Where will the Star Wars Resort go up? Will it be behind Star Wars land area on the other side of the road?

We do not know for sure, but if I had to guess I would say somewhere in this area.
Does it need to be that big? If it is supposed to be a contained environment (i.e., in space) then it seems to me that it could occupy that bottom wedge east of World Drive and north of the Hollywood Studios entry road. No?

I believe that entrance to the studios is going away so they won’t have to work around the roadway. I’d say that area the poster pointed out is pretty approximate to where it’s gonna be

I am thinking the hotel will be within that space, not necessarily that it will take up the entire space. As the other poster pointed out the current entrance will no longer be needed when the new entrance opens. I stopped the blue area on the right at about where the new entrance road is.

Love the pictures! Toy story land looks like its not making very much progress where SWGE looks like a lot more has been done. Both look like they have a loooooong ways to go.

Toy Story doesn't have much left. Major construction is done. Its now working on pathways, and the exteriors of the buildings.

And if Disney's record at this is anything to go by, I guess TSL should open ... Summer 2019 ? I Joke, but seriously, a lot of Themeing to get done there, and it really does take disney a good amount of time to get those details done. I was hoping for DVC / AP opening in May.

True but I guess since I'm always looking at the updates I can't see the progress. I think I'm looking more forward to going than my kids! is that wrong? lol

People said the same about Pandora about the same time last year. There's got to be a lot less theming for Toy Story, just by virtue of no glowing plants and overgrown wildlife everywhere.

The comparison to Splash are good...but, as you say, Splash is much better (much longer, more detail, more to look at, more story, etc.). 7D seems like a tentative project to me...like they weren't confident about it for some reason, and decided to minimize their risk by making it shorter and thus less expensive. Of course, they only have so much space to work with, but if they needed for space they could have found it.

Or more likely, significant budget impacts.

I think it was a combination of space and budget ... obviously with unlimited budget you could make anything work, but it was something added in as version 2 of the plans for New(ish) Fantasyland and they had to shoehorn it into the space AND get the construction equipment there, etc. so not the easiest or projects.

I think they did a good job for what it is is - I know my kids love it. Yeah, would be great if it was even 50% longer, but it is what it is

you can already see a bunch of trees and other plants that have been put in, so that makes me think they are close to the final stretch - I still think that a similar opening to Pandora (full opening Memorial Day weekend, previews during May) is likely

Previews should happen before May.

Yep I haven’t heard otherwise at this time.

Hey Ryan, are they thinking the new entrance to Studios will be open Memorial day as well? Looks like most of the infrastructure is in place as far as grading, drainage, etc. Thinking we should start to see paving shortly.
