Been a long time since I've posted here (#lurker) - I'd love to make it for Stitch's Great Escape's last day. Reviews aside, it's still something I would enjoy saying goodbye to. Are we relatively sure that the last day is this Saturday, 1/6?

Cheers, everyone! Happy New Year!

It had been closed for a while (September or so), but now MDE is showing wait times so I guess the rumor it would reopen for the holidays was true. I made some last second FPs for tomorrow (Buzz and Peter Pan, they don't appear to offer FPs for SGE) and plan to see it before it closes. I had intended to see it, but had put it off and then they closed it without warning for a Character Meet.

It's amazing the difference between this and closing of Ellen's Energy Adventure. Both underwhelming and unpopular rides, but Ellen's gets a huge sendoff with merchandise and knowing a lot of details about what will be replacing it. Stitch gets a slow death of "seasonal" operation with absolutely no confirmed plans of what will replace it. Makes me wonder if it will be replaced by an attraction or if they will use the space for a Table Service restaurant or such since that side of the park is lacking in decent eatery (and it would be cheaper and bring in more revenue than another attraction).

Good riddance. Let it be with the bad memories along with Alien Encounter and the Michael Jackson thing that was in Epcot w a y t o o long and remember Sounds dangerous in the old "MGM". The higher ups sure do let the dust gather on some things don't they (insert eye roll)

Once again I miss a closure/opening by a couple days. Not that this one mattered though except for that amazing stitch animatronic

I went on my Disney Parks app this morning and it no longer has stitch listed as an attraction. In the past during seasonal operations it would just say “temporarily closed” but now there is no where to tap and it is not listed in the side menu of all attractions.

Thank God that's gone, how to get rid of Laugh Floor even if it moved to Hollywood Studios and stick it in the Mermaid building

I know I am the minority here, but I absolutely love Monsters Inc laugh floor. I may even go as far as saying that it is one of my favorite attractions in Disney world. It is an experience that my entire family enjoys and we do at least 3 times per magic Kingdom visit. Not only is it a new experience each time, but it’s a nice short wait most of the time. Idk that’s just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We do it every time as well. Only once, but every time. It's good lighthearted entertainment out of the weather that doesn't have a line. Is it a Tommorowland attraction? Bleh. Probably not. It probably does belong in DHS. But I wouldn't want it closed without plans for something else to open. That's kind of how I feel about anything anymore. Even with the annual attendance flatlining or dropping a bit, the parks are just so underdeveloped that closing anything without a replacement is simply a bad idea. And while I applaud all the things on the table for the 50th, that's not even coming close to catching up on an attendance per attraction ratio that is acceptable given the cost of going.

Close or move Laugh Floor? Ok, I can live with that. But only if you have something ready to go in that spot. I really hope something is planned for Stitch. I hated Stitch. Heck I didn't like Alien. I did like Mission to Mars. But to have a dead zone? MK just can't afford it.

I think I've done Laugh Floor once, shortly after it opened. It wasn't bad, just not something I need to do again. I haven't traveled with kids in over 10 years.
We did Stitch at least once a trip. It wasn't a favorite, but the lines were usually short and we like Stitch so we'd always end up there at some point.

I agree - it is one of my faves!

While Stitch is one of my fav characters, I have detested that ride bearing his name. I mean, come on. Stitch has been rolling over in his spaceship in utter pain over this ever since it debuted.

But Alien Encounter was a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s one of the few rides that could REALLY scare you by using your own imagination against you. And it was more of an adult ride. Bring it back Disney.

SGE is now open as Stitch’s Alien Encounter meet and greet. I have a picture of the sign I can post later.
