Pop Century Room Renovations

I'll see if the issue is still happening closer to my dates. As of right now my main request is the 70s section and that is the one that is being saved. If it's still acting weird in March I may call just to confirm. I did read on here that someone had called and even though only one request seems to be saving on our end the CM could see both requests at their end. Gotta love the ever glitchy MDE!!
I called and the cm just manually put the two requests on my reservation as a note. I asked for 70s and high floor and then requested two different rooms.

Ok, I'm sorry to be such a bother but tell me if this sounded right. I went ahead and placed my request with TP. This is what I did: I picked the room I liked and then configured the fax. On the fax it had a block of rooms. I put under the note portion the following: Refurbished room, 80's building, top floor, non-connecting. I then put the room number I liked. I know I'm not guaranteed this room number but I wanted them to know this was the area I was interested in. Should I take the room number off? Help, I'm driving myself crazy.lol

I picked a specific room and the one I got is literally underneath it. Same thing with Beach Club in November. The one we got was down the hall from the one I requested.

When I say what time I’m coming in to the resort, should I pick an earlier time to help my chances if getting a refurbished room?

I've used the service twice and each time we got the room right next to the specific one I requested (which was perfectly fine with us). Both times I put a specific room number and then in the notes I said something like, "I've requested room number XXXX but any room on that hallway will be fine. We are looking for a room that is on the first floor, in this particular hallway (to be away from the "main" hallway of the building in hopes of less foot traffic/noise), and close to transportation and the main building. If we have a lake view, that will be the icing on the cake!" Or something to that effect. I just wanted to provide enough information in the note so that the room assignor understood why I requested the room I did and could make a good decision if the specific room I requested wasn't available.

I’ve had decent luck going to the front desk to change my room if I didn’t like the location. At por that changed it right away but at akl we had to wait one night before switching.

Two more questions, sorry. 1.Not sure of our arrival time so I put 1:00 pm, will that be to early and lower our chances of a refurb room? 2. Why does it change my requests around? I put 80's section as number one request and highest floor for number two. It keeps switching them.
The same thing happened to me, my first request was the 70's section and second ground floor. When I went back to check ground floor was first then the 70's section.

I always say we're arriving at 9 AM even if we know we won't be there until later. I don't know if it helps, but I like getting the room ready text early!

Haley R...are you taking Magical Express? If so, I don't think the time option pops up because they base your arrival on your flight...at least that's whats happening with my on line check in.

Did you purchase your flights through Disney? I’ve never had this happen when checking in.

I am taking the magical express and you’re right all it says for me for arrival is magical express. I thought it used to let me pick a time.

Had a series of mildly unfortunate events, but we are finally settled in. Love the new rooms. Blown away by the amount of storage and outlets!

DME took FOREVER and then our MBs didn’t work. Made a call and they fixed it over the phone. Called “services” from the room and they took care of my request to decline housekeeping. I’m glad it’s all settled, but I won’t skip the front desk again. We decided to this time, as it was late and a long line.

Now the TV isn’t working, but we are going to sleep anyway. Hopefully it’s ok tomorrow since we have plans to come back early from Epcot.

Anyway I’ll check out the other buildings tomorrow. Oh and the floor isn’t dirty!:confused3
Maybe we got lucky! Good night!

What time did your plane get in? Do you know why dme took so long?

This is how it is for me every time we travel to Pop. It's always the first resort we stay at in a split stay, so the only time I am able to enter an arrival time is for the second half of our trip when we aren't arriving via DME.

Still looking for info on best preferred pool view rooms. Should I do ground floor or go higher? Didn’t really want a pool view due to the noise but that was all that was available when I booked. Thanks for any info you can share.

29 days and counting!!
