Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

For the coffee pot in the villas, does anyone know how many filters they give you?

Thanks
Our experience in the villas is that there usually aren't any extra filters for the coffee pot. They leave a packet of coffee in a filter bag for your arrival day, but that was all we had. I always brought coffee and filters from home.

We have not stayed at the Beach Club Villas yet (its one location on my list)
However, I have searched and can't seem to find the answer to the following question about Stormalong Bay Pool.
I know there is sand in the bottom of the pool and my 12 year old is concerned that when she swims in the pool she will get sand in her eyes.
Has anyone encountered this?
Is it a valid concern or an unlikely circumstance?
Is the sand in the bottom of the entire pool or are there areas that don't have as much.

Thank you in advance for the information.
Tina
Does she wear goggles? Even if she doesn't she won't have any issues at all..the sand is much coarser and heavier than real sand. She's going to LOVE it!

If you actually mean filters with no coffee, then none. We are here now and received 4 coffee packs (pre-packed coffee inside a filter that drops into the filter basket). One De-caff and 3 regular. This is what we received in a studio at the villas.

I just booked a one bedroom BCV for our anniversary (May 29th). We're going May 23-31!

We debated between the space of the villa and a concierge level room, and the space won out. We like to relax in the room, and would rather have a living room, our own washer/dryer so we don't bring home dirty clothes (and I don't have to go to the laundry room to do it), and the kitchen we'll stock with snacks and wine/champagne/beer and breakfast food (although I don't eat breakfast).

I haven't stayed at the Beach Club since we had kids (and honestly it was a disaster with housekeeping back then). We love Epcot and will enjoy the last weekend of F&G! Of course now that our youngest is away in college (I'm a stay at home mom) for the first time we'll get to go to F&W in the fall! Getting DH an annual pass (I'm upgrading my ticket to one in March).

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

Happy dance time! Extending our upcoming trip two days, now arriving on Sept 16th! :cool1: Over a week at the BC now! So excited!

Got it!

I'll amend your listing.

:goodvibes

Got my birthday booked for the Beach Club at a 20% discount this June, directly with Disney. Anyone do any better there during June with a higher percent off?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:thumbsup2

Booked last minute trip for Feb 22-28 taking 3 year old twins and our 5 month old staying at Beach Club- can't wait!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Have a fantastic trip!

:woohoo:

From outside facing the room. All three doors under the overhang are part of Room 101.

Just back from a week at BCV. We were in room 101 which was my exact room request through Touring Plans. Loved this location. Ground floor, near the main entrance. Easy access to the Marketplace, bus stops, quiet pool and path to Epcot. Super quiet as it was an end room in a short hallway. It was a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queens in the second bedrooom. I completely blanked on taking pics of the room, but here are pics from the patio!

Thanks so much for these room view photos and description! I am going to add your post to the BCV Room View thread.

:disrocks: There are so many people with great info AND just as many with strong opinions.

I was lying in bed this morning thinking about my upcoming trip. For the first time I decided not to get a length of stay pass to force myself to do "non-park" things on some days. One of those days I will be taking the Backstage Magic tour. This morning it occurred to me that I have to get from the Yacht Club to the front of Epcot by 9 AM. Eeek. So close, yet so far away. I didn't plan to use one of my ticketed days that day, and I'm not sure I would have enough time anyway based on what time the International Gateway opens.

Thoughts? (I hate to say it, but I've also considered canceling since my hip has been bothering me lately. This may be the straw that forces my decision. :( )

I loved the Backstage Magic tour, so I wouldn't cancel. it's a wonderful tour. My suggestion is to Uber/Lyft to the Epcot entrance.

We arrive at the BC on Saturday (yay!!!) and are doing EMM on Tues. We have 2 kids, and both should really be in at least booster seats, so we were planning on taking the Minnie Vans to get to the MK in time. However, I've seen reports that they are not always available. If we end up having to take the bus, what time would we need to be at the BC bus stop to make it to MK in time by 7:30ish? I'm leaning towards just using Lyft if we can't get a minnie van but would feel better if we could car seats.

Thanks for the encouragement for the tour and alternate transportation. Despite staying at the Yacht Club, taking the Backstage Magic tour (and having dinner that night at Yachtsman Steakhouse) I'm basically a cheapskate at heart and hate to spend money for Uber when it's so close and i should be able to walk. Disney math strikes again! :rotfl2:

It's a very long day when u do that tour. Don't burn all your energy before the tour even starts.

If u enter your Delta frequent flyer number into your Lyft account, you will get discounts applied automatically to your Lyft rides. If you don't use Delta, do it anyway.

Has anyone tried Ale and Compass restaurant for dinner? I looked on TripAdvisor and people mostly complain that they don't give you any bread with dinner. If you want bread, you have to pay $12, which is kind of ridiculous. The menu looks okay, but nothing great. Thanks for any info.

We had a great dinner there when we were there two weeks ago.
We had the Roasted Garlic shrimp and Parker house rolls as Starters. Both were really good.
My wife had the Smoked Barbecue porkchop and I had the 16oz T-Bone. Both were excellent! My wife's only complaint was they put too much sauce onthe pork chop and it would have been better on the side. My T-Bone was cooked perfectly and was delicious.

The service was very attentive. Although the dining room is a bit loud. I recommend it.

Hey folks... Thought I would give my thoughts on our recent stay at Yacht Club as a first timer.

Getting off Magical express on Sunday morning in front of the resort was actually kind of magical. The resort is very beautiful... (I know you all know this but this was my first time back to Disney in 25+ years and first time ever staying on property for my Wife and me.)

We were greeted by some very helpful cast members who directed us to the check-in area. We were acknowledged by a gentleman who was dressed up in some yachting regalia but it was only a cursory glance and welcome... he seemed stiff and uncomfortable.

Check-in was very smooth and the cast members were great. We were told that we were Upgraded to Club level! YAY! We had reserved a standard garden view so we were excited about that. One of the CM's winked and said she thought we would REALLY like the upgrade. I didn't know why but was very grateful to be club level. ( we had no idea what was coming). We did not ask for any upgrades or favors. We were celebrating 5 years together and I think my TA put that in our reservation. (maybe that had something to do with it?)

The room was immediately ready and so we went up to the room. ( Room 3155 )
We were a bit perplexed as to why our room number was on three different doors and it started to sink in a little. We opened up the room and discovered that we had been upgraded to the Turret Suite which is a two bedroom / three bathroom suite. HOLY COW! I mean... HOLY COW this room was amazing!
I have included some pictures below. ( I had a panoramic but it wouldn't allow me to upload it.)

The room was amazing. The cast members were also amazing and so very helpful with everything. This, as I said was our first experience with staying on property and we will DEFINITELY do it again. I can not say enough good things about this resort and we can not wait to come back.
If you have any questions let me know I will try and answer the best I can.
