Disney Kids Clubs closing!!!

I am so completely bummed out about this! We are going in August and were so looking forward to utilizing the Sandcastle Club. DS was super excited because he is not a super ride lover and when he saw a few videos online of what the clubs look like he couldn't wait to try them out. He even asked if he could go twice.

I really hope they have something else when we go.

Wow, crazy. DD loved going to the club at the Poly a few trips back, and it was quite busy the night we went. We have an anniversary night planned in March again and are having her spend the evening there again. We will definitely miss the option...

Kids club was great (my kids loved it). Honestly I don't think nearly enough people knew about it. We didn't learn about it until like our 4th trip with our kid, and she loves going to it now.

Horrible short decided decision. It smells like a bean counter figured out they could yield more revenue per foot in the clubhouse space.

This is my thought. Wondering if Disney has considered the indirect impact on their adults-only activities. There are signature dining or other adult experiences at Disney that we bring DD to, and others that we either don't want to because "parents night out" or a few where Disney does not allow children - V&A's, Monorail Highway in the Sky Dine-around (our plans for March), Jellyrolls, etc.

We used the clubs twice, and our kids loved it (so did we!).

At $50 per kid, it wasn't cheap, but we trust Disney so it was a better option than kids night out, for us, even if it was more expensive.

Its taking away another perk for us.

I’m so sad about this.
We used Lilo’s and Simba’s several times and DS loved it.
Planning to use Sandcastle in April and then after that... I guess the only option is in room sitter?
That’s not much fun for a 5 year old...

I'm really sad about this. Hubby and I are staying at the Poly in October. I was planning on using Lilo's Playhouse one night so we can explore the Epcot Food and Wine Festival one evening without the kids. I'm not comfortable with hiring sitters to watch my kids in our room that aren't part of Disney. I hope Disney will at least offer room sitters to replace the kids clubs. I would just feel safer if they were Disney employees.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't use in room babysitting either way. At least with the Clubhouse the kids would have fun, more fun that coming to Epcot with us as we explore all the countries at the F&W festival. Leaving them in our room seems pretty boring. I rather take them with us to Epcot, rent a double stroller, and let them nod off if they get bored as we explore all the countries. At least it's more fun than staying in our room watching a movie. On our last trip in Oct 2016, they didn't enjoy walking around Epcot at night, plus it was super crowded and there were a lot of intoxicated people. So I thought the Clubhouse would be perfect, they would have more fun there at night and my hubby and I could enjoy Epcot.
Camp Dolphin is an option but more of a hassle to get to. We're staying at the Poly so Lilo's would have been really convenient. Really sad Disney made this decision.

This makes me sad. My kids love going there - we’ve used the club at the Poly, AKL, GF, and BC. We plan to use the one at BC it in June so my husband and I could have dinner at Flying Fish (my youngest would have zero interest in a fancy meal and would by far enjoy herself more at the kids’ club). The price is a bargain, I think.

Can I still book in late May Memorial Day weekend? I saw it said they will honor existing but is that for those already made after June 1?

We used it exactly like this last October, and it was great.

We had a great time at F&W, and the kids had a blast at the playhouse.

It's one of the reasons we stayed at the Poly.

We also do not want to leave our kids in our room with a sitter.

Really dislike this move. Oh well, I guess we wont be tempted to overspend at the Poly again.

Good info on the Swan/Dolphin option, we will check that out.

I've walked past Camp Dolphin a ton of times and the kids always seem to be either laughing, eating, or watching a Disney movie.

How far out should you make reservations? We plan on using the kids club at the Polynesian. Thanks!
