It could happen on any ride though. Someone said they got stuck on 7dmt too. It definitely wasn’t as long of an issue but still happened.
Oh geez, Seven Dwarfs too?! I missed the report on that one.

I am in the group next up and I feel like I'm about to run the gauntlet. I thought the worst of it was trying to get a FP for Flight of Passage during the 30 day window or a reservation at BoG. I survived both of those and came out victorious and unscathed. And now to be done in by some cute little dwarfs just isn't right. It just isn't right, I tell ya.

SDMT - entered at 10:32 and only had a 5 min wait (MDE said 30 min). We did get stuck on the track twice with the first stop occurring on the climb up the hill. We didn’t want to take any chances of getting stuck for longer so we only rode once.
This is the post I saw it in.

I was the one who posted about SDMT. We were only stuck for about 1 min. But I knew about PoTC and Peoplemover so it was enough for me to start to get nervous. that and we were the back row so it was quite uncomfortable!

I really wouldn’t be worried. If you go into the night thinking it’ll be bad and something will happen you will probably have a lot less fun.
Oliver, is that you? LOL! That is exactly what my friend said when I was stressing out about getting the lanyards. Or the weather report indicating there might be a few showers next week. Or getting the perfect spot to see the parade, etc. He said " Relax, it'll all work out don't worry. We're going to have a fabulous time regardless what comes our way. " I worry. But you both are right. I shall leave the flask at home and go with the flow.

I see. People Mover seems particularly susceptible with all that breaking down going on. Good thing I have it scheduled to ride during the day. Pirates has me a little worried but I'll have to take my chances in the evening.

Space mountain broke down Monday for a solid two plus hours.

Last time I checked I wasn’t named Oliver lol but oh well. I think dah will be awesome no matter what! I can’t wait to take my niece for her first trip and have the park be far less crowded!

Our tickets linked automatically to my MDE account. We did receive the hard tickets in the mail as well.

For those who used their plastic DAH tickets to get in, did they scan your MB as well?

We have ours linked to our MB’s but I’m just going to bring the dah tickets and use those instead to get in.

From what I recall, if the tickets are linked, using them is just like using a magic band to enter.

There was a problem a few years ago where a few people used party tickets (can't recall if halloween or Christmas) to enter the MK and instead a day of their regular tickets was used. The explanation at the time was that ALL linked ticket media act just like a magic band. Not sure if that is still the case, but I guess I would be careful trying to get in too early with the DAH ticket if it is linked and you have regular park tickets in your account.

Yes! Walked up and handed the cards to a CM who scanned them and told us several locations where we could get lanyards. None of them were correct but we used our FP and finally got the lanyards around 7pm.
Were your cards linked to your account?

Good news! I went to guest relations at the front of Magic Kingdom this afternoon to nicely complain, asking for any possible compensation for the people mover debacle last night. Four members of my family were stuck for about 35 minutes. I'd have been happy with three anytime anywhere fast passes per person or $60 refund. I feel that would have been objectively fair. I'm not one to ask for undeserved or unpaid for handouts. But I also mentioned I'd also be interested in checking on adding an extra Magic Kingdom park day onto my and my daughter's account to go later in the week. Originally we'd only purchased two park days plus DAH. He added two complimentary park passes to our accounts, one for each of us, as compensation for people mover. My husband isn't interested in going again (party pooper lol) and my son already has an annual pass so he was already set. So I am more than happy with this. Stoked for our free Magic Kingdom day this Friday! Wish I'd taken note of the cast member's name.

Yea!! So happy they made it right for you! I did not stop today but may still send an email. We didn't even use our 3 regular fastpasses today because we only stayed at the park a few hours. Going to Disney Springs tonight so no use for the fastpass tonight either.

I did recieve an awesome compensation during the construction announcement fiasco at CBR for our trip in December. We had a free dining bounceback, got a $75 a night credit originally & then got the $75 a night gift card too. I applied the gift card to this trip & it essentially paid for my resort. I feel kind of ambivalent about asking for anything else when Disney already covered my 3 night hotel stay! :rolleyes1 I don't want to ask for more compensation but want them aware that 1 fastpass for missing 30 minutes of a 3 hour paid event is not making guests happy.

Oh no this is too much. Ok, maybe I will bring the flask after all, for medicinal purposes, you understand.

We had a 10:20am FP and had a solid 2pm time to head to airport deadline. IT was up and running by 12:3oish?? - literally it was all FP with the standby line sated at 130 minutes but no one in the line.

That’s exactly why I asked! @GADisneyDad14 warned about just that. If they take the plastic DAH ticket and scan it then you’re in the clear I would assume... but maybe not? If you scan your MB too early it might just grab a regular day park ticket. Trying to get to the bottom of that.

I would like to know this too. I have the cards linked but I would like to know if it would hurt anything if I only scan the cards and not my mb.

When do the dates for this usually get released? We are going from May 25 for 8 nights. Not that I am interested in attending, but wondering if park hours will be affected if they offer this during our week?

So we went back to MK this morning & rode peoplemover with no problems. Ended up stuck on Carousel of Progress for a bit tho! :rotfl2:

Not entirely Disney's fault. It has happened to us before. Guests try to exit during the show & the ride can't move to the next scene. We ended up repeating the first scene 3 times.

Despite our peoplemover debacle we had a great time at DAH. I wish the event was a little longer, I'd have loved 4 hours!! And I already have DH committed to doing it again next year if it continues! I agree it wasn't an empty park but also really no waits. It did feel like the after hours paid event from the 90's that someone mentioned before.

We started the day at Epcot for a few hours. If we do this again next year, we will not do a park earlier in the day. We are both early 60's & while healthy, not in great shape. We rested for an hour or so in the afternoon, but my DH was feeling sore by 9ish. Which of course got a little worse coz we stiffened up sitting in the peoplemover.

We had dinner at GF cafe. Took the bus to MK from POR & monorail to GF. Monorail was stopped before we even got on & took about 45 minutes from MK to GF. We entered MK about 7:15 or so with no line at all. Did Pirates with a fastpass.

Our rides after that :

Country Bears as event started
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan
Little Mermaid ride
Frozen banana & Mickey bars
Pooh
Buzz Lightyear
Astro orbiter
Popcorn & Coke
Peoplemover

*(Would have done buzz a few more times here & small world)*

Mine Train (only ride wait of the night)
Philharmagic
Jungle Cruise
Tiki room

Kiss goodnight in our way out. Too tired to hang around for photopass on the way out.

We did have to wait for shows as our timing wasn't good. Like I said, we're kind of old & are not interested in the bigger rides really. I still feel we got good value. I was really happy with the night & hope Disney continues it!!
