I should say, I know some of what RJ deleted from his 3+ hour cut to get it down to 2.5 included scenes with Finn, Rose, and DJ. Whether those make it onto the blu-ray or not, who knows? Probably, but we'll know soon.

I've never really understood the purpose of having a balance. If you have more good guys then bad, isn't that a good thing?
Is there an absolute "good," or can we only perceive "good" when we have "bad" to compare it to?

So, without bad guys, how do you know who the good guys are?

I think it is a "good thing" to most people, however the Force is neither good nor bad. It is true neutral and doesn't really care.

I think that's why the Jedi bring the Force into balance. Darkside users manipulate and corrupt the Force, they use it for their selfish purposes. Jedi and "good" Force users allow the Force to flow through them as it is meant to flow. They harness it's energy but don't corrupt it. They tap into it, but allow the Force to guide them vs. trying to bend the Force to their own will. That's my understanding anyway.

I think the fact that's there's so much effort to convince each other that things do or don't make sense...makes it a fail in the longterm. Just me.

However the flatlined box office at about $1.2...which is lower than my original low prognostication of 1.3-1.4...means a lot of other people are voting down with their wallet. Strange as that may be. Exact reasons will never be fully pinpointed.

For me it was Bambi .... probably explains a lot of my issues

Haha - Bambi may have been my first also. I remember the trauma of it anyways. I also remember I think being very little and having my grandmother take me to that Kurt Russel movie where he events an invisibility formula - IMDB says it was "Now you see him, Now you don't".

Back to the topic at hand. I always thought the one thing that was truly interesting about the prequels was that in the OT we always assumed that the Jedi were on battling the clones, but Lucas wrote it in a way so that the Jedi were on the side of the clones, and in fact the Jedi were fighting on the side of the emperor. This was extremely clever, but too bad he in no way could manage to make these movies the least bit interesting for that. Their really should have been some momentous point where the Jedi realize they are on the wrong side - but instead we get a bunch of Jedi suddenly easily slaughtered. (Even though at other times we see Jedi's take on literally 100s of foes.)

Perhaps, even though I'm a Star Wars fan, I am more of a fan of good movies. Maybe the Last Jedi is a bad Star Wars movie, but a good movie. personally I think it is both a good movie and a good Star Wars movie, but what do I know.

Completely agree. I cannot remember wanting to like a movie more than I went in wanting to like this movie. The whole movie I kept waiting for that one moment that would redeem the movie. It never happened. In fact, all 5 of use were sitting there quietly after the movie was over and the credits were rolling for a good 3- 5 minutes until my brother finally said "I don't think this is like a Marvel movie where there is extra scenes during the credits".

You and many, many others...

Some can say the same for empire...E.T.....etc, etc....

Mine was Star Trek: The Motion Picture...... not one of the even numbered ones sadly.

I loved the ewoks! :duck:

I've told the story before, but I grew up routinely destroying my Ewok village with the help of "Darth Daddy" who would dress up as Vader with me and we'd re-write ROTJ so that Leia (who I dressed up as) teamed up with Vader Daddy to rule the universe. We watched Empire so many times on VHS...lol.
