palace to castle challenge. I’m ready. Now.

I see possibly the DL Half returning in 2019 with others returning in 2020. No proof, simply a guess. Wouldn't surprise me if dates are changed up a little. But I'm interested to see what other international races will look like.

1. I'm glad that they plan to bring back the Disneyland races. Nor am I surprised that they want to expand runDisney across the globe.

2. Plans are subject to change. I hope the plans to bring back the Disneyland races come to fruition, but time will tell if that's actually the case.

3. If plans change, people should not accuse the man who announced this of lying. He said it for a reason. And I believe that reason was to reassure runners that the west coast races and affiliated elements, namely the Coast to Coast and/or Castle To Chateau events were not going away permanently, at least as of this date. I've read and heard so many different rumors that certain races are going to be cancelled because nobody registers for them. I've heard rumors that certain races are going to receive new themes because not enough people like them. Add real race cancellations to that mix and perspective can get lost in a hurry.

Simply put, construction currently happening at Disneyland and officially announced future construction projects were going to impact their ability to stage races. It's plausible the races will return. It's also possible they won't.

I'd love to have the opportunity to do rD races at all the other worldwide properties. I've already been to them all a few times, so any excuse to go back would be great!

What’s your favorite park?

Talk about a loaded question!

Gun to my head, if I had to pick one property to visit forever and ever, it would be WDW for the variety and diversity of offerings.

Prettiest park: DL Paris
Most impressive rides: Shanghai (their Pirates is a marvel and Tron is pretty damn good too)
Best Disney spirit: Tokyo parkgoers
Best cast members: Hong Kong
Most Walt nostalgia: Disneyland

I’ve been to them all too, and my favorites would be Tokyo Disneyland for the rides, the Christmas parade, and amazing decorations and holiday overlays. I was there on Christmas Day in 2017, and it blew me away.

I grew up going to WDW, but Disneyland has my heart in terms of the amount of fun you can pack into one day, based on logistics and setting. Run Disney vacations are a blast, since everything is in walking distance and the parks feel “complete” compared to how attractions are divided between four parks in Florida.

The construction is going to be a nightmare. Previous DL races used the convention center at the DL hotel and much of the parking lot and street space on the west side of the resort, and all of the area will be construction zone for pretty much the whole time. Unless they decide to use a drastically different setup somewhere on the east side of the resort or rent out the Anaheim Convention Center, there's very little possibility of any races at all happening until it's complete.

But it is nice to know that they're committed enough to publicly make a promise.

If they did any races at Shanghai/HK/Tokyo I'd be in in a heartbeat - I live too far from the US/Paris to really do a weekend trip for a race but am close enough to Shanghai/HK/Tokyo to potentially do those!

That's great news. We cancelled our California trip this year after we found out the runs were postponed.

I'm happy to hear anything that indicates Disneyland races will be back! I'm guessing 2020 at the earliest. But thats simply my gut feeling.
