Have account ready and open, but see no points what so ever?

Does your comment suggest you are unhappy with VGF?
Not at all. I bought without having ever stayed on the DVC side. Love the hotel side, but have never seen the inside of any DVC room or stayed on DVC points.

A big no-no ‘round these parts, I know. Here’s hoping there’s enough parallel between GF and VGF.

You'll be fine. A lot of people on here just think that you have to do it their way. You don't. Enjoy VGF.

Agree with above. You'll be fine! Allow Bell Services to "do their job" (they do it well). Have a great trip and enjoy that new home! :)

Not sure if you have little kids, but we found that split stays at different resorts wasn't for us because it pretty much ate up a day in the move.

Hmm. You have to have a plan.

Many choose to send their things off (in one way or another, whether it means calling Bell or taking things to Bell or driving things to the next place, etc) then just head to the parks until after checkin time. Or they spend a pool day where you can visit both pools without having to see if a pool is on the pool-hopping list etc.

Yes they can, but you still have to be in the room to hand it off to them, and then at the next resort you have to call and wait for them to drop it off. So I would say it takes about 2-3 hours out of your day to hand the luggage off to them.

Although we always have a car for split stays, we sometimes choose to leave our bags with Bell of resort 1 then come back for them later. We have never had to wait too horribly long.

And the times when we have taken our stuff to resort 2 early then fine about our day, when we get to the next resort and know we have a room, we have stopped at Bell and let them know we’re heading up and ask them to bring our items.

We’ve never had to wait an hour total for pickup and getting bags later.

We do try to call Bell early on checkout day though.

We bought DVC (bay lake) without having been to Orlando. :)

I think that it could have gone smoother if we hadn't over packed, maybe it just seemed like it took a lot longer than it did because of how much we had to pack up first and then unpack.

Than being said, after that trip my wife and I decided that split stays weren't for us, maybe when are girls are teenagers we might try again. It just felt like we wasted a day with moving all our
stuff and would have enjoyed our vacation more without moving between resorts.

Also, Bell Service did an excellent job with our luggage, I think the problems were on our end.

I'm with you on the feeling of losing a day between split-stay locations. I've done a couple when needed ... but don't plan to do them again. One of our problems are our electronics ... we feel we must hand carry quite a few of these (rather than simply hand them off to bell services) and they are a pain to lug around.

Ugh! I had forgotten about the electronics. I will definitely see if we can get a late checkout at the Dolphin so minimize the time we are out of the room.

We never have a car as we fly. I've done 3 split stays, one a 3 way split. I usually wheel the luggage to Bell services on check out day, rather than waiting for them, although I have called them the day before to schedule a pick up time. They give you the tag and off you go to your park. Room ready text comes or not and I swing by the new resort usually mid afternoon to check out the new villa. Once I'm ok w/ that I either call down to Bell services or stop by and grab my own bags and wheel them to the villa. Once the luggage is in the villa I'm on my way. If the luggage hasn't arrived at the new resort yet, I go on my way and try Bell services again when I get back that evening. I do try to schedule my park for the move day afternoon/evening to be near the resort I'm moving to to make any bouncing back and forth easy. For example w/ BWVs I'll schedule Epcot or DHS that day. For VGF (twice) I'll schedule MK that day. Disney really does make it very easy to bounce (or sleep) around :)
Oh, and congratulations on finally getting access to your new points!!!

I split stay a lot and always leave my laptop in the bag I leave with bell services for the transfer. I haven't had any problems to date. As an alternative you could rent a locker at the park and put your electronics in there.

If you're having bell services move your luggage, doing a late checkout at Dolphin (assuming you're handing off the luggage later in the day) may delay getting the luggage to the second hotel when you get back from the parks. I guess it depends on your plan. I've done a split stay between Swan and WL and it was very easy!

I would have no problem leaving our ipads, but DH's laptop ... is another thing. What's funny is that he doesn't have an issue leaving it in the room, which to me is probably less secure than leaving it at bell services!
