Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Argh! I wish I knew this! I thought that was exorbitant! Any money I saved ordering drinks and snacks was absorbed by this fee! I should have questioned it! THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW!!!

My thought was that even if the price went up, it shouldn't have gone up THAT much. $30 for one box is ridiculous.

Yes, the fee (charged by the Convention Center business office to receive a package) is based on the weight of the package. But the chart they have online says that the fee for a 47 pound box is $10 and @Donna3271 was charged $30.

Sandcastle Club at BC shutting down July 31, 2018.
Did they say why they are closing it? We are going July, and we're planning on using it once so we can have a night out at World Showcase - hoping our boys get a good experience while they are there - it was looking like it was more exciting (like the Disney Cruise activities) so we were looking forward to it for them.

They are closing all the Kids Clubs due to lack of demand.

July 31 will be the last day that the Children's Activity Centers will be open, according to this article: http://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts/wal...hildrens-activity-centers-later-this-year.htm

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the price of the wine at the Market at Ale and Compass is by the bottle? Here are some examples:

Kenwood Yulupa - white zinfandel $11.00

La Crema - pinot noir $23.00

Conundrum - red blend $27.00

Parducci - merlot $11.00

Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi - cabernet sauvignon $7.50

That's great news.

Can anyone there now (or soon) confirm?

::yes::

We have used Safeway 4 times now and it is great!! First time using I believe I received $20 off a $45 order and free delivery. Prices are great and they also get what I order. I have always just had them leave with Bell Services, but we haven’t ordered any alcohol so I’m not sure if that would be an option. I highly recommend them!!

@Simba's Girl Thanks for your BC Deluxe room review! We have one of those booked for a week following a 4 night stay at CR Tower Club. We love BC and this will be our first time in a Deluxe room. Can you elaborate on why you requested that specific block of xx57 rooms? Can't wait to see your pics!

I thought that we had a better chance of a large balcony if we requested that set of rooms. Be careful though because I believe the third floor deluxe room on that side only has a small balcony! If you do a search in this thread you can see the details of the deluxe rooms and their locations.

I think I saw those posts earlier. I think being close to the quiet pool would be nice. That is where the guest laundry is, right, by that pool?

I am really enjoying hanging out on this thread again. Congratulations Dee and all the posters who have contributed to making this #4 in 2017! I am not surprised. :)
So, one of the things I do when I am planning a trip, (besides hanging out on the DIS), is to read the hotel reviews on Trip Advisor. I was really surprised to see so many negative reviews of the BC! Some saying that they could hear the people very clearly in the next room, complaints about mousekeeping, and maintenance issues. Some even said the rooms looked tired and run down. These are recent reviews too, post refurb. Any thoughts?

For those wondering about the height of the beds in the YC refurbished rooms, this photo will allow you to compare the height of the beds to the day bed. I previously estimated the top of the mattress to be about 5"-6" higher than normal.

Did they ever add a bedrunner to the foot of the beds? It is just so plain looking:(.
Do the Beach Club beds still have runners? Is it crazy that I am really sad about this?!

This is a photo my friend sent me of the YC refurbished rooms last January:

Disney has since removed the runners from all resort beds. I read multiple reasons like cleanliness and theft.

I'm assuming these are "by the glass" prices....or a mix of "by the glass" and a full bottle...but these would be awfully cheap bottle prices...especially in Disney.

I was reading the same reviews on Trip Advisor a few days ago. Not good. It will be our first stay at BC in March. Any thoughts on the room noise, transportation, mousekeeping reviews?
