DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Morning boys from a leafy and sunny Surrey. FIL hopefully out tomorrow, done a few jobs for MIL and then on a run where I had no idea where I was going so turned from a 10k into a half marathon. At least I know I’ve got it in my legs. West Ham won 2-0 yesterday to push into the top half of the table. Stayed up to watch the downhill, but it was postponed. That’s all folks from this side of the pond. Have a great Sunday.

Nice run.

We are in the Olympic lull right now. We can watch live stuff early in the morning or later in the evening.

Right now DW and I are watching Newcastle take down Man U.

Happy Sunday. A 12 hour day of work today. Came home and drank some tequila. Forget who recommended the resperado, but yeah, that is way better. Still went with the Cabo Wabo, but the rested didn't have that initial bite of the white.

That's quite a run, which is about a half marathon more than I ever plan on running. Congrats to your FC.

I love the Olympics and understand some events were postponed but does NBCSN need to become the Curling network? I enjoy Curling but do we have to watch every second of every match?

Had yet another successful trip last week :worship:. Have a few maybe less known great food options on property to share that may be less known. In HS at Rosie's in Fairfax Fair area you can get a side of onion straws ( somewhat like the onion petals from the Outback or Texan Tonions from Long Horn) you can order it as a side but it is not on the menu at the cost of 3.29. Also in the MK at Frier's Nook you can get a fried Twinkie. Now the next one we left the parks to get at Coronado Springs to the Pepper Mill to get a Cheese Steak cooked to order:cool1: being from New Jersey I will say it is close to what you will get in my area:thumbsup2 (expect at least a 10 min wait) also if your kids like chicken fingers they also have them instead of the standard nuggets:goodvibes

So far, it looks like curling and figure skating are the only events at the Olympics. I did see about 5 minutes of luge.

Morning, gents.

Only seen a little of the Olympics so far. Been too busy.
Saw some men’s snow boarding and women’s moguls. Fun to watch.

I hate watching curling, but I got right into a Korea/Russia match.

The Olympics. The time you watch sports that you either never heard of or wouldn’t be caught dead watching.

Morning all.

The great thing about working in sports is nobody can complain when you stream the Olympics in your office.

School was cancelled here again today for some reason, not really sure why. Maybe someone is trying to make a case for a 4 day school week.

Have a good one all.

Morning all. Schools closed here and I'm taking the day off.

Oldest dd's swim relay team medaled at Regionals, but not fast enough for state cut. And so, swim season ends.

Yes, curling is great.

I didn't know about the fried twinkie. I've had one at a local fair before. I'll have to try it at MK.

Congrats to your DD on the medal, too bad about state though. Is she the one that plays tennis as well?

Happy Monday gents, enjoyed watching the Olympics over the weekend. It seems most of you are taking at least some of it in.

Watching short track speed skating, its like watching a demolition derby on ice.
It's on of my favourite things to watch. But can be stressful at times, depending who you are cheering for. I still remember the Australian guy who won gold because everybody ahead of him fell. Can't remember the games - was it Salt Lake City? Or Torino?

No worries, clinched the 3rd seed with an 88-51 win. The top 3 teams in the Province are in this regional so it is a tough one to get through.
Sounds like a tough challenge ahead, good luck to them.

FIL hopefully out tomorrow, done a few jobs for MIL
Hope your FIL is doing OK.

We are in the Olympic lull right now. We can watch live stuff early in the morning or later in the evening.
I'm finding this one really hard to follow due to the time difference. I guess there were a bunch (Vancouver, London, Rio) that weren't too different in terms of time. I didn't find Sochi that bad.

The great thing about working in sports is nobody can complain when you stream the Olympics in your office.
I watched about a minute on the CBC app this morning, just to see if work blocked it or not. I could watch, but thought best not to test those waters. Must be a fun perk of your job though.

Overall happy with the season? Congrats to her on the medal.

And so....... disappointed? Or breathing a sigh of relief?

Maybe both. State championships are at UK, which has the Olympic pool & diving platforms. Watched her there one year (didn't win) but it was impressive. It's also 3 hours away, hotel, etc.

Congrats to your DD on the medal, too bad about state though. Is she the one that plays tennis as well?

No, my younger daughter is the tennis player. My older one plays, but i think it is just for the outfit.

Overall happy with the season? Congrats to her on the medal.

Happy enough. Her times mostly stayed the same, which was what I expected after ending the club team. So, she's good enough for HS and can compete in all the Medley events, but won't improve enough for state without extra coaching and practice time. She's happy with that, so I guess I am as well.

Evening boys, from a beautifully bright but cold London. The kids are on half term, so took them around St Katherine Docks on a downloaded treasure hunt. Ended up in Canary Wharf again for unlimited BBQ and a stein of house brew. Now in some kind of food coma.

Right now DW and I are watching Newcastle take down Man U.
And a take down it was.
That's quite a run,
Nice run.
Cheers chaps, my knees are feeling it today. Might go and get a proper pair of running shoes fitted. I'm up to 50k a week.
I enjoy Curling
Whats not to enjoy about watching a couple of scrubbers going at it for a couple of hours?
Saw some men’s snow boarding
The 17yo lad from the States had a great run. Nailed it.

When I worked for HMV, we had MTV on a constant feed. When MTV was good music, and not teenagers getting knocked up.

congrats to DS on the medal. Congrats to you on the extended sleep time, missing those early practises.
My older one plays, but i think it is just for the outfit.
Me as well.

Have a good afternoon fellas.

now you say you play tennis for the outfits.
:rotfl:My outfit for tennis is my Epcot 82 t shirt and my 10 year old shorts. This does not go down well at the tennis club. Especially when I win. The nipple covers are fair game though, I'll give you that. But I'll take a p!ss take over chafed nipples every day of the week.
Flat earth theorist?
I'm looking out my window now, and I can't see no curve.
