A person whom is wearing a suit crosses or folds their arms with hands tucked under their arm pits. I'm curious why someone does this because I wore suits during my working years and, I can not recall anyone doing this nor, imagine it would be comfortable.

I would say their hands are cold, and they're trying to warm up their hands. Weird to do in a suit, but I've seen plenty of people do it in jeans and a sweatshirt.

Thankfully my job does not require that I wear a suit often at all, but when I do have to it is usually for a big presentation or meeting with the higher ups which can be nerve wracking, and when I am anxious in that way I get very very cold, especially my hands, so I could see myself doing something like this just because I am freezing and shaking and trying to stay warm. Thankfully this is a very rare occurrence for me as I likely look ridiculous.

I've probably done it. Sometimes it's just nerves. I don't know what to do with my hands. Rather than fidget, I will cross my arms.

I think it really depends on the setting.
Was this person outside, in a room with air conditioning?
Were they in the middle of a meeting, a debate, just standing at the water cooler?
Is their name Mary Katherine Gallagher?

Board meeting.

Superstar!!

There’s no real reason for it. Unless they are about to lose their crap on someone and that’s their way of calming down...

I'm not a big believer in every way someone sits, stands, etc means anything. It usually has more to do with habits.
