This week's episode had me question the CM room access

I think we are getting trolled here. There is no other logical explanation. Maniac let us know where you are staying and when so I can protect myself from an unwarranted attack.

Honestly, this is weak. I presented a valid concern and you resort to mocking for unknown reasons.

No, OP is serious. He's posted in other threads about security measures. Thing is, there are some valid points here, but leading with wondering about potential repercussions for beating an intruder with a bat started things off on a strange note.

The usual concerns being voiced about CM entry to a resort room don’t even approach the concerns or possible repurchussions of the OP.

You haven’t established any valid reason in the slightest for your over the top concerns. No mock.

"Maniac let us know where you are staying and when so I can protect myself from an unwarranted attack." - a clear mock in my opinion.

My reasoning is that I am concerned about protecting myself and my family on Disney/other property. I was asking questions to what extent can I do it. That is well within valid reasoning.

Your mocking tells me that you either don't agree or can't generate a valid response.

So we don't agree, but I didn't resort to mocking. This should go reported to the moderators in my opinion.

I asked you earlier to check with Disney to gauge their response to you arming yourself with weapons on property. My guess is that they would recommend against it.

Even with this new policy I don’t feel unsafe or feel the need to protect myself at Disney. It’s the same as before the new policy was introduced.

Yep. Can’t believe it’s creating such a reaction.

I think Disney’s reaction is well warranted and makes sense in light of recent events. I think that they are working to increase guest confidence in security and safety while on property. I have never seen this as an invasion of privacy issue.

I stayed at BLT last week. Normally DVC rooms don’t get daily housekeeping but now with the new policy that has changed. We were never disturbed while in the room and knew they came because our garbage and towels were changed every day.
Yep. I’m sure you went through quite a few with your activities. Congrats on another successful run.

Thanks! I even took some naps in the room which I never normally do at Disney and was surprised I was never disturbed.

This really isn't that hard, is it? If you're concerned about someone barging into your room, put the slider/deadbolt on when you're in the room. If someone comes knocking and wants access to the room, I'm sure it's reasonable for you to ask them to present ID. If you don't believe them for some reason, I'm sure it is also reasonable for you to tell them that you want to call the front desk and confirm their identity/purpose before letting them into the room. I mean, I've always assumed that a resort employee could and would access my room for maintenance or other legitimate reasons and used the slider/deadbolt specifically when i wanted to restrict their entry.

This has been recommended multiple times during the course of the thread.

I know. I guess it is just so obvious that i don't understand all the consternation. How does the removal of a door hanger turn into a scenario where you have to bring a weapon and consider a scenario where you're assaulting resort employees?

I agree. Been trying to figure out the second part.

Agreed and I stated that in post #19 in this thread. A simple phone call to the front desk could be used to qualify a CM.
