How large are the safes at the Polynesian?
I’m concerned about storing my valuables in my room during these new security checks, especially when I am at the pool. I won’t want to lug my huge purse down there and have it sitting in plain sight while I’m swimming.
What I do is just take my valuables out of my purse and put them in the safe. I then put my purse in a drawer or closet. I try not to bring a big purse on vacation anyway. It is just too much to carry.

Here is a pic of the Poly safe. Hope that helps.

Hi everyone. I have a question. I am staying in a DVC standard view studio at Poly. Can anyone tell me how far of a walk it could be to the main lobby and the pools? Just trying to get some info together. My sister and niece are thinking of going and this is the type of info they want.

See map above: DVC is Pago Pago, Tokelau and garden side or Moorea for std . I would request Tokelau but it's a popular building so no guarantees. Poly is not a very large resort so from those building to lobby and pools is not bad at all. Ttc is just right of resort , a short path away.

FYI the bus stop is south east of ranontga, that small triangle at the bottom of the map.

We stayed in 3035 in Moorea. If you look at the map, you'll see it's about as far from the ceremonial house as you can get, but it's still relatively close. I'd say it took about 3 minutes to get from the ceremonial house to the main entrance of our building.

We just got home from Poly. It was amazing!!!! I was surprised the pool was still open because I was expecting it to close 2/5 but they had a sign out saying it’s closing tomorrow (2/12).
I’m already thinking about when we can go back!
How was your room? Which building?

We were in Raratonga, third floor. I did online check in and requested first floor but I really didn’t care where we were, I just wanted a patio or balcony and third floor has them so I was happy. The room was a perfect size (me, DH, and our two kids 6 & 1).
I actually felt lucky getting that building because it was just steps away from the GCH. Getting coffee from Capt Cooks in the morning was super convenient.
I loved the torch lighting ceremony, watching fireworks from the beach and just the general ambiance of the resort. The pool was great and I thought the food at Capt Cooks was good. The monorail was great the whole time...I really had the best time there.

Do you have any pics of your view?

Did you face the pool or the monorail? If the monorail, what did you think of the view? Could you hear the resort music from your balcony?

We were facing the monorail, but there were a lot of palm trees right outside of our room so it still felt tropical. I was fine with the view and the balcony felt private enough with all the foliage that you could sit out and have a drink and not feel like you were staring right at a parking lot.
I could hear faint music but I use a white noise machine for the baby anyway so sleeping was no issue. I’m as hooked on the white noise as DS is now so I’d probably use it even if he didn’t need it anymore :)

LOL! I love that! We booked a standard view and I worry those rooms aren't as "tropical" as others at the resort, but you have me convinced they are fine! The reason I asked about the music is because we love to sit on the balcony and drink a beer and listen to the music! It may make us nerds but its so relaxing and the resort music is the best!

Hey everyone!!! So excited that we just booked our first stay at the Poly for August!!!!! I know its going to be HOT but do people hang out on the beach during the day? I know you cant get in but my family really likes the beach vibe. We will be spending a lot of time in the pools but thought we could hang out there too??

We go in August and yes it is hot. We are going this August too...5 nights at BC followed by 5 night at the Poly...I am just getting a little sad and now want to switch to more at the Poly but I won’t give in....

Anyways, we have see people sitting on the beach in lounge chairs but I won’t do it during the day time. It’s not like a real beach with a constant breeze that you don’t realize you are getting burnt! We just sit pool side and swim in the pool, go back and sit.
