Celebrity Silhouette Family Veranda

Hi All - apologize in advance if this isn't the correct place to ask a question, but the Celebrity Silhouette appears to be a Solstice class ship. Our understanding is that the family verandas are similar, if not identical.

Does anyone have any experience in staying in a family veranda at the front of the ship? We are considering booking this category and would appreciate feedback.

Thanks!

We’ve stayed in them four times. Fantastic cabin! The rooms are about 500 sq feet. The master bedroom has a king bed with two nightstands, a closet and a cabinet and storage over the bed. Nice big window too. No tv, which is bit of a bummer, but we just spent our evenings reading and enjoying each others’ company.

The living room has a big window facing forward, as well as a sliding door our to the balcony. Large balcony. The room has a couch, two chairs, dining by table with four chairs and a dresser with six drawers. The couch becomes a bed. There is s second bedroom with single bunk beds and a closet. No window, but it’s a great little room for kids.

One bathroom. Standard Celebrity bath.

This cabin is by far the best accommodation I’ve had on a ship. I’d love a second bath, but it’s great value for money.

Quiet cabin, movement of the ship not an issue

The reports that I have been reading suggested there can be excessive/loud noises when docking or maneuvering. Also, a couple of reviewers said there are massive vibrations when docking. Did you experience anything like this?

I would not say excessive. You could hear some noise upon docking. Nothing that bothered our sleep. Massive vibrations would also be an overstatement. Again, you are on a moving vessel—there will be some experience of movement/manoeuvring of the ship. Nothing that disrupted us.

We’ve spent upwards of forty nights in that stateroom. I’d book it again as a first choice if travelling.

I think there are 7000 and 8000 level family verandas. Can I ask which one(s) you stayed in? I believe the 8000 rooms have a bigger veranda and 7000 seem to be the ones that folks are complaining about noise/etc.

Thanks!

hertamaniac did you book the family veranda and if so which deck? I am interested because I believe our agent has booked us on the less favourable of the two options but he does not seem to know much about the difference. Thank you very much.
