Question about the Florida resident 3 or 4 day pass

I can't seem to find the information on the Disney website and was wondering if anyone knew the answer. I'm trying to decide between getting an annual pass or the 4 day pass for Florida residents. I have a trip planned for New Years Eve so I wanted to make sure if I got the 4 day pass that it doesn't have blackout dates? I know the current discount on for Florida residents (Discovery or something?) does have blackout dates, but that pass wouldn't work for my dates anyway. Has anyone bought the 4 day pass and used it on New Year's Eve?

From what I know from before there's always blackout dates at the more popular times on the 3 or 4 day pass, a lot more restrictive than the Discover Disney pass. About 5 years ago the regular FL resident passes started getting a lot more limited and restrictive with no discount on 1 day, blockout dates, not being able to get past 4 days, and no expiration being gone.

I used a FL resident four day pass last month 12/27-12/30 with no problems. If you look on line it will show if there are any blackout dates. Mine did not have any blackout dates and I think it was $220 plus tax.

Florida Resident 3- and 4-Day Discover Disney Ticket may be used any day until June 24, 2018, so you can come for a long weekend—or spread out the fun!
  • Tickets may be used on nonconsecutive days until June 24. 2018.

The above info is for the Discover disney ticket. But you can buy the Disney Select four day ticket and use that until the end of the year including Christmas week.

I was on the Florida Resident ticket page and that ticket is not listed.

I know my folks had that a couple times but thought it was a special offer when they got it like Discovery.

Only other ticket I found on FL Resident Page was Discover and One Day. Is it possible the one she is talking about is not being offered right now so that is why she (or I) can't find it?

Any answers @ravenclawtrekkie ?

The Florida Resident 3 and 4 Day Select tickets (which are the standard Florida 6-month tickets) are still available at the parks, but Disney usually takes them off the website when the Discover Disney tickets are available to prevent people accidentally buying them and then complaining about being overcharged.

They usually do have blockout dates, but some of the summer blockouts and the Xmas blockouts were lifted last year (2017), so who knows for the upcoming year.

The select tickets come up as a choice for me using this link and signing in to my MDE. I don’t see any blockout dates listed and as I mentioned I used them Christmas Week 2017. YMMV.

What good is coming for a long weekend if you cannot use the tickets 2-4 days in a row. Another one of WDW hollow deals.

No, that's not what it means. What it means is that you DON'T HAVE to use them in a row (like normal tickets have to be used in 14 days) ... you may use anytime up until the June date when they expire.

Here is another part of the page .....

Seeking flexibility? Florida Resident 3- and 4-Day Discover Disney Ticket may be used any day until June 24, 2018, so you can come for a long weekend—or spread out the fun!

DUH! My bad:crazy: Now that i re-read it! Thanks

Sorry, but I'm partially retired in my 40's and only do the weekday select pass (!~$280). I can't really help much, but the AP discounts alone are worth investigating.

I can see the 3 and 4 day Florida resident ticket, not the discover one. I tried looking around on the site, but it doesn’t mention anywhere on it that there are blackout dates associated with the ticket

Thanks, that all makes sense.

I did find it by googling but did not find it directly on the website.

Is it a shock that Disney's website is a mess? :rolleyes1

What is ironic is that they make all the effort to hide some things like this so you bite on others they are selling at the moment,
but they can't even update the little things like Rider Switch,
still has different rules than the pass and still does not include 7DMT which is almost 4 years old.

Having worked on websites .......... most of these informational things can be fixed in minutes ............ :confused3

It depends, how far do you live from WDW? If you live more than two hours away then an AP may not be worth it and the 3-4 day ticket would be better.. I think the blackout question was answered by pp.

No it's more about how many days do you plan to spend at WDW in the next year.

I live 8 hours away and have had an AP for many years. MORE than get my monies worth.

I was more so referring to the purpose of an AP, most AP holders live in the Orlando metro area or at least within 2-hour driving distance radius and hence reap the true benefits and flexibility of having an AP.. Of course if you plan on making the drive on a regular basis to visit WDW then it may be worth it for you from a financial standpoint, however, some may not see it that way as you are not necessarily within driving distance to WDW.. For example, I live 4 hours away from WDW and I would personally never consider getting an AP as I do not feel that I would be able to fully reap the benefits of having an AP, driving in for example for just dinner at Epcot would not make sense and wouldn't be worth the 8 hours of driving roundtrip..
