Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Where did you read it has an end date?

From this post this morning-

I just spoke to DSS. I was told the fast pass thing is a pilot program and if your reservation is after April, you cannot sign up yet. They suggested calling back shortly before the 90 day mark. They did confirm that the fps were nontiered and could be booked in more than 1 park in the same day.

From this post this morning-

Ahh, OK. I read that as you can't book it until your 90 day mark, hence the "cannot sign up yet" part. 90 days from today is roughly 4/12/18 (I didn't count that out exactly). I have a reservation 4/20 and they told me I can't book until 1/20/18, which is my 90 day mark. But maybe you are right?

Confusing...I was told if I wanted to book, I had to call 90 days from my check out date - so I'm 4/16-4/21 and they said I'd call 1/21...

Yeah, I could see it meaning either option. Since I'm staying in two weeks I haven't called for more info.

Just spoke to DSS, only five minute wait. So you do have pay for 3 days worth, it is per person. Tier system does not apply and can do multiple parks. You have to make the selections through them, cannotbe done online. Same with the night time viewing. Then you book your regular FP at 60 day mark online. I am at 89 days so can call back any time. Have to figure out my schedule before calling back. Hope this helps.

Some folks have covered many of these points above as well, but here's what I learned. Going to re-state some of the obvious stuff as well in case helpful.
  • $50 plus tax, per person, per day - 3 day minimum
  • Only available 3/13/2018 and beyond (so I couldn't book this for my late Feb trip)
  • It is bookable at the 90 day mark and must be done via DSS (eg, similar to how you would communicate with them now for dining reservations or FPs)
  • You cannot make the extra FPs via MDE
  • The extra FPs can be in any tier and any park
  • The extra FP times can't overlap with other FPs
  • Includes one reserved viewing area selection per night; choices are MK/HEA, Epcot/Illuminations, HS/Fantasmic!, AK/ROL
  • You can't book it before the 90 day mark (although you can submit what you want to DSS before the 90 day mark and they'll book it for you on your 90 day when they get in that day)
  • You select the extra FPs and nighttime viewing choices at the time of booking (although can be modified via DSS later)
  • Your regular three FPs are still bookable at the normal 60 day mark - no change there
  • The minimum three days do not need to be consecutive (I think)
  • Reserved viewing locations:
    • MK/HEA - Plaza Garden West (this is the fake grass/garden area in front of Casey's, the opposite garden from where they do the Plaza Garden dessert party)
    • Epcot/Illuminations - Germany, on the water near the glass blowing cart
    • HS/Fantasmic! - Near the dessert & VIP viewing experiance area
    • AK/ROL - Enter via the FP area, close to the water in that general FP area
  • There is a 1 day cancellation period
  • If you book this and then cancel a CL (or otherwise eligible) reservation after booking or modify it to a non-eligible room, the package will be cancelled and you'll receive a refund
I will caveat that this is very new and they stressed it is a trial. Information and details are not really tested, and with something with so many nuanced I suspect details may be fluid as we go along.

Let me know if you have any questions or if anything isn't clear. Hope it helps!

So question for Both previous posters....can you have DSS book fop and then have your own FP later in the day for fop? And I am guessing if you were a park hopper (like we are) you could do fop at AK, then Soarin and frozen at Epcot?

Here's what I learned from the CM I spoke to:

GADisneyDad14 is really organized and takes great notes! Anyway, I specifically asked if it is $50 + tax and was told no tax
.
I was given my date that I can purchase this option. I can email/call DSS about 1 week prior with my requests and CC# and they will book on the date that if it is available. They will confirm selections are available then will book them. Must be 3 days. No tiers. Can make at multiple parks each day.

I used FOP for all my examples as that will probably be the hardest one to come by. I asked if EFP1 was FOP @ 9m, FP+ EE @ 10, other 2 FP+ on the hr. Done with FOP @ 9:15, move EE to 9:30, finish and move other 2FP+ earlier each time, then see FOP available on FP+ . I can get FOP as a second ride as a 4th FP+ and this is ok. I can then call DSS to move my EFP2 to an earlier time (say TT) and if available can do that and also book Soarin' as a 5th FP+. So we will retain the possibility to move the FP+ to earlier times if available and can continue to add them as long as they don't repeat the EFP before it is used for the first time and that the times don't overlap. She had to put me on hold to verify this as she hadn't been asked that specifically.

We park hop so this could work to our advantage for touring. We could start at AKL, go back to enjoy SAB for a while then head to EP or HS for 2ndEFP later in the day and get multiple FP+ along the way.
Pretty sure we are going to try it.

Interesting. I wonder why from check out? Must be some logic I’m not thinking about.

I asked but the 90 from last date was all I was told. Seems like a strange way to do it. Does it make it more "fair"? I have a 7 day stay starting on the 1st. You have a 3 day stay starting on the 1st. I can't grab all those available from your pool of days because I have to start choosing later? Did I do that right?

Sorry I didn't ask a ton of questions. I really just wanted to see if I could beat GADisneyDad to DSS and posting first, lol. A real proud moment in my life that I accomplished that. Of course he had more info, but that is besides the point.
Seriously though, I didnt want to take up to much time with the CM since I was not prepared to make the reservations. My two cents worth: No need at all to rush into this if you are in the 60 to 90 day window, obviously this is not going to sell out. So figure out your plans and then make the reservations. Seems to me this makes most sense if you are park hopping, especially if you are in one park during the day and want to do the night time viewing at another park after dinner. I will say I will probably do it, because as I stated in an earlier post we do not go often so would like to maximize our time. I am nervous that MDE will screw this up when you go to do your regular 60 day FP reservation, ie is the system really going to be updated to be ok with you booking two Tier 1 rides? I am hoping someone else will be a guinea pig on that (GADisney Dad;))

I am really enjoying reading everyone’s different opinions on this new extra FP option! TBH, everyone has some extremely valid points whether for or against the new trial. Personally, I am hoping the trial continues until my trip for Memorial Day week! Like many others have said, we usually fall into the 3-4 hours of park time per day group because we really enjoy the pool/lounge time! However, I feel like if I plan well, we may spend a bit more time at parks on the extra FP Days, but we may actually spend more time at the resort on the other days because we knocked out 6 great rides in one day...going to the later part of the first FP window and hitting the last FP at the start of the window (as someone else suggested) and doing the last couple of FPs between apps and dessert (which obviously works better if you go to the closest park like MK if you are staying in the monorail loop). We’ve been doing it this way for a while anyway, but the extra FPs given to us by concierge have sometimes been limited because of availability...and even if they graciously gave us a FPs for any ride, it never includes the new rides (like FOP). I will be interested to get actual feedback once some of you have tried it, but with the roll out of the new policy on good neighbor hotels, I feel like I won’t get any of the most popular rides without buying the extra FPs since we can book at 90 days. I probably wouldn’t buy them for a shorter trip, but for a week long trip, you can average it into your hotel cost as if it were an included perk and it doesn’t seem as bad considering what you’re already paying. Of course, Disney is the big winner out of all this but that is to be expected, unfortunately.

Very funny @no one. To be honest, I had a doc appointment at 8:30 which held me up. I was like “c’mon doc, let’s hurry this up!” :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

@Dispro1 - you are so right. So many different touring styles amongst all of us. Very interesting to read how it does or doesn’t work for everyone.
Oh excuses, excuses. I held up a real estate closing this morning, all in the name of helping the DIS, lol.
