Where to dine on my birthday?

Momma to three boys here who really wants to do a themed meal (location or experience) when we are there on my actual birthday in August. Bonus if it is girly because honestly there are days that I miss the fact that I did not get a Disney princess.

If it were my bday I would totally splurge for Akershus! Every single princess will be there. And from what I have read on these boards the food is better than at CRT.

I feel like this depends on a lot of things like what park you want to be at (if any) and what your plans are for the rest of the day.

If it were me I would leave the boys with their dad to do rides and go get a blow out and/or mani pedi at the spa at the Grand Floridian and then have the boys meet me for dinner at 1900 Park Fare where you have Cinderella, Prince Charming and then the evil stepmother and sisters. The character interactions are fun and different and you still get to feel like a princess while you are interacting with them but are are a little less saccharine than a full on princess dining experience which mean the boys might have more fun with it.

If you want to be in a park I feel like CRT, BOG, or Akershus are all good options, I have eaten dinner at all 3 and of the 3 I think CRT was the best but all are enjoyable and with all the princesses and castles involved you can't help but feel like a princess

We have APs so our plans tend to always be fluid. I’m ok wherever, I just want some advice because we’ve never done a girly meal even though we go there almost yearly.

Another nice "girly" experience is Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian.

You sound like me! I have one DS and dragged him to all of the "princess" stuff when he was little, before he had a chance to object to hanging out with the princesses. I even took him to BBB when he was 5 to get the "prince" makeover because (I fully admit it!), I wanted to see the inside of BBB!!! LOL!

Personally, I would do Akershus. Of the princess meals, I think the food is the best and the character interaction is very good. It also won't cost as much as CRT (where I found the service to be quite impersonal and the food mediocre).

Hmmmm. For myself I’d probably pick Sanaa because I’ve wanted to go the last 2 trips but the kids (and husband) vetoed it. For girly I’d probably do Akershus or CRT. Or California Grill brunch (we loved dinner!).

All good suggestions here. I would throw 1900 Park Fare into the mix. It's girly themed to an extent but the fact that they have the step sisters might be more enjoyable for your whole family. I loved the food and the characters plus, for me, I love the Grand Floridian and that's where I would feel special on my birthday.

My wife goes to the spa while on vacation. She prefers Mandara at Dolphin.

Family can meet you at Dolphin for their Signatures, or your can meet them along nearby Boardwalk (ESPN is boy friendly) - with boys going to Parks that are within walking distance.

Or, in the same vicinity is Bon Voyage breakfast at Trattoria al Forno - Rapunzel & Ariel are joined by their respective Princes (and it's not a buffet meal; it's a la carte).

Oh, yeah! I couldn't agree more. This is my birthday meal in a couple of weeks!!

While I agree to some extent, I was clearly not thinking when I willingly chose to get married 5 days after my birthday. Generally my birthday is family focused and my anniversary is couple focused since these two events happen so close to each other.

I am kicking off my 9 day birthday trip with dinner at CRT - planning on ordering a bottle of champagne too. On my actual birthday we are going to Akershus!

There was nothing curt intended in that reply. I apologize for the unintended offense.

My husband and I often joke, especially after those first few years of marriage, that we really didn't carefully think about the dates while in love. We'd have this super nice birthday dinner and date night for my birthday often spending $200+. And then, five days later, we'd try to redo that. Since we never do those kind of things throughout the year - it was too much and a huge budget buster. We should have gotten married in April/May and spread out the celebrating IMO.
